Request for protection on United Airlines

Hi Eti15TrSf,

I am sorry for making these edits without sources. I will no longer edit the United Airlines article without permission from you and other Wikipedia administrators. But can you make the article fully protected or semi-protected please? Airbus A350-100BOI (talk) 16:14, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Airbus A350-100BOI, protection would be pointless, as many of those who vandalize the article are extended confirmed editors (those over 500 edits). You are still allowed to make constructive edits to United Airlines Fleet and any other article. Eti15TrSf (talk) 16:27, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Reverted edits

Hi, any chance you could let me know why you reverted my edits here so I can make sure not to make the same mistake again? Many thanks Danielt998 (talk) 20:30, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Danielt998, the reason why I reverted your edits at Beianhe station was because you made some text at the infobox bold. This does not look good nor is it consistent with other articles. I hope this helps. Eti15TrSf (talk) 20:34, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
Ah, thanks for your quick response, I can see that it renders more boldly, I'm not 100% convinced that's a great solution though - my changes aren't what made the text bold, it's just that simplified text tends to render using a thicker font (if you can call it that) than otherwise, and I am of the opinion that we should always wrap language text in a more specific locale code if possible (do let me know if you have conflicting opinions) - in this case is it not just that the infobox automatically emboldens the text (boldening an already quite thick font looks even bolder), I see that it seems to do the same with the English - should this not be fixed with the infobox template if at all? Danielt998 (talk) 20:41, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
FYI Weirdly it seems to render differently with zh-Hans and zh-Hans-CN, I will investigate further.. Danielt998 (talk) 21:36, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
Ok I'm sure this is way more information than you wanted but I made an edit request for the template and this should all be good to go now, see here, glad you spotted it :) Danielt998 (talk) 23:23, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
Danielt998, I don't really have an issue with making the language text in a more specific locale. I only have the issue with making the text a bit bold. I have seen that you have added back the zh-Hans (or whatever that is called) without changing the boldness with the text, which is good. I am glad you managed to fix that. BJS stations

If you revert the edits just because the lowercase / uppercase problem, just change them in Template:BJS stations instead of revert It without writing a reason. Thank you.Ramramger (talk) 00:15, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

I don't understand why you still revert it. Please stop doing that without giving a reason.Ramramger (talk) 00:33, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Hi Ramramger, I reverted your edits at Template:Beijing Subway Station and it has nothing to do with the uppercase/lowercase issue. On a non-railway subway station like Xuanwumen, there is a template that lists all the stations on the line. Xuanwumen is bold in that template, because you are already looking at that article. But for a railway station like Qinghe railway station, it does not show it as bold, because that template links to [[Qinghe railway station#Beijing Subway|Qing He]] which for some reason does not show bold in the bottom. After doing some investigation work I found out that Beijing South railway station did not have this issue because the Template:Beijing Subway Station showed [[Beijing South railway station]] instead of {{stl|BJS|Beijing South}}. I basically applied that to all the remaining railway stations. I hope this helps why I reverted your edits. Eti15TrSf (talk) 00:36, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply.Ramramger (talk) 00:44, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

Re:Accessible exit at Guangqumenwai station

I've been to Guangqumenwai Station twice, and found that none of the exits are equipped with elevators. --N509FZ (talk) 06:19, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

N509FZ, thanks for the response. How did disabled people leave the station? If there is some other way, I think its worth mentioning in the article. Eti15TrSf (talk) 06:24, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Well then...
I never entered that "Nineteenth Avenue", so I do not know if that mall has a lift to the ground or not.--N509FZ (talk) 08:48, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks again for the response, N509FZ. I knew that Guangqumenwai station had to be connected to an accessible mall, because none of the exits have elevators and I did not see any elevators from Baidu Street View. I will add this to the article.

Reckless reverts

On the R160 page there was substantiated edits (but not referenced as it would be conflict of interest) Mine2480 (talk) 06:46, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

Mine2480, you might as well read WP:Cite. You cannot make such claims without a reference, or else it gets removed. Eti15TrSf (talk) 06:48, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

Beijing Subway Line 6 English names

Line 6 indeed changed their English names, for example: Chegong Zhuang Xi(W). If you need photo I will upload some to commons.wikimedia.org Ramramger (talk) 07:52, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Ramramger (talk) 10:55, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Ramramger, thanks for sharing these photos. I'm not sure if the article names should be moved. Such a move may be controversial and may require consensus. The syllable split up trend may also apply to the existing Line 7 stations. However, this picture of an exit of Chegongzhuang West station shows it without the syllables split up.
Eti15TrSf (talk) 15:00, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Some signs are expensive compare to the paper signs in the station so it will take many years to change. It's okay not to move these Line 6 pages (also the official map forget to update the English names of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Line 6). But I see, for example, in Nanluoguxiang station, a person added the current version (Nan Luogu Xiang) and reverted by you. The new spelling can be kept as an alternative spelling in these pages. Ramramger (talk) 15:09, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Yep, I reverted because I was not sure (and still not sure) if the station names ever changed for both lines 6 and 7. Possible to put the new names in the "other names" section Eti15TrSf (talk) 15:27, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Also Haojiafu station had an renovation, after it reopens, even the outside signs are changed as "Haojia Fu". I also see the outside signs of Dongxiayuan station spelled as "Dongxia Yuan" in some media's photo.Ramramger (talk) 15:30, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
https://m.weibo.cn/2778292197/4427339615974861 Here is "Dongxia Yuan" after exit A and C reopens in last year from Beijing Subway's weibo.Ramramger (talk) 15:35, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Hi Ramramger, I found new Line 6 timetables showing the English name without the syllables split up. Here is Ping'anli. Here is Nanluoguxiang. Here is Dongxiayuan. The official timetables still show English names unchanged. But not line 7 like Jiulongshan and Daguanying. Eti15TrSf (talk) 00:48, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
It seems the timetable are following the official map. Here is an article by Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing, they also provide a list of new spelling of all stations on Line 6: http://wb.beijing.gov.cn/home/index/wsjx/202002/t20200214_1631355.html Ramramger (talk) 08:32, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the link Ramramger. I am surprised that there is an article about that. If you want, you can start a move discussion, using that link and your photos you took. Here is how to do this mass move Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requesting multiple page moves Eti15TrSf (talk) 15:32, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Delta Air Lines Fleet

Hi. My edit cites the Flight Global article (see<ref:2025>) quoting Cirium fleet data, stated that Delta has 47 717s in service and 43 in storage (90=47+43); plus 17 767-300ER in service and 39 in storage. --Now wiki (talk) 02:07, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

The ref we use for how many aircraft in service is planespotters.net ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 02:13, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
Is it a stated policy of Wikipedia? There is other site offering similar information. Furthermore, the information from planespotters.net differs from Delta's web page from time to time. --Now wiki (talk) 05:20, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
How is planespotters.net different from the official Delta website? Planespotters is a ref used on that page and many other aircraft fleet pages. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 05:23, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
According to Delta's web page, which happens also to be one of the sources cited, the airline has a fleet of 804 aircraft. --Now wiki (talk) 05:39, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
Website not always updated, but planespotters.net updates daily. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 06:16, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
So there is no stated policy from Wikipedia to use planespotters as the only source? Furthermore, there is no assurance that all information from planespotters is accurate. There is report that Delta has stored its last 737-700. --Now wiki (talk) 06:43, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
Hello Now wiki. Apologies for this late response. Indeed many aircraft has retired, and planespotters has never updated that. The reason why I reverted some edits is because of a lack of source. However, people have shown sources, so others have made changes based on this source. Basically I am saying I can go aganist what planespotters says provided that a source is being provided. Somebody put this official Delta airlines doc as a source. Because it is an official doc from the airline, I believe this is the most reliable source there can ever be about Delta's fleet in service. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 20:44, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. Cheers. --Now wiki (talk) 23:50, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Calm your tits dude. Mtattrain (talk) 04:19, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Mtattrain, I feel like he is badly attempting to copy from more experienced users like us. To me he is attempting to send user warning messages when someone makes a "wrong" edit. He has also added uncited material, claiming that you do it, even though you at least put the uncited tag. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 04:23, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Admittedly I add uncited or semi-sourced information time to time, but yeah. He seems to undo his reversion edits though, for what it's worth. Mtattrain (talk) 04:33, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

I am new to Wikipedia, and I’m still trying to get the hang of this. Please excuse me for any mistakes. Bennykplants (talk) 19:30, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

LOL. How can 32 edits be just a simple "mistake"? What you are doing can be considered vandalism for deliberately introducing false and unsourced claims into the article. Besides, you are not a new user. You have been here for 11 months already. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 21:00, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

You have every right to edit a mistake. There’s no problem in doing that. Bennykplants (talk) 19:27, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Incorrect. Deliberately introducing mistakes can be considered as vandalism. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 19:29, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

About the Alstom propulsion between R142 and R160

What the difference propulsion between R142 Alstom Onix IGBT-VVVF AC traction motors, model: 4LCA1640A and R160 Alstom Onix 800 IGBT-VVVF AC traction motors, model: 4LCA1640A (8313–8842, 9103–9974) it sounds similar to me but it doesn't match the words propulsion Alstom why? R188 subway cars

Eti15TrSf I want to let you know (Magog the Ogre) just deleted my picture of R188 7558 LCD screen Advertisement from wikipedia's commons can you tell him to leave my picture alone and can you put it back please and thanks. Rgalo10 (talk) 20:10, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

I'm telling you what happened and thanks. Rgalo10 (talk) 20:12, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

What the heck are you talking about? The image is still here. It is also still on the R188 article. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 20:33, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, I was misunderstood. The image was in fact actually deleted on commons. I saw the deletion discussion and it was deleted on commons. However, the subject of the picture is a copyrighted advertisement and is probably a copyvio. That is why it was deleted. However, it is still on enwiki, and still on the R188 article, if that makes you feel better. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 20:39, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

Can you overturn the picture on wikipedia's commons because I Review it 6 times already there's no evidence to steal this picture that's the one I took this picture with my phone I'm not lying I'm being honest. Rgalo10 (talk) 18:44, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

The one I copy the 2 picture was 2 weeks ago was flicker but that's stealing so I did not that picture from flicker on LCD so there's no evidence to steal that picture I'm sorry. Rgalo10 (talk) 18:55, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

We already know that you took the picture yourself. But that's not the issue. The issue is the subject of the photo is a copyrighted advertisement. Per WP:CV, we can't have that. So unfortunaly I cannot do anything about your advertisement picture being deleted. ETI 15TrSF (Chat Box) 19:22, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
