[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Hi there, Hickory! Thank you so much for your feedback. I tried to make this read less like a CV and more like the bio pages on your Talk page; would love more feedback/one more chance to get this copy correct. Thank you!
Decline reason:
Since you only seem interested in promoting yourself, there are no grounds to remove the block. If you want to edit about other topics, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 23:56, 19 January 2022 (UTC)

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
Hi again, I wanted to clarify that I am not Michael; my name is Taylor (as seen in the email and account registration for the account). I didn't know that the username had to be different from the article I wanted to create. That was my mistake and since my account has already been made and I incorrectly made "Michael J Wimmer" my account name AND the article page, what do you advise. I don't know how to change my username at this stage. I am just trying to create an article about Michael Wimmer for nothing other than creating an article, no self promoting. Please let me know if there are additional ways I can verify my identity. Thanks.

We cannot see your email address (don't post it here, for your protection) or registration information. Since you aren't Michael Wimmer, you didn't choose to edit about him by chance- do you have an association with him or his companies? 331dot (talk) 08:45, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hi 331dot! Thank you so much for your response and feedback. I am so so sorry for all the confusion and the misleading username (as I mentioned above, I didn't realize when I created the account that I didn't need to make my username the article title name.
I am a student currently enrolled in a university near Mr. Wimmer's automotive business and for one of my early semester assignments, we were tasked with creating a Wikipedia page for a local top executive. I became aware of Mr. Wimmer and his company through an internship in the city. I noticed that Mr. Wimmer and his company did not/does not have any available information on Wikipedia, so I thought he would be a great fit for my assignment.
I believe that it would still be relevant to create this page on Mr. Wimmer, and I am hoping I will be granted access/approval to continue this process.
Again, I sincerely apologize for not following Wikipedia's username guidelines and am open to any suggestions you may have on how to be unblocked and adjust my submission for approval.
Thank you so so so much.~

This is an odd situation. Wikipedia isn't a business directory – it's a general purpose encyclopedia. To demonstrate that you'll choose appropriate topics in the future, I'd like you to describe our inclusion criteria in your own words (see also Vanjagenije's statements below). After you show us that you understand our inclusion criteria, I think we can unblock you. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 09:42, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

UPDATE: I have requested a name change to further try to remedy this error. Thank you again!

- PurpleLemur13, Wiki Ed are usually quite good at making it clear that no course should require the creation of an article as an assessment requirement. Requiring you to write about a local "notable" who doesn't meet Wikipedia's notion of WP:Notability seems to be pushing you into a position where you'll have nothing to show for your efforts. I guess I'm asking, does your professor have much experience of Wikipedia? Knowledge of our policies on Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, or reliable, verifiable, independent sources? Cabayi (talk) 15:32, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it is very unfair to you as a student to require you to create an article. 331dot (talk) 17:54, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- I completely agree with you on that. Zippybonzo (talk) 07:57, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

{{unblock|reason= I truly don't know. I just thought it would be nice to highlight the local leader. I understand if I need to come back to this after I build up my Wikipedia credibility more. Thank you both for your help}.
- @PurpleLemur13: Michael Wimmer is obviously not a WP:NOTABLE topic for a Wikipedia article. Notability is proved by citing reliable independent sources with significant coverage (see WP:42). In the draft your created (Draft:Michael Wimmer), you cited several sources, but the only one that even mentions Michael Wimmer is his personal LinkedIn profile (not an independent source). So, in order to be unblocked, please, answer in depth:
- What kind of edits do you intend to make if unblocked? Do you intend to write drafts/articles about Mr. Wimmer and other non-notable topics? If not, tell us what kind of edits you plan to make.
- Do you understand the WP:NOTABILITY rule? Explain us your understanding of that rule, in your own words. Convince us that you understand it. Vanjagenije (talk) 19:28, 20 February 2022 (UTC)

Appeals are reviewed in no particular order as we find time and energy (and, generally speaking, the better the appeal, the better the response time). Please do not open more than one at a time. --Blablubbs (talk) 13:18, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
