Wikipedia Loves Art! (February 27)

The Smithsonian American Art Museum will be having a Wikipedia Loves Art! meetup on Friday, February 27 from 5-7 pm in the Kogod Courtyard. Come share your experiences, meet the other teams, and take some photos! While RSVPing isn't necessary drop Jeff Gates an email if you're planning on attending so he can get a head count: gatesj (at) si.edu. There also is a signup list here, along with detailed information. The museum is conveniently located across from the Gallery Place-Chinatown metro station.

DC 6th Meetup (March 7)

[edit]

The 6th DC meetup will be on March 7th at Pizzeria Uno's at Union Station, one level up from the main floor, beginning at 5pm. We usually stay at Unos for several hours, and after that, some people may stay out a while longer for drinks somewhere.

Book in advance and go normal rather than Acela express, and it should be around $45 roundtrip (from Philly, I don't know if it's that much more via Pittsburgh)SWATJester Son of the Defender 05:47, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  7. I might be able to come. But that's a big "might." Probably depends on how much work I have that weekend. If it was one week later, I'd have a better chance of coming, because that's spring break. --Jnelson09 (talk) 17:21, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Directions

[edit]

Union Station is a stop on Metro's Red Line. From the description for Meetup 2:

The DC metro system is one of the highest regarded public transportation systems in the United States. Normally this isn't saying much, but the system is rather good. All directions given will be provided in terms of the Washington Metro system. Note that there is also a decently-sized parking lot at Union Station itself, so you may just want to drive all the way in. Beware, however, that it can get quite crowded and the prices may be steep.
Several Stations, including Silver Spring, Landover and others have significant amounts (as in hundreds of spaces) of parking, and it's free on weekends.

Metro does allow bicycles on trains during off-peak times, and this being on a Saturday, it qualifies as off-peak.
