A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Radiostarcontest/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hi Theroadislong, thanks so much for your kind words.
If there is anyway at all that anyone could help me retrieve the page. I've spent 6 years building up this contest. It is purely non profit and just set up to help showcase talent that was not getting noticed in the industry. It's just myself and my partner running it , but we have made such an impact. I have included all the sources / references. Is there anything I can do, just let me know and I am happy to oblige. Yours Sincerely, Tracey Radiostarcontest (talk) 14:09, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No there is nothing you can do, please read Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause. Theroadislong (talk) 14:58, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Theroadslong, I understand, I just figured because the likes of other contests such as XFactor and Got Talent shows are permitted, that this would be allowed. Thank you for the information. Radiostarcontest (talk) 20:02, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, see other stuff exists. Theroadislong (talk) 21:17, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. Whpq (talk) 13:48, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --~~~~
Hi Whpq, I have created this contest over 6 years. It is completely non profit and set it up to showcase talent that was not getting noticed. I have put a lot of work into this and spent days coming up with this information for wikipedia. Please, dont delete. I would be so, so very grateful for any help whatsoever from wikipedia experts. I really just want to help talent get noticed in this 'needle in a haystack' industry of audio. There is so much talent out there and I want to continue doing this every year for free. If this in any way comes across as advertising, I am extremely sorry and would like to obey by your rules and extremely open to as much help as I can get. I have no funding and do this with my partner, just the two of us. Yours sincerely, Tracey Radiostarcontest (talk) 13:58, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a web host for publicizing your organisation. Any article must be written from a neutral point of view which is difficult for somebody with a conflict of interest. As well, to meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria, a topic have significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. As noted above, your user name is not compliant with user name policy. You will need to change it. -- Whpq (talk) 14:06, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Could I just ask why other similar talent contests such as XFactor, GotTalent, Top Talent (South Korea) ,Star Search, USA and many more talent shows are already included onWikipedia? I am confused why I am any different. Thanks for your help. Radiostarcontest (talk) 20:53, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because they meet the inclusion criteria I just stated above. Your page was very promotional. -- Whpq (talk) 20:56, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Whpq, I have just requested a name change (awaiting approval)
So if I rewrite the article, could I try publishing again?
Thank you. I am completely new to this, so really appreciate any help I can get from you. Radiostarcontest (talk) 21:02, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Help:Your first article provides some advice, but it also contains the section WP:AVOIDCREATE which you need to read and understand. There is no policy preventing you from attempting to write about your organisation if you declare your conflict of interest but it is highly discouraged. If you are absolutely insistent that you want to try to write the article, you should create it as a draft and submit it through Article for Creation. My very blunt advice is writing a Wikipedia article about your own organisation is a very bad idea. -- Whpq (talk) 01:02, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
