DYK nomination of Brajesh Singh

Hello! Your submission of Brajesh Singh at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) at your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! BuySomeApples (talk) 04:45, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Brajesh Singh

On 1 September 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Brajesh Singh, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Joseph Stalin's daughter Svetlana Alliluyeva fell in love with Brajesh Singh, whom she considered her husband although they were never allowed to marry? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Brajesh Singh. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Brajesh Singh), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

No worries, I just removed another also tagged with G11. That one can be a bit more complicated, but the key is that it applies to pages that are exclusively promotional, and would need a fundamental rewrite to comply with WP:NPOV. But if a substantial portion could be left in place, the page is not eligible for G11. You may just want to review the CSD page for the appropriate criterion before you tag in the future, just to be sure. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 02:24, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Ratnahastin,

You nominated some articles for AFD deletion discussions today. I just want to remind you to do a proper WP:BEFORE for each article that you nominate which means not just looking at the condition of the article as it exists today but checking to see if reliable sources exist elsewhere. It can be a little embarrassing to nominate articles that are proven by AFD participants to be obviously notable. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:44, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

October 2023 NPP Backlog Drive sign up

Hello! I noticed that you are signed up for the October 2023 NPP Backlog Drive. However, you're going to be unable to participate if you do not have the New Page Reviewer permission. If you are still interested in participating in the backlog drive, then I encourage you to request the permission at WP:PERM/NPR. I have, for the moment, removed you from the participants list as you not able to participate at this point in time. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:22, 2 October 2023 (UTC)

Alright. Although i had requested for the permission on WP:PERM/NPR, it seems there's also a large backlog of requests over there. Ratnahastin (talk) 09:52, 4 October 2023 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi Ratnahastin. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:26, 4 October 2023 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Ratnahastin. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 13:54, 4 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi Ratnahastin

Hi Ratnahastin, and hope you are doing well. This is about your oppose vote in the ongoing RfA. I thought I would reach out directly to you in the light of the reasoning you gave. I am confident you have seen that the candidate got Rust (programming language) to GA status, which is significant evidence of their understanding article development and sourcing. I do appreciate your viewpoint of article creation, but editors can easily create hundreds of stubs, without understanding quality creation. More importantly, the key skill of this candidate is their managing the technical foundations of this project, as they are additionally an edit filter manager, a right that extremely very few editors are granted, much lesser than even the number of administrators on Wikipedia. An edit filter manager right is given after confirmation of the very high levels of trust that we place on individuals because they get the power to in reality bring down Wikipedia if they want, as they have the technical knowledge to manage the gates of Wikipedia and to put in action mass technical edits to ensure Wikipedia is safe. Having said that, the candidate getting the admin rights would be really helpful for us to manage the back-end of this project. In this light, I would kindly request you to reconsider your vote. Please note that I do so with all respect and regard for your current reasoning. Much thanks in advance, and most warmly, Lourdes 12:11, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

November Articles for creation backlog drive

Hello Ratnahastin:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!

You rejected an engineering article about one of the most common Seismic norms in the world, written by a seismic engineer with no affiliations to the engineering body which writes the norm?? Really??

The reason you gave was that it doesn't have enough details? There is only reasonable amounts of detail I can provide on Wikipedia, can't copy the whole norm. But the idea that a norm created by one of the world's biggest and oldest engineering societies (and one used to create billions of USD worth of electrical equipment) is not reliable enough unless it is mentioned by other random websites?

You earned the wet trout :P

Wikipedia only reports what the reliable, published sources say. The article you had submitted for review only had a single source, that too from a self published source, which cannot be used here. You might want to resubmit it, when it is reliably sourced and is verifiable. Regards.Ratnahastin (talk) 12:22, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Hasty dratification

Hi Ratnahastin. Please note that per WP:NPPHOUR, in ordinary circumstances you should wait at least an hour before nominating an article for deletion, blank-and-redirecting it, or moving it to draftspace. Here you draftified an article ten minutes after it was created, whilst the author was actively editing and adding references. Special:NewPagesFeed highlights pages that are less than an hour old with an orange lozange. – Joe (talk) 11:22, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

The Declined Article on Mercy Alu

I am logged into my account. What I am saying is that the "reviewer" stated exacly the decline reason: that the references need to be from verifiable sources independent of the artist/ambassador. It doesn't make sense that ALL the National Newspapers with articles on this Artist are not verifiable? Please we need to be careful to maintain the quality of not only publications but review that we profess. Even a chat response telling me that declining was not far-fetched, without being specific doesn't make sense. The chat comment stated the article is unreferenced and appeared some parts copied from one of the sources, while the reviewer is saying the references need to be from reliable sources independent of the subject; indicating the article is actually referenced? If you believe it "appears" copied, if the same information is carried by different sources about the artist, and you see that I wrote similar about her, should I then make up things about her so as to make my article different? Or shouldn't much of the information online about her be able to be verified as similar? For example, this Major Newspaper of Imo State, Nigeria, that is the flagship Newspaper of the State and writes about Nigerian Artists, including interviewing them etc, with this article about this woman, is considered a passing mention? An unreliable source not separate from her? https://www.imotrumpeta.com/?p=37355

National Nigerian Newspapers who write about Nigerian artists are also unreliable? Is the source you actually mention which is the Intercontinental Music Awards Website where she is noted to be an Ambassador, also an unreliable source that is NOT separate from the subject? I still say the same thing, you are not clear in how you select articles to improve on, and those you completely decline. Even Awards that are verifiable and relevant, backed by Hollywood, and published in these articles with the actual Award links shared, are still not verifiable by your editor? Artist Notability according to you, NEED to include ONLY one thing: Winning a relevant award, representing something significant in that area, Being published in major reliable independent sources. This artist meets all three. You are saying that the Major Nigerian Newspapers are not reliable, since their articles are included. You are saying, that even the United Nations is not reliable, since the link included showing this woman is also a UN/SDG's ambassador with Globcal International, with both the Globcal webpage link, the UN webpage link, and her designated Ambassador page unverifiable? I think something is wrong with your assessment. There are references in all that I have submitted, which verify at least ONE of your listed criteria, even if you choose not to acknowledge the rest. Please do not remove the Template:Disputed_inline tag from Shambuka while the opening sentence is still being discussed in Talk. Please also contribute to the discussion there so that we can reach a stable consensus, we are well passed the point where edit comments are sufficient. Carleas (talk) 13:46, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

You are reverting many uncontroversial and maintenance edits, please edit the specific text you disagree with, and if that text is subject to an ongoing dispute, please explain why on Talk:Shambuka.

Information icon Hi Ratnahastin! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Ram Mandir several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Ram Mandir, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Just a heads up. You are reaching WP:3RR threshold soon in a WP:CTOPS article. So kindly proceed accordingly. Thanks.. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 15:13, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
