Boone Speed draft
[edit]Hello! I've taken another look at your Boone Speed draft. I have not "reviewed" it officially, as I generally prefer to have a different editor, who may have a disparate perspective, provide a secondary review. I do have a few comments I hope you find helpful. The first sentence says he is an "influential figure" within rock climbing. How so? That statement isn't really fleshed out or specified, either in the section or in the article in general. As such it appears to promote the subject, instead of providing encyclopedic information. The third paragraph has got to go. It is blatantly promotional. Instead of saying "his work is great" which is supported by an interview with Boone, say "(noted art critic) states his work has a quality of global connectivity....." The first is self-promotion. The second is serious analysis. I can't comment on the notability of many of the publications you cite, hopefully an editor with expertise on rock climbing culture will review the draft next. If you have any questions, please see Wikipedia's reliable source policy. The section "Creative Career" is completely un-sourced. Please find some independent, reliable sources to support these assertions. All the best, 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 21:23, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi there. I appreciate this feedback, and clarification. I will work on the edits you mention, and understand why they're important to get right. I'll resubmit once the citations and edits are complete. Thanks! Russlowe (talk) 21:58, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Hello! Please take a look and re-review this page now. I took your feedback into account, cited additional sources, and removed a few things that might have been viewed as self-promotional / speculative. Thanks for the assistance! Russlowe (talk) 23:45, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your time in reviewing my article. I don't understand how the references cited could be perceived as 'referencing his own work' as you mention. They're all independent publications cataloging his career in a number of different ways, none of them are self-promoting or self-generated. There is no question whether Boone Speed is 'notable' based on Wiki standards, the only question is whether I'm able to figure out how to publish an article with accurate / appropriate citations, which I feel I have done. Thanks for your help. --Russlowe (talk) 21:40, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
