User talk:Alextejthompson/Archive 1
Hello, this is an archive of my user talk created on 27 June 2015. There is absolutely no point in reading or paying attention to any of this.
Satkania Upazila
[edit]You seem to have messed up what you were trying to do at Satkania Upazila. (I'm assuming that this is related to your Teahouse question here.) If you want to tag individual sections of the article as copyvios of Banglapedia, you need to insert {{subst:copyvio|url=http://www.banglapedia.org/HT/S_0155.htm}} at the beginning of each of those sections and insert </div> at the end of each section. (If you don't add the div tag, the first template will just blank the whole article after the point where it appears.) You then need to follow the instructions at the bottom right of the displayed template to actually report the copyvio problem in the relevant daily log of Wikipedia:Copyright problems. You didn't do that, so it's quite unlikely that anyone will ever see the problem or take action on it. I'd recommend that you revert your edits and follow the instructions I've given above to report the problem correctly. Deor (talk) 13:28, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I didn't realise. Rubbish computer (talk) 14:55, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- Suggestion: since you are taking out the clearly copyrighted material, as you did at Chauddagram Upazila, it might be simpler if you use Template:Cclean, which is a notice for the talk page that warns people not to put the material back. It is, as templates are becoming these days, something that nobody would figure out for themselves, but fortunately the same format as the copyvio one, i.e., {{subst:Cclean|url=http://www.banglapedia.org/HT/S_0155.htm}}. There seems to be a lot of this wholesale copying from Banglapedia about, and unfortunately it is not always a quick job to remove it (I just took one out at Radhakanta Deb). Welcome (again) to the ongoing cleanup; it is nice to see you around! Sminthopsis84 (talk) 17:17, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- Okay I will use this template. Thank you for informing me of this and for the thank. Rubbish computer (talk) 18:18, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

Two Harbors, Minnesota
[edit]Thank you for the cleanup of Two Harbors, Minnesota. It was needed. Be a good chap though and go fix all those weasel word tags. Just change the word to something less weasel. Thanks! Magnolia677 (talk) 01:52, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

2015-16 Queens Park Rangers
[edit]Hello, I wasn't removing your edits I was moving them to a different section and adding a reliable reference to say QPR are facing those sides. I have though removed the flag icons as clubs are not representing their respective countries in these matches. --Skyblueshaun (talk) 13:19, 30 May 2015 (UTC) @Skyblueshaun: They weren't my edits, I picked them out of recent changes. Thank you for your contributions and sorry if I have wasted any time.
Hi, thanks for your remarks. I noticed some issues with the dates in many articles of "muslim conquest of persia". The battle of Oxus river was the last one fought by Yazdegerd III and he died in 651. The Sassanid Empire then collapsed and the end of the fight (651-654) was Rashidun califate against the house of Karen. No more sassanid Empire at that time... therefore, Yazdegerd III could not participate at the siege of Herat because this siege was after his death... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E34:EE9D:A200:AC6B:FFB6:DDF1:634 (talk) 13:41, 30 May 2015 (UTC) @2A01:E34:EE9D:A200:AC6B:FFB6:DDF1:634 and 2A01:E34:EE9D:A200:AC6B:FFB6:DDF1:634: Thank you for your contributions; I reverted you as you appeared to be ommiting details without explaining why in your edit summary. Sorry about any time wasted. Rubbish computer 14:11, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi Rubbish computer. I have undone some edits you recently made to the above page, as i don't think they were helpful. You indicated in your edit summaries that you were reducing overlinking, but the wlinks you took out were helpful to the reader, not repetitive, and generally improved the encyclopaedia. May i suggest you take a look at OVERLINK, which speaks to this issue. Thanks, Cheers, LindsayHello 13:44, 1 June 2015 (UTC) Yes, they were helpful to the reader, but there were too many of them and many of the occupations they linked to were everyday terms. I have looked at the page you suggested previously before reducing overlinking on articles, which is what my edits have done; I cannot see the point of keeping all of the wikilinks when this means the cleanup template will remain there forever. The wikilinks' general improvement of the encyclopedia is a matter of opinion; reducing overlinking could also be said to improve the encyclopedia. Rubbish computer 14:13, 1 June 2015 (UTC) I don't mean to sound blunt or rude when I say this. Rubbish computer 14:16, 1 June 2015 (UTC) Actually you were right so never mind. @Rubbish computer: I know but you never received a welcome, so I wanted to be nice. ThatKongregateGuy (talk) 19:37, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
@ThatKongregateGuy: Thank you but I did and deleted it a while ago as it seemed irrelevant and gave the impression that I had just joined.

Mobile Teahouse
[edit]Hello. I saw your post at the Teahouse regarding mobile editing at the Teahouse. I only use a mobile to edit Wikipedia. If you ever need to post at the Teahouse with a mobile again, there is a way to post at the top. If you click on the edit button at the top of the page, you'll see a bunch of technical things (such as the archive configuration). If you post directly under all that, your question will be at the top. You obviously have to make the header. I don't know whether that will apply to what you see but it should and I hope that has helped you. :) —DangerousJXD (talk) 22:16, 12 June 2015 (UTC) DangerousJXD Thanks for that. [edit]Sorry, but what is this supposed to accomplish? There is no such section, and if there were it would probably have to be changed since in an article like that such a section really cannot be. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 15:06, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- I think I figured out what you meant. Drmies (talk) 15:08, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
