Thank you

Thank you for your support at my RfA last week. I'll do everything I can to live up to your expectations and if you ever need help from a janitor please feel free to drop me a line! And thank you so much for helping to contribute to the Great Backlog Drive. There'll be lots of updates in the next week and a big push forward so your support in these early stages means a lot. I hope our paths continue to cross! PanydThe muffin is not subtle 22:21, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

While I disagree with this user about the image, its quality and its use in the article, there appears to be no justification to using Huggle to revert the Plasticine article. We should be discussing this issue at the article's talk page, not just reverting (myself included). Alansohn (talk) 18:14, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Hershey High School

It has come to my attention that you have reverted the editing a peer of my made on the Hershey High School web page. I'de like to have you know that the Video game club is taken very seriously at our school, and its very proud to boast that record (with the exception of Jonathan D. Jenkins actually being the authority/disciplinarian of the school, which was added for a little more flare). I guess it is understandable and a new section should be made.

thanks for the idea

Corey Webb —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.117.20.22 (talk) 04:09, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

If you can find a reliable source talking about your video game club, then yes you can add information about it. Even then, it may be challenged and removed on the basis of lack of notability. If you could find sources describing achievements of your club, then that could establish notability too. Reaper Eternal (talk) 11:27, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

The December 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive has begun!

Get going.

The December 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive has begun. Please get started, as the drive aims to wikify over 2,000 articles this month. We're going to need all the firepower we can get, so please remind your friends to join up as well. In case you didn't know, wikification is fairly simple: just add wiki markup, links, and similar formatting. Thanks for joining; we're looking forward to an exciting time this month!

Vandalism to Patrick McKenna (Ingenious Media) page

Hi, It would appear from tracing back the IP address 213.235.9.242 that it is linked to the email address mail2@ingeniousmedia.co.uk. When you look at the contribution history it is almost totally concerned with that company. Is it possible to withhold editing privileges from this IP address?Jus naturae (talk) 23:36, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Note: The IP address is 213.235.49.242. Reaper Eternal (talk) 23:44, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
It appears that this IP also blanked a large amount of content on Ingenious Media (reverted). You may want to compare both that article and Patrick McKenna (Ingenious Media), since a lot of content appears to be duplicated. Additionally, he was blocked 24 hours for abuse of editing privileges (expired now). If vandalism starts up again, I will file another WP:AIV report and get him blocked again; and if he gets other IPs, then I will get the page temporarily semiprotected. Good luck! Reaper Eternal (talk) 23:51, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Patrick McKenna (IM) page is now being vandalised by Victoria Jackson... possibly the same one as is a Marketing Manager for Ingeniousmedia??!!! I have reversed her deletion (and added further references).. hope you can keep an eye open and possibly block if this is sustained. Thanks, Jus naturae (talk) 15:14, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

November 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive Conclusion

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!

We have reached the end of our fourth backlog elimination drive. Thanks to all who participated.

Stats

GOCE November 2010 backlog elimination drive graphs
  • 58 people signed up for this drive. Of these, 48 people participated in the drive.
  • Although we did not eliminate the months we planned to (January, February, and March 2009; and August, September, and October 2010), we did reduce the backlog by 627 articles (11.2%), which was over our goal of 10%.
  • 49 awards will go out to 33 of 48 participants. Check out the complete list of barnstar winners here.

Barnstars

If you copy edited at least 4,000 words, you qualify for a barnstar. If you participated in the September 2010 backlog elimination drive, you may have earned roll-over words (more details can be found here). These roll-over words count as credit towards earning barnstars, except for leaderboard awards. We will be delivering these barnstars within the next couple of weeks.

Our next drive is scheduled for January 2011. In the meantime, please consider helping out at the Wikification drive or any of the other places where help with backlogs is needed.

Thank you for participating in the last 2010 backlog elimination drive! We look forward to seeing you in January!

Ingenious Media / Patrick McKenna (Ingenious Media) explanation

Originally, all the text (personal and business) was under the heading Ingenious Media. Our IP address took out the personal text, so I thought fair enough - they should be separated - and created a new personal page for Patrick Mckenna. Then found that IP address takes exception to that as well! Personally, I am not too concerned about the business page - Ingenious Media - as there wasn't a lot left when you take out the personal stuff! But I am concerned about the Patrick McKenna page (and will be keeping an eye on it!). Thanks for your views,Jus naturae (talk) 10:08, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Question from November copyediting drive editor

I am totally grateful for the stars I've received on this last campaign, and it was truly fun. However, I left Diannaa a message about this on her talk page and haven't gotten a reply so here goes: While I counted the number of articles I edited during the drive, in the last twenty or so entries I left out word counts. Do these not count if they were not done during the drive? I am still tallying. Thanks --Aichikawa (talk) 19:21, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Hmm. You should talk to some of the Guild drive coordinators, like SMasters, The Utahraptor, and Dianna. Reaper Eternal (talk) 18:15, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Once User:Reaper Eternal/Wayne SlamCSD starts getting larger, will you archive it? WAYNESLAM 01:54, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

It doesn't matter since I could use another mentor since I have two main mentors and another mentor which is you. You'll be my mentor for speedy deletion tags so leave the page as it is, Dylan will be for creating articles and Utahraptor will be for reverting vandalism. 5 albert square will also give me addition information. Hey Reaper! I asked Jivesh to contact you. Hope its okay that I didn't ask him to contact Copy Editor's Guild :) Novice7 Talk 11:35, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
I don't mind. The article is finished with the copyedit, so tell me what you think. Are there any rough spots left? One suggestion I do have is to try to shorten the lead a little bit, since it seemed to be almost a copy-paste of other parts of the article. I'll be happy to go over it again if you would like after you shorten the lead (if you do, that is ;). Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:31, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
To me it seems perfect. And, you're great. I'll never forget your contribution to Jessica Simpson discography. So, are you nominating yourself to become an Admin? I saw this notice of Editor's Review, so, thought you might end up nominating yourself for Adminship soon. Anyways, I would love work with you again on some other articles. Novice7 Talk 04:56, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
I'd be glad to continue working with you on other articles. However, no I am not nominating myself for admin, and even if I did, it would be closed within 4 hours as WP:SNOW. (I have only been active here for ~2.5 months.) I created the editor review since I had wanted people to look over my contibutions and see if I was doing anything wrong. Deleting Contributions

Hi there,

You recently reverted some inappropriate information I posted about a school. I was wondering if it would be possible to delete the contribution entirely from the history? I feel badly about putting that information out there, and don't really want it to be accessible. Would you be able to help?

Sincerely, trustingsidekick — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trustingsidekick (talkcontribs) 12:54, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

You could email oversight-en-wp@wikipedia.org and request that they remove the offending content from all view, to the point that nobody can see that it was ever there. However, I am not certain that the oversight policy covers that. You could alternatively request that they "RevDel" (see WP:REVDEL) the edits. The result is that the history will have a line through it and people will be unable to read it. (Click on the history of my talk page (this very page!) and you will see many RevDel'ed edits.) When requesting either oversight or RevDel, please mention that you wish to withdraw your attack and that you do not wish to have such a record. Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:53, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Has been taken care of (was requested at several talk pages). Cheers, Amalthea 14:24, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Date of Birth for Norman 'Chubby' Chaney from 'Our Gang'

Deletion history

I am a biographical subject whose page was recently deleted according to notability guidelines here. This deletion was correct and I agree with it. Unfortunately the reference to this article and its deletion log still shows up in a Wikipedia search. As such although there is no article suggesting notability, there is now an "article" suggesting non-notability, which I find damaging. Is there any way to expunge or otherwise archive this material? Does it get automatically deprioritized after a certain date? Thanks in advance for your help. Timlabor (talk) 15:12, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

I see this article (deletion history link) is no longer accessible through a Wikipedia search (thanks!) but it still shows up in a general Google search. Love to clear this up too (or will this take care of itself?) 76.95.48.70 (talk) 15:40, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Google will eventually remove the result for your page since the Wikipedia article has been deleted. It may take a couple days, though, but it should eventually resolve itself too. Good luck! Reaper Eternal (talk) 01:02, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Why are you insistent on adding "deaths" section in Bartram Springs. By adding this below the comment "While Batram Springs was originally considered a safe community for starter homes, they were plagued by three separate non natural cause related deaths." you are insinuating that the neighborhood is not safe. Please leave this area blank, further if you are a homeowner here, which I assume you are, you are taking away from our home values, thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bartramsprings (talkcontribs) 15:53, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

I would not call reinstating the content "insistent". I reverted since your mass removal of content did not seem to be following any guideline for removing content. Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:19, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Backlog Projects - Copy to Commons

Hi. I am interested in working this category: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Copy_to_Wikimedia_Commons but am not sure of the requirements at the Commons end. Do you have any advice?

Dave Crosby (talk) 10:45, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I'm glad you want to help me with the backlog! Basically you follow the practice outlined at Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons. I use the CommonsHelper tool noted in step #2 of the process to copy the description. The tool itself is easy to use, and gives instructions along the way (i.e. "save the image locally, then click the button 'upload to commons' to upload.") Afterwards, if the image is uncategorized on the commons, you will need to add it to at least one category so that people can find the image. I know that there is a tool you can turn on in your preferences on Wikimedia Commons called "HotCat", which you can use to easily add categories to the image.
One thing to note is that you will want to unify your login if you have not already done so. Follow this link and it will automatically unify your account. Good luck, and feel free to contact me with any more questions you may have. Reaper Eternal (talk) 02:12, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Did I cover all the options with this one? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:T_H_Lacy.JPG Thanks, Dave Crosby (talk) 15:32, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
You did a good job, both here and on commons. An admin will eventually delete the file on enwiki. Reaper Eternal (talk) 20:56, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, if I can figure a good workflow I'll make this a routine task. Dave Crosby (talk) 10:50, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

This is my sandbox, so you don't have to worry about any intrusions ;) Hope you can help me. Novice7 | Talk 12:32, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I'd be happy to copyedit the article. (Just remember to move it out into article space before nominating it for GA ;> .) Reaper Eternal (talk) 02:13, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I will. Btw, which article are you gonna nominate for FA? Novice7 | Talk 03:16, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh! You mean I nominate an article (of course, with your help)? Novice7 | Talk 03:20, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Ah.. Yes! I was thinking of this article. From what I've seen, FAs can be very very long. I'm short on sources too. Of course, I'd love to work with you. Novice7 | Talk 03:27, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
There are more. this, maybe even this. Anything will do. Novice7 | Talk 03:41, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
I'd be glad. Merry Christmas to You! Novice7 | Talk 03:47, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Great! Couldn't get better! Thank you so much :) Novice7 | Talk 03:49, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry. Which article's refs? Anyways, "A Very Merry Christmas to You" ;) Novice7 | Talk 14:01, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh! I Will Always Love You. Right! For that, we need Parton's version's information too. It can be difficult. We'll try. Sorry, I could not get it at-first.. Novice7 | Talk 14:03, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
I got it :D Sometimes, I get things "slow..." Sorry about that! I'll search on Google News Archive and EW.com for information. Houston's version is famous alright, it can easily be sourced. The problem lies on Parton's version. Novice7 | Talk 14:07, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok. I found some sources. Basically, we have to merge the two versions and include information of both. Btw, the actress you requested for CSD, I know her (I'm an Indian LOL), anyways, she's not notable. Novice7 | Talk 14:48, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
They are newspaper sources. Some others are biographies too. here. Novice7 | Talk 14:53, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Check out the lead here. I've moved it to sandbox, so we don't mess with the article. Novice7 | Talk 15:07, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
I will ask Nathan for help. He has the Billboard book of Number One Hits. It'd surely have a page on IWALY. Also, congrats on your GA! Novice7 | Talk 15:21, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh it's okay! You'll still help me right? With the article and its prose? I have no idea about Archaeology (though I like it). Merry Christmas buddy :) Novice7 | Talk 04:19, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
So Reaper.. What do you say? I work on it and you correct it out, or together? How was Christmas? Novice7 | Talk 05:35, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
It's okay :) I'll contact you, if I need help on copy-edit ;) Happy New Year Novice7 | Talk 03:43, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
It's okay Reaper :) Everyone has an interest. You like Archaeology, I like music. Anyways, you're my friend. I hope I can contact you if I need help on something ;) Novice7 | Talk 12:55, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, and Merry Christmas!

I thank you for your recent revision on 2010 in heavy metal music. Vandalism is always happening on that page, and I'm trying my best to keep everything in order. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Ant_smusher (Talk)01:11, 27 December 2010

You're welcome, and I changed your signature slightly because it was missing a closing HTML tag (). You may want to fix that, because it makes everything following your signature is a superscript. Reaper Eternal (talk) 16:18, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Can you please copy-edit Why Does It Hurt So Bad? Don't go easy on a single grammar error. I'm in a little trouble right now. I need to fix the article, please? Novice7 | Talk 11:35, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
It's okay. I will wait. Actually, I have to go somewhere too :) Thank you for accepting my request. Novice7 | Talk 11:40, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
By "to the motion picture", I meant recorded for the motion picture. Can you change it? Novice7 | Talk 15:03, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
I changed it. Please check it out and let me know if it's okay. Also, you did this before but, can you copy-edit How Will I Know again? Just like you did Why Does It Hurt So Bad? It was awesome! Please?? Novice7 | Talk 15:27, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Can you, please.... Novice7 | Talk 03:41, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
It's okay. Take your time. Just needed to fix, that's all. Btw,I left this message before you started copy-editing. Novice7 | Talk 11:33, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you :) Novice7 | Talk 13:19, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
I was just reading through your talk page (not watching it, lol) and saw Jivesh's request. He's been working so hard on this and trying to get it to FA. Novice7 | Talk 16:38, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Dude, what the hell?

That was just a minor edit, there was no need to revert that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LukeScalone (talkcontribs) 02:53, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Of course I did; it was vandalism. Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:44, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2011 WikiCup!

Hello, happy new year and welcome to the 2011 WikiCup! Your submissions' page can be found here and instructions of how to update the page can be found here and on the submissions' page itself. From the submissions' page, a bot will update the main scoresheet. Our rules have been very slightly updated from last year; the full rules can be found here. Please remember that you can only receive points for content on which you have done significant work in 2011; nominations of work from last year and "drive-by" nominations will not be awarded points. Signups are going to remain open through January, so if you know of anyone who would like to take part, please direct them to Wikipedia:WikiCup/2011 signups. The judges can be contacted on the WikiCup talk page, on their respective talk pages, or by email. Other than that, we will be in contact at the end of every month with the newsletter. If you want to stop or start receiving newsletters, please remove your name from or add your name to this list. Good luck! J Milburn and The ed17 12:59, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Outing

This is a false accusation and I don't deserve a warning. I refered to a user using slang that also happens to be a proper name, and he capitalized on it, by reporting me for trying to out him. Also he said I had threatened to do this in the Glenn Beck discussion page. NO WHERE did I ever threaten anyone with an outing. I want a review of my warning. This editor has been hounding and bullying me from the get-go. Deliciousgrapefruit (talk) 13:38, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Um exscuse me Reaper? Why did you delete Rosie's page? I provided several links and references ??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by GtheLad (talkcontribs)

(talk page stalker) Hi, Reaper Eternal. The above poster inadvertently deleted a message to you from User:Garrapito. --Diannaa (Talk) 17:36, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Diannaa! I tagged the page for speedy deletion and the admin deleted it because it did not indicate the notability of the subject. Also, it was a blatant copyvio. However, now you appear to have added her claim to notability, so it should not happen again. However, please do not delete other users' comments as Diannaa noted. Redirect of "Multi Gaming Clan" page?

Hi mate,

Was just wondering why you have set up a redirect for the page "Multi Gaming Clan"? The content that was on that page is not included on the page you have redirected it to so could you please give me a good reason for this?

I dont mean to sound rude or anything, its just I dont see why you would completely remove good content I took time to right up :(

Regards GSL-Nathan (talk) 10:08, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

I have undid the redirection, but I still feel that the content in that page would be better as a subsection in clan (computer gaming). Reaper Eternal (talk) 11:28, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your quick work

Request

Hi Reaper! If you have any spare time, could you copyedit the lead for me here? Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 01:53, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Request for copy-edit

Hello Reaper! It's been some time since we talked :) So, if you could spare some time, could you copy-edit the article here. It's something I've been meaning to expand for a long time :) Novice7 | Talk 17:22, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

I moved the article out of sandbox. Here. Please? Novice7 | Talk 11:50, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Been busy IRL ;) . I'll do it now! Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:14, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
I'm in no rush to get it completed :) Take your time. Novice7 | Talk 13:44, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Amazing work on archaeology articles :) I read your Worlebury Camp article. Awesome! Do you plan on editing Indian archaeological articles? Just asking... Novice7 | Talk 14:19, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! And yes, I am happy working on Indian archaeological articles. Reaper Eternal (talk) 17:13, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

(→) You don't have to work on them right away :) I was just asking. I'm no good in archaeological articles. But, I have heard and seen some like this. They can be difficult to complete as there are not much research articles about them :( Novice7 | Talk 10:16, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so much! Could you inform Lil-unique that you've finished c/e? Novice7 | Talk 13:44, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Before you go trying to "salvage" it, you may want to note my comment on the article's talk page. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:30, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Replied on talk page that this appears to be a hoax. Reaper Eternal (talk) 20:48, 12 January 2011 (UTC) Added that here since the page was deleted.
