Help
As a newbie, I would be grateful for some guidance on why you have reverted most of my edits of today. Thanks Lowthen (talk) 21:10, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
ow i'm sorry should have explained . I'm a fellow directioner-
- we all now louis tomlinson said he has belgian ancestry was a joke
- bromances are irrelevant
- sugarscape is not a respected source to use since its teen website, with mostly irrelevant aricle which are not deemed to be encyclopedic
- that playing zuko in grease is his biggest anchievement an isn't noteworty
- harry and louis confirmed in new zealand that they still live together
I started editing to because of One Direction welcome to the WP 1D Family. Do note when you add messages to talk page add them all the way below. Sincerely AdabowtheSecond (talk) 22:51, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your advice. In response
- The Belgian ancestry is true - I have traced it and the sugarscape article includes a scan of L's own tweet as proof of his own revelation.
- Louis states in the video I cited that he decided to enter X Factor because of playing Danny, which is encyclopaedic in terms of motivation and factual interest. I also felt that my wording tidied the paragraphing up a bit. At the moment it has him citing his lead role, but for what purpose?
- There have been press articles about H & L both buying their own properties and their flat being on the market with pics.
Can we reconsider any?
Thanks Lowthen (talk) 07:44, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- the belgian ancestry can't be sourced with sugarscape and twitter - family descent and ancestry needs to be sourced with websites like ancestry.com that's also how birth names/dates are found.
- i have removed about harry and louis living together however do not add they bought houses because they have to confirm it themselves just like relationships
- about grease you reword that if you want to but don't add his proudest achievement just state that it was his inspiration to try for the x factor
- youtube links are not allowed unless their positive to be from a respected wellknown accounts like vevo or cnn

One Direction
Hi, can you take a look at the sentence "In the UK and Ireland, ticket sales reached 300,000 within a day of release respectively, which included a six date sell out at London's the O2 Arena.". The word respectively appears to be meaningless unless there is some missing fragment. Keith D (talk) 23:22, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- I don't understand, the wording doesn't seem wrong, change it the way you see fit, i really appreciate the help, i probably be back online in 3hours AdabowtheSecond (talk) 23:33, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- I have just removed the word respectively. Keith D (talk) 23:42, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Though thinking about it it depends if there were 300,000 tickets in each of UK and Island or 300,000 tickets in total. If the former than may need a reword to something like "In both the UK and Ireland, ticket sales reached 300,000 within a day of release" or "Ticket sales in both the UK and Ireland reached 300,000 within a day of release". Keith D (talk) 23:53, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi AdabowtheSecond. Just letting you know that when you nominate an article for reassessment you need to choose a community one or an individual one. Savan Kotecha's page!
Please stop editing his page, we are from his managment and he has request to keep the page as it was. Thank you. (unsigned comment stemming from User:Awsuki)
- I could care less if your from his management or if he prefers his article to be hideous, pages are not owned by anybody, thats not how Wikipedia works, if you revert my constructive edits to Savan Kotecha without proper reasoning I will pursue in blockage of your IP and I will continue to place edits. Kind Regards AdabowtheSecond (talk) 22:50, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- You have to respect the person who's page it is. He wants the latest releases first and the chart positions of the singles. Please leave his page a lone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Awsuki (talk • contribs) 09:10, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

A Spot of Decorating
Thanks for the make-over! Lowthen (talk) 20:49, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Just doing a few minor changes - I think you are Dutch? Your English is excellent, but very occasionally doesn't sound or read quite right - hope you're OK with this? Lowthen (talk) 21:19, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- I'm fine with it, I'm wondering why you're even asking me, I don't care if I make grammar/spelling mistakes on talk pages or in discussions, on real articles I always make sure that I use proper English. Yes I am dutch as per my User page were I speak of my mother language and English is my third language and actually in school I receive better grades for English then dutch which is weird anyway mini rant over. I have removed some of incorect info on the One Direction article as per 3 sources given which state that they went to Manchester and not Holmes Chapel or Chesire on that matter, which kind of makes me question you 1D knowledge every directioner knows they went to Manchester after bootcamp?!
- One more thing when you add citations for new info like MSG show you have to make sure they are full citations like this
For news:
{{cite news|author= |url=|title=|work= |publisher= |date=|accessdate=}}
- If your source is for example The Daily Telegraph that goes into ----> work
- For publisher you find under which publishing company it runs (in this case the Telegraph Media Group) you find out under which publishing company it runs mostly on the publications Wikipedia page or at the bottom of the article itself. Regards AdabowtheSecond (talk) 02:04, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the above. Of course every directioner does not know everything, although some may think they do. Can you take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVFDAcooDBQ&feature=BFa&list=FLi-Ob0bM8tTZWKLDbDtE4pA and let me know if you still think it's Manchester? Lowthen (talk) 11:09, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- I does not matter if it doesn't look like Manchester the sources given say Manchester, everything needs to be sourced and since 3 sources say Manchester (1 - 2 - 3) you can't change it. For the record youtube links are not allowed unless they're from respected accounts live ellen, VEVO, CNN as most of time the copyright is not verifiable. I have removed your edits to filmography and concert tours. In concert tours is only for their headlining concert tours see Madonna (entertainer)#Tours, Taylor Swift#Tours, Coldplay#Concert tours, Rihanna#Tours, Britney Spears#Tours. The Better With U Tour was so short and small its trivial and not encyclopedic not even worthy for a mention on their article. For filmograpy talk shows and one event live shows are not added Saturday Night Live is added because ita an long running seasonal shows with seasons, I'm still questioning to remove dancing on ice. Regards AdabowtheSecond (talk) 15:32, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- OK - Your views please: (1) This is not a youtube video source item, it's an ITV programme source which is already listed on the page. (2) The word on the screen says Cheshire, whatever the pictures do or don't suggest. (3) I have clicked on each of your sources and the word Manchester does not appear on any of them.
- The youtube source can not be used as the video is not rightfully in possession of account "QIOUSE1D" AdabowtheSecond (talk) 16:35, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- The sources I cited must have changed their bios on One Direction, I should have archived the articles Hot fudge! AdabowtheSecond (talk) 16:35, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- As for the Better tour, maybe under a different heading, eg Supporting Tour(s). The tour has its own page already and my understanding of encyclopaedic is "comprehensive", which ought, in my humble opinion, to include the first time they performed concerts in the American continent?
- The Better With U Tour article should be deleted it way to short, small and not notable maybe I'll slap an WP:AFD on it one of these days. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 16:35, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Are there some Filmography guidelines which I can read?
- Not adding talk shows and mundane one time performances to filmography is just common order see again Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Rihanna AdabowtheSecond (talk) 16:35, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks Lowthen (talk) 16:23, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- OK - I'll let you have "placing" even though it is strange sounding, but you can't cite a person unless you add an example of what the person is being cited for, eg cites him as a phenomenal artist or as an artist that he greatly admires or whatever. As it stands, you make "cite" sound like it can only be an extremely positive thing, whereas it can be a way of quoting anything at all, eg cites him as the worst example of hypocrisy in politics. Again, it just reads strangely, honest! Lowthen (talk) 16:41, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Why can't we use the ITV programme as the source? Lowthen (talk) 16:44, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- I strongly prefer cites anyway who cares, as for the youtube video, the account is not certain to be copyright holder of ITV video, see WP:YOUTUBE. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 16:50, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Why can't we use the ITV programme as the source? Lowthen (talk) 16:44, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Re: Vandalism
Re your message: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. In the future, you should use WP:RFPP if you are requesting page protection as there are multiple admins monitoring that page. Since it has been over 24 hours since you made the request and there have been no edits to the two articles since then, I don't think that protection is necessary as this time. Occasional vandalism is usually best handled by the Recent Changes patrollers or those like yourself who watch the page. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 02:47, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

up all night album
Please explain to me why you reverted [my perfectly valid edit http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Up_All_Night_%28One_Direction_album%29&diff=502612522&oldid=502599279] on the one direction up all night (album) page and dared to label it as "blatant vandalism." Also, please explain to me how one direction is a "band" despite not writing songs and not playing instruments (live or in studio). It is a "group" as I edited. Get your facts right before reverting next time. I would like you to reinstate my edit after you realise your errors. Noreplyhaha (talk) 06:31, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- First of all no one is ever going respect your edits if you blurt out your opinion when you make an edit lets quote "They are not a "band." Do hear REAL INSTRUMENTS? Are there any guitarists, bassists or drummers? They basically don't even write their own songs. Pathetic, manufatured tween pop BS." -- "They aren't a "band." They are manufactured rubbish!". I could go into a discussion with about the hole "manfacutuard" and "not really a band" it would waisting time because Wikipedia is not personal and therefore you should stop inflicting your opinion when you make edits because 80% of the time what your replacing is what exactly says in the source and are backed by a third party source. I'm a fan of 1D although I don't like the usage of band or group to describe them just One Direction would be better. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 16:05, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- For one, they are completely manufactured and commercial as are most boy bands. Formed on a TV show, handed songs to record, and turned into a brand to sell. Now, you can't keep repeating "one direction" throughout the article, and "band" is misleading, thus "group" would be most suitable, but you happened to revert that. From your post I still do not see why. "I'm a fan of 1D although I don't like the usage of band or group to describe them just One Direction would be better" is not a reasonal point for dispute. Noreplyhaha (talk) 03:58, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- As before I don't care or want to know your opinion. You can change band to group if you want. Is this discussion concluded? Regards AdabowtheSecond (talk) 14:28, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
Just wanted to point out the boy band article clearly states: "Being vocal groups, most boy band members do not play musical instruments, either in recording sessions or on stage, making the term somewhat of a misnomer." Statυs (talk) 10:14, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Re: Event (Year)
Your discussion closed before I got back to it, having noticed it late just checking through; one effect of Year: Event is a working IRC url, whereas a final ) in an IRC citation breaks the link. While acceptable, please consider avoiding parentheses at the end of future sections. Thanks for all of your work there, it looks good. Dru of Id (talk) 15:21, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- Simpler English maybe? Not my mother language so what are parentheses? Thanks for the compliment. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 15:32, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry; (parentheses). When linked at IRC, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Direction#Formation_and_record_deal_(2010–11) becomes [1]], with the ) broken off. It's minor, just something else to consider. Dru of Id (talk) 00:07, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

I'll finish the review of your article in 1 day and will give out everything (I'll have to say, pretty nice job done by you so far!). BTW, I just nominated this for GA. GA Reviews
I see that you are interested in reviewing Good Article nominees. As i know that you are new to the process, would you like to have a mentorship process to fully prepare yourself for reviews? I am willing to help you enhance your reviewing skills if you wich, although we'd start when i come back from my vacations. Regards. —Hahc21 22:49, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Not for the upcoming months because a new school year is starting and its the final year, I have exams so as of late August toward late December 2012 (vacation) and then again from January to July 2013, I'll be limited to editing Wikipedia, and One Direction is releasing new music from September toward December 2012, so I want to be there for that, and with already busy schedule, I don't think I have time to review articles. I will ask you when I have vacation, I would like to take it up but to busy. Thanks for considering advocating me. Regards AdabowtheSecond (talk) 00:33, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Live While We're Young
On 26 September 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Live While We're Young, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the official video for One Direction's "Live While We're Young" was premiered four days early following a leak of it online? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Live While We're Young. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. - I can't seem to find your preferences page. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 19:50, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- Click on My Preferences and scroll down to signature. Use mine as an example and play around with it: [[User:Calvin999|<span style="color:RED; font-family:'Verdana';">'''AARON'''</span>]]• [[User talk:Calvin999|<span style="color:green;">'''TALK '''</span>]] AARON• TALK 19:47, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- I will see how far I get by myself. Thanks. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 19:45, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- You do it in your preferences, it takes a while to do it if you don't know how. If you want I can do one for you then you just have to copy and paste it into the bar. AARON• TALK 19:41, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- For example when you sign your posts, it doesn't say Calvin999 (talk), it says AARON in red, I want to change the styling of my signatures. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 19:23, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- What do you mean? AARON• TALK 19:18, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hey can you tell me how to style my user signings. AdabowtheSecond (talk) 19:14, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Hello, if you would like to leave comments which concern you or would cast a vote in support or opposition based on your findings, I would much appreciate it. The list has garnered several good (and resolved) reviews, but no votes have been cast. Thanks. AARON• TALK 23:01, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Guideline
You may be more familiar than me. Where is the guideline which says that a hatnote to a same name song on another album article is not required? In ictu oculi (talk) 11:17, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not sure, although the article does not have a track listing so would just be misleading at least for now. AdabowtheSecond 15:04, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
One Direction
Category:One Direction is a topic category for all things related to One Direction. It includes albums, songs, tours, lists of awards, and a discography. The category and the items in it are NOT English boy bands and should not be categorized in Category:English boy bands. Just like Category:One Direction albums is categorized in Category:Teen pop albums, it's because all the contents in the category are teen pop albums. By categorizing Category:One Direction in English boy bands, you are saying that all One Direction's songs, albums, etc. are also English boy bands. The only article within this category that should be categorized as an English boy band is One Direction, the article. You don't see Category:U2 in Category:Irish alternative rock groups, but U2 is, and that's the correct way of doing it. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 02:22, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- Okay thanks for the explanation. AdabowtheSecond 02:25, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Let The Skyfall (8)
Sorry for the title, I like that song. Well, Hi :) Yes, I noticed that you don't edit so much lately. Thanks for the articles of 1D in the Spanish Wiki, I worked hard in them. Now, I have thought take the article of Take Me Home to featured article (the high recognition in the Spanish Wikipedia). So, goodbye and good luck in your life :) Biagio2103 (talk) 14:48, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- I love Skyfall so much. I have had the song on replay for 5 days straight. Adele's vocals are incredible. Good luck with bringing it to featured article status! Your a really good editor. Good luck. I'm not leaving permanently :), just going to be less active. AdabowtheSecond 14:58, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

I see you as the greatest OD fan on Wikipedia! You are doing absolutely amazing work in maintaining and developing those articles. Such dedication is inspiring and I really appreciate your efforts so far. Someone had to do it and you have done great. Thanks a lot for all the hard work that you have been doing related to the band. Cheers! TheSpecialUser TSU 12:35, 6 December 2012 (UTC) |
I appreciate that you note my epic-ness :p. Likewise, just yesterday I was thinking about giving you a barnstar. Thank you for the kind words :). —AdabowtheSecond 20:10, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Your work
Hi Adabowthesecond, hope you are well! I noticed that your reverted some vandalism at Live While We're Young, but did not warn the vandalizing editor, could you please remember to do so in the future, as it is meant to help teach the people who have performed vandalism not to and such. Also, in regards to the good article nomination of Live While We're Young, I'm very sorry I could not review it for good article status, but it looks like it has now been picked up by a different friendly editor. Anyways, thanks for your contributions to topic about One Direction and happy Holidays! TBrandley 01:52, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- I will try. I don't like IP vandals in general and consider most of them hopeless cases. I don't like to affiliate myself with them but understand your notion. Thanks for the advice and happy holidays as well!
Hello, if you have any spare time to leave some comments on my FLC it would be appreciate. It hasn't had much input and has stalled a bit. AARON• TALK 18:59, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

One Direction articles
Wow! I have hopped onto Wikipedia lately and been astonished and the great shape the One Direction articles are in. Keep it up! Also, I'm not sure if you know about featured and good topics, but check them out. If "Gotta Be You", "One Thing" and "Moments" are promoted to GA or FA then the Up All Night topic will be eligible for promotion as a good topic. —Andrewstalk 06:21, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. They do take some time to develop as I write them solely. 95% of Wikipedia's editors are men who aren't so fond of a pop boy band. About the Up All Night topic care to help? The "What Makes You Beautiful" article would not be half of what it is without your amazing contribution to the article in early 2012. Happy to see you active again. Regards and happy holidays! —AdabowtheSecond 00:44, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
Don't give it up
Oi. Don't give it up, just rejig it so that it's better. I'm happy to help, but I don't know anything about One Direction (beyond what is occasionaly screamed at me by my female students between the ages of 10 and 18, oh and some of my female colleagues) and my eyes glaze over a little when I'm reading anything about them. ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 14:22, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
