While what you say about longevity of sources is technically correct, it does not impugn this particular source. The worst thing you could say about this source is that it is provincial, and that is hardly a heavy strike against it. Quatloo 14:15, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is one of hundreds of provincial periodicals intended to serve the Jewish community. These publications tend to be noncontroversial and pragmatic. I would recommend a visit to the American Jewish Periodical Center, as it is among their holdings on paper medium, along with many similar journals. Quatloo 14:44, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For the purposes of Wikipedia, the fact that that institution (American Jewish Periodical Center, at Klau Library of Hebrew Union College) has chosen to include it in its collection is amply sufficient. You can call them at (513) 221-7444 ext. 3396 and query them about the source. I'm satisfied that this is not necessary, but if you are not, there is the number. People ganging up to disrupt an article

[edit]

Hi,

I found you at Wikipedia:Editor assistance. If you can spare a few minutes of your time helping out at Indo-Aryan loanwords in Tamil, I would be thankful.

I am developing an article on words borrowed by Tamil from Indo-Aryan languages. I am citing a standard authoritative lexicon from which I find the words that are borrowed before including them at Indo-Aryan loanwords in Tamil. There are a few people who seem to be intent in damaging the article by adding "cite" tags, "disputed" and "dubious" tags for the article and threatening to delete it within 24 hours.

Could you please help?

Thanks. Kris (talk) 19:10, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Yasser Latif Hamdani article

[edit]
  • Dear editor, the BLP Entry on my life Yasser Latif Hamdani is subject to a very vicious edit war by a number of sockpuppets including one who goes by YLHamdani and is an impostor. The users/IP Vandals are insistent that I am an Ahmadi by faith because my late father was an Ahmadi by faith. To this end they've produced an article in which it says that my father was an Ahmadi which is true. However, I am not an Ahmadi and I have made it quite clear on several occasions and it is not because of any other reason but because I genuinely don't concur with a number of Ahmadi religious beliefs. The reason why the said person is misusing Wikipedia to slander me is because in recent years the Ahmaddiya community has become subject of terrible violence and very often endangered for having a different set of beliefs. The said person is trying to provoke mob violence against me because of my political opinions about a secular and liberal Pakistan. It is not difficult to forsee that this might end up with potentially very severe consequences for my livelihood and life itself. Kindly take note and please help me out.Yasser Latif Hamdani (talk) 05:59, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Comment

[edit]

Hi,

I note from the editors' list that you help with NPOV issues. I'm having a problem with an incipient edit war on two related articles (Greg Caton and Cansema) and would like to ask your assistance. I've posted an RfC on the talk pages of both articles that I think is self-explanatory. I give more details on the other user's talk page (linked from the RfC description). If you could look them over and comment, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks, Mark L 96.237.170.36 (talk) 01:21, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
