Information icon Hello, I'm 1AmNobody24. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Music of Uganda, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 1AmNobody24 (talk) 08:52, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@1AmNobody24 Hello thanks for the review, I'm grateful. But the information I added, I added sources for Pro Art Editer (talk) 09:54, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. In your edit, you sourced "Known By His Stage Name Jack Rollen (Often Stylized As JARO)" to the Journal of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology. It does not inspire confidence. signed, Willondon (talk) 13:41, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lost in the email

[edit]

I got a notice that you sent me an email, but I have not yet received it. signed, Willondon (talk) 13:38, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Got it (in its entirety): "Hello Will, The edit I made for The page Eno Beats is as requested by management. But you reverted."
I rarely communicate through email regarding Wikipedia activity. I certainly didn't see anything in there that required confidentiality. Wikipedia doesn't develop articles on request of any managers, directors, kings or queens. The articles are curated by the entire community. And I would like to hear an explanation for the totally bogus source I discovered (re JARO, as above). signed, Willondon (talk) 14:15, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Willondon I understand what you're saying, certainly I used a wrong link.
No need for the rude attitude tho, you're an editor, we both are, doesn't matter how much privileges you got.
You just needed to state that the source I used was wrong(coz I hadn't realized that) and just as I've understood now, I would have done so.
Peace Be With You.
And Thank You By The Way Pro Art Editer (talk) 14:26, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon

Hello Pro Art Editer. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Pro Art Editer. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Pro Art Editer|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. --VVikingTalkEdits 14:37, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Other Issues

[edit]

Information icon Hi Pro Art Editer! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. --VVikingTalkEdits 14:37, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you.--VVikingTalkEdits 14:37, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Pro Art Editer! Your additions to Kalifah Aganaga have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 02:04, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kalifah Aganaga moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Kalifah Aganaga, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 10:19, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jack Rollen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]
