I was assigned to clean this up by the cleanup taskforce, but I'm not very knowledgeable of the game. I cut a lot of the unwieldy lists, but I'm not really in a position to find what's cruft and what should be included in an encyclopedia. bibliomaniac15 00:00, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Hhss.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hhss.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:55, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, saw your deletion rationale on this. As you primarily contend that the image is of a living person, I have emphasized the point that the article it illustrates is of a fictional character (ie, that living person in costume/in character), much harder to replace or obtain free.
Please let me know if you still have a concern in this regard. Radagast (talk) 17:46, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The photo has virtually nothing that distinguishes it and provides no more value to the article than a free photo would. Stifle (talk) 18:25, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That particular photo is set against the backdrop of the TARDIS (in case you haven't noticed) and has Tate in character. As such, this image is unreplaceble. EdokterTalk 15:52, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Conestoga_logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Conestoga_logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 20:33, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Conestoga logo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Conestoga logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:15, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The location of El Nido

[edit]

Thank you for your desire to contribute to the article entitled El Nido, Palawan. However, I would like to reiterate that El Nido is actually oriented towards the western coordinate, and not the eastern part!

Yes, it is very true that entire Philippines is in the Eastern Hemisphere (hence, we are in Southeast Asia or the so-called Far East), if you look at the world map or the globe. BUT if you consider the location of El Nido (being part of Palawan) on the Philippine map, it really belongs to the WESTERN COORDINATE!

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Radagast! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 258 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Ainslie Street Transit Terminal

[edit]

You created the article for the Charles Street Terminal, and I wondered if the other major GRT bus terminal is worth its own article? I have updated Charles St with a more extensive generic station infobox, as part of a change over of all GO Transit stations and terminals. This could similarly be used for Ainslie, and I would change the style of the infobox to GRT, rather than GO Transit, if there were more than one article. I know nothing about either terminal, but thought that it might be valid to do both. Secondarywaltz (talk) 23:42, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I thought with your local knowledge you would be able to quickly compile a stub about the terminal. I will add it to my list of 100s of things to do. I will let you know when I get around to it, and you can fine tune the article. I have changed the style of the Charles Street Terminal to GRT colours. Thanks. Secondarywaltz (talk) 17:18, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Created Ainslie St. Transit Terminal. Note that I have used the official name and spelling of the building, as shown by the sign on the building and references from GRT website, and created a redirect for the colloquial "Ainslie Street terminal". The Charles Street facility has been ranamed for the same reason. Secondarywaltz (talk) 16:27, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Sheppard Line.png needs authorship information

[edit]
Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Sheppard Line.png appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{subst:usernameexpand|Radagast/Archive 3}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:File page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:19, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
