Is it appropriate to create a list of manufacturers operating in a particular product domain?
This is with regard to the page RC Aircraft Kit Manufacturers (talk).
- Yes, it is. However, you started a new article, not a list. I will go ahead and tell you that I'm not an expert on this, but here are the Wiki guidelines for lists: WP:LISTS. Like I just posted on the article's talk, I'm willing to help with anything I can. I have no desire to discourage an editor with good intentions. I've been patrolling new pages all night and you have no idea how many vandalistic articles are created. Also, you could protect your article by creating it as a subpage or sandbox (which is a type of subpage) where you could work on it without it getting deleted. Oh, and talk page posts should be signed using four tildes (~~~~). That will post your username and the time you posted; it makes it easier to follow a conversation. Happy editing! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 02:39, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for your offer to assist with the creation of the new page RC Aircraft Kit Manufacturers. For the record, you flagged the page for speedy deletion 48 minutes after its creation. Please give editors a little breathing room to flesh out the intended content. Thank you for pointing out the existence of the work in progress tag. I will work for a bit longer to add more content to this page. I hope other RC plane experts will assist with this effort. Jboulder (talk) 03:14, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to have jumped on it that quickly. And thanks for your understanding. I will be watching the page and assisting when possible. I hope your experience as a Wiki editor will be much better than the way I began it. Good luck. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 03:16, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
I've added the beginnings of a comprehensive list of information about manufacturers. Please take a look & let me know if you agree that the content is acceptable. I will leave the Work In Progress tag to encourage others who are more expert than me to add content. Thank you for the help bringing this page to life! Jboulder (talk) 04:09, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Looks great so far! I tried to fix the link to www.rc-airplane-world.com, but it doesn't seem to be linking properly. Not sure what's wrong with that. I may do a little research and see if I can find an experienced editor to help you. Happy editing! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:11, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
I've fixed the www.rc-airplane-world.com link. Jboulder (talk) 04:17, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- I saw! I got within one character of getting that right..ugh! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:19, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
PJTF invite
I want to invite you to join the Percy Jackson task force. Pmlineditor 15:44, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the invite. I'll look around on the PJTF page some and think about it. I do own Battle of the Labyrinth and Last Olympian, so it may be easier for me to look up some things. Also, thanks for making the edit about paperback on Battle of the Labyrinth! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 17:03, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi
Hi! Welcome to Wikipedia! This is Airplaneman. I'm also on the PJTF. One thing to do when you respond to comments is to put a colon before you type. Like you, I'm trying to improve the Percy Jackson articles, and like you, I don't have much time. Now, If you want to rewrite the Romance section in Percy's article, you can start your very own sandbox. How? Create the page User:PrincessofLlyr/Sandbox. I guess I've already typed out the link for you, so all you have to do is click on it and save the page. For example, here's my sandbox. To start the revision process, just click on the "edit" button on Percy's page and go and copy the section into your sandbox and off you go. I can help if you want. Again, welcome, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask on my talk. Happy editing! Airplaneman (talk) 23:07, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Like that? Thanks for the welcome! I'm still a bit lost in the Wiki guidelines and protocol. Thanks for mentioning the sandbox; I had seen it but wasn't exactly sure how to use one. It might be a few days before I can really start working on the article, but that will definitely be a priority. So far I've just been patrolling and correcting the small mistakes I've seen. Thanks again! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 00:01, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, like that! It's nice to see that not every account here is created for vandalism (you'll be surprised at how many are :O). Don't worry about being lost. You'll soon be fine. If you want, I can drop a welcome template here with lots of links to relevant Wikipedia-related guides. See you around Wikipedia! Airplaneman (talk) 12:36, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I really don't understand why someone would create an account with the sole purpose of vandalism. It is so pointless. The welcome template would be great. There are just some things, especially when it comes to editing, that I still don't understand. I've been using a lot of trial and error! You're the one working to condense the PJ character page, right? I was glad that someone was working on it, because that was one of the first things I noticed after reading through it. Anyway, thanks for the help! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 14:27, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- OK, here it is:
EDIT: Hehe, it's a bit messed up. Not sure why.
Welcome!
Welcome to Wikipedia, PrincessofLlyr/Archives/2010! I have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Hi! Had a little free time and took a peek. Removed a comma I thought was out of place. Otherwise (after a quick skim) it looks great. We might want to incorporate it into the article soon. :-) Here's the diff. --Airplaneman (talk) 14:37, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking! Normally, I wouldn't argue a comma and you may even know more about punctuation than I do, but I'm not sure I like the sentence without a comma. I suppose if the comma is breaking grammatical rules I could just rewrite the sentence. However, the comma was there to separate when Percy said she would be his biggest "what if" from him not saying he loved her. Without the comma, the phrase "when he leaves" sounds like it applies to him never saying he's in love with her. Did that make any sense? Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 16:22, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if you are breaking any rules or not, so I think a rewrite would be the best... Airplaneman (talk) 19:05, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- I tried rewriting it. I was also thinking I should add something in there about him requesting she be freed from exile. Maybe I'll go read that chapter again! Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 19:51, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello?
Hello? Airplaneman talk 15:48, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was on Wikibreak for awhile, but I forgot to put up a box before I left! I'll be around, but it might be a day or two before I start editing again. What do you think about the Calypso section? PrincessofLlyr (talk) 23:33, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Welcome back! As for Calypso, please see here. Regards, Airplaneman talk 23:24, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Original research tag
There's no indication as to where that information came from. Please see WP:PLOT. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 18:46, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Userboxes
I noticed that you have put some userboxes on your userpage. You don't have to do this, but if you want to, you can organize them in a column down the right side of your userpage by putting them between {{userboxtop}} and {{userboxbottom}}. Regards, Airplaneman talk 20:39, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'm still working on those; it takes such a long time to go through all of them!PrincessofLlyr (talk) 20:41, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Your welcome :). My sister is also horse crazy :D. Airplaneman talk 20:43, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think most girls are! They're gorgeous animals! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 20:47, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I guess so. My sister would definitely agree. I'm plane crazy (hmmm... maybe that's why my username is Airplaneman). Airplaneman talk 21:06, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't met too many guys that are horse crazy, so I guess that's fairly normal. Do you actually fly? PrincessofLlyr (talk) 00:17, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- In planes, yea, I fly in planes. I can't actually fly, though; I don't have wings*sigh*. Oh, and if you move your grouping of userboxes to the top of your userpage (like, it's the first text you see when you open up the edit form, instead of your userbox grouping being the last text you see in the edit form), the stuff will stick to the right instead of being below all of the text (I hope I'm making sense here). It's just a matter of preference, though. Airplaneman talk 06:39, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

I think you knew what I meant! If you could actually fly with wings I would be very surprised! The suggestion about userboxes makes perfect sense; I'll mess around with it some today. I'll be adding more when I have time, so it makes sense not to have them all long down at the end. I'm kind of surprised at the variety of userboxes that have been created. The Wiki users obviously have wide and varied tastes! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 12:57, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yea, I agree. Wikipedians have a very wide range of tastes and opinions; you've found this, right? Also, what are your plans for the Warrior Heir, Wizard Heir, and Dragon Heir books? Do you think you'll start them as subpages or in your sandbox? Airplaneman talk 18:41, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, that's what I found. About starting the articles, probably I'll start in my sandbox; first clearing the PJ section and then starting work on Warrior Heir. In case you haven't seen, the only related article right now is Heir trilogy, which I've done a little bit of work on. I thought about mentioning my idea to the author, but I wasn't impressed with his userpage, so I didn't try that. Thanks for the help! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 01:23, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, I started a little bit of work, but have quickly discovered that not owning this book is going to make life difficult since I can't remember all the details. I'll try to fix that! Also, to discuss the work maybe we could move that to my sandbox talk? PrincessofLlyr (talk) 01:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Sure! After this post, the discussion will go to your talk page sandbox :). I'll do a little research to gain some background knowledge on the books. Looks like we might have to create Cinda Williams Chima's page too. It's been deleted several times. And yea, Vikesfan9979, the author of The Heir Trilogy page, hasn't been active since March so that was a good call on your part. Airplaneman talk 04:56, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

PJTF Welcome Template
Hello, PrincessofLlyr. There is now a template to be used for welcoming potential PJTF members! It is {{PJwel}}. When put as {{subst:PJwel}} on a user's talk page, it turns out as:
- Hello, PrincessofLlyr! I'd like to invite you to join the Percy Jackson task force! We (obviously) work on improving PJ articles and would appreciate your help. Cheers!
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please visit the template's talk page. Thanks, Airplaneman talk 04:25, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Reverts
Hello. I see that you are reverting much vandalism on the PJ pages; THANK YOU! One tool that might help is rollback. With it, you can revert obvious vandalism in one click. I like to use a tool called Twinkle along with it, as it allows you to restore pages (for example, reverting multiple vandals), warn users, and give revert edit summaries. A tool called Friendly helps me welcome users. To apply for rollback, just ask an administrator. I'm not asking you to get rollback, but I think it'll make reverting easier. Regards, Airplaneman talk 19:48, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll give it a try. I have found that I don't have time to make lots of major edits during the school year, so reverting vandals is nice and quick! Happy editing! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 00:10, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Rollback
I've granted you rollback. Remember that rollback is only to be used on vandalism; for good-faith edits, please use undo or manual revert with an edit summary. If you want to test out rollback, you can head here. Also, it would be good if you got into the habit of warning vandals on their talk page that they're doing something wrong after reverting their edits. May the blood of our vandal-enemies flow like rain on a spring day! :) Cheers, bibliomaniac15 03:30, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll try to be really careful. "May the blood of our vandal-enemies flow like rain on a spring day!" Um, isn't that a bit violent? PrincessofLlyr (talk) 14:28, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Congrats on getting rollback! Airplaneman talk 03:15, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I've already used it once, much easier! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 15:41, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- Congrats on getting rollback! Airplaneman talk 03:15, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Assessing stuff
Hey, I saw your comment on the WP:NOVELS signup page about assessment. WP:ASSESSOR, a script which helps you add WikiProject banners to talk pages if that's what you're aiming to do. I haven't tried it (I ran into it just yesterday) because it's going to be integrated into a new script called Dazzle! which is still in beta. I'm going to try it after posting this! Regards, Airplaneman talk 23:23, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'll have to take a look. Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 02:54, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- I took a look at WP:BLP's assessment department and saw your request, which I tried my best to fill. The article, I think, is start class. Most notably, it needs more references and the lead needs to be expanded. He is of low importance because info on him is not vital/needed for a good grasp on the topics of biographies or Mexican Americans. Regards, Airplaneman talk 21:55, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- By the way, I've tried out the ASSESSOR tool and it's very incomplete. There are many many more wikiprojects on this site than those listed in the choices for the tool. When it gets put into DAZZLE!, I'm sure it'll get fixed up. Airplaneman talk 21:58, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the assessment and the info. I'll keep an eye on the tool and maybe try it out. Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 00:26, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. I'm just going to wait a bit longer for other opinions. Brambleclawx (talk) 22:00, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Yup :). It really isn't as hard as some users' I've encountered because it's just /secretpage, but yea, congrats for being one of the first to find it! Airplaneman talk 19:24, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Happy 2010!
Airplaneman talk has given you a kitten! Kittens promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Kittens must be fed three times a day and will be your faithful companion forever! Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a kitten, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
Spread the goodness of kittens by adding {{subst:Kitten}} to someone's talk page with a friendly message!
Airplaneman talk 04:12, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! But the kitten might fight with my dog...maybe I'll have to keep it inside! It is cute! Oh, I've been working on the new page patrol-WOW! There are so many vandal articles or poorly written pieces! I'm in shock. Happy New Year! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:16, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh, but there is something you could help with! If you're busy, no problem, I'll do it. I'm looking for a Wikiproject or experienced editor to help with RC Aircraft Kit Manufacturers. You can see the discussion about it at the top of my talk page. I feel bad about tagging it now! Like I said, if you're busy and/or can't think of anything off the top of your head, I'll just keep researching. Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:23, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'll be away for a week starting tomorrow. I'll take a closer look when I come back. Yea, one finds a lot of junk at NPP. Are you using a script for it by any chance? Airplaneman talk 04:25, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yea, I'm watching your page, but it can get lost in the sea of changes in my watchlist :). I use User:J.delanoy/newpage.js to help me patroll new pages. Airplaneman talk 04:27, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, I was about to ask you to define script. I'm using that too! And I'll remember that you're watching my pages. I watch all pages that I edit, so all of yours are on my list! Happy vacation! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:30, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)Oh, and a warning: you'll get some (but not many) angry comments from NPP work. Also, I suggest being very conservative with the use of the CSD tag, especially for #A7 (people). I speak from experience :(. I think you've done great patrolling so far. Thanks, Airplaneman talk 04:33, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm... a script is a code, pretty much, that performs a function. If you haven't found it already, here's a repository of scripts. Airplaneman talk 04:36, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, about everything! I have actually been using CSD a lot, but try to not post if I have any doubt. I'll be really careful from now on. Mostly it's been totally vandalistic stuff. And I try to just keep cool, even if someone else is being an idiot! About scripts, I'm learning to do stuff, but I don't do a lot with computer stuff. I'm off for the night. Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:41, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

(edit conflict)Yea, that's a good strategy. What's scary is how mad people can get — in front of a screen! Scripts basically just tell the computer to do something; I don't know a whole lot about the coding, either. Good night! Airplaneman talk 04:48, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Pingu Is Introduced
Hello PrincessofLlyr. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Pingu Is Introduced, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to television programs. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:14, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll remember. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 14:48, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yea, when in doubt, tag for AfD or PROD ;). Regards, Airplaneman talk 16:38, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Devir Kahan
Hi. You tagged this for speedy just now, and it certainly deserved to go (and has gone), but WP:CSD#G4 wasn't the right tag - that is only for articles that have previously been deleted by an AfD, not by PROD or speedy. In this case it had previously been speedied, and then the right tag is usually the same speedy again. There is good advice for speedy taggers at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Keep up the good work! JohnCD (talk) 16:56, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll do some reading and hopefully get it right next time. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 16:58, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
