Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page List of fictional dogs in video games has been reverted.
Your edit here to List of fictional dogs in video games was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline (see also this list of frequently-discussed sources). The reference(s) you added or changed (https://thelastofus.fandom.com/wiki/Alice, https://okami.fandom.com/wiki/Amaterasu, https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Sant'_Angelo_di_Roma) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. [edit]

Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Chlidonophoridae. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 13:47, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Valorant

[edit]

Hi PrathuCoder,

I appreciate you taking the time to edit Wikipedia, but this is not helping. Concerning your edits on Valorant, please take a moment to read Wikipedia's guidelines on video game articles, see WP:VG/MOS.

  • We don't add an in-text link to a website for people to download the game.
  • You've linked the characters. None of these exist yet. Maybe create them before creating so many redlinks?
  • I don't think in-game game modes deserve their own article at all
  • We don't use "you" in articles, see WP:YOU ("Radianite Points are another in-game currency which allows you to upgrade animation levels or get extra colors for a skin. You need not pay money to get it, It comes from agent contracts.")
  • Lore is written from an in-universe point of view and is WP:PRIMARY sourced

soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 14:04, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Soetermans Ok and thanks for correcting my edits. I'm new on wikipedia and I have unfortunately missed out on these things. But I think that red links make other wikipedians know that there are no articles and they can help create them. Also, as you said, lore is primary sourced but it is published by the official site itself. I didn't add theories but fundamental things that are approved by everyone. This makes something encyclopedic and I thought it can be added. PrathuCoder (talk) 14:11, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi PrathuCoder, thank you for understanding and welcome to Wikipedia! Please, don't let my critical tone scare you off! You're very right, a WP:REDLINK doesn't necessarily have to be avoided in articles, if there's a possible article on the subject.
I'm not familiar with Valorant, but instead of having separate articles on the characters, maybe a List of Valorant characters is an option? We do need good coverage on them, separate from the game itself (see [[WP:NOTINHERITED and WP:SIGCOV), because I've nominated a bunch of those through the years (see Ratchet & Clank characters, playable characters in WWF/E, Diablo, Spyro or Rampage.
Concerning game modes, if they just appear in one game, my guess is that won't ever be notable. However, certain game modes found in many games do have their own articles, like deathmatch or Last man standing (video games).
Again, welcome to Wikipedia. I see you've already received praise for editing articles on biology-related stuff, so great job. If you have any question, feel free to ask. I'll try to check your talk page, otherwise you can use the templae {{reply|'username here'}}, and I'll get a notification (or another user will of course too). Kind regards, and happy editing. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 13:36, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I wasn't totally scared of your critical tone but thanks for understanding me too. Agents in valorant have a bunch of abilities (4 to be exact) and they need to be explained (You're not familiar with it so go to the official site and see a couple of agents and you'll get it). And wikipedia always likes to use summary style so this is obviously the better option than making one huge gigantic article. This will take time but who cares (It has so many reliable sources to make it faster)? But could you speak a little bit about the lore part? (Its primary sourced but its accepted and official, thus encyclopedic (but debatable), (Maybe fandom is better for it?)). The game modes could be made one article (A middle between over-summary-style and one huge long intricate article) but if I get large amounts of information I could make them separate.
Note I haven't linked or formatted anything except the official site because you're an experienced wikipedian and I hope you can understand it and because I don't think the talk is important to be of good quality but the articles. PrathuCoder (talk) 15:25, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Soetermans: I would like to be keen to make sure my articles to this topic are not something fan related (Like lore theories or something opinion based). I wouldn't like to be a burden to you but If you could help me it could be great for creating articles for agents. But this article is actually quite suited for fandom more than wikipedia but keeping it encyclopedic would avoid deletion. (It has not happened to the main Valorant article so I think I'm on the safe side). PrathuCoder (talk) 15:34, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Chlidonophora incerta and others

[edit]

I like your work on biological taxa, like Chlidonophora incerta! My only complaint is that some of the typographical formatting doesn't quite follow our manual of style, specifically MOS:SCIENTIFIC and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Organisms. If you take a moment to peruse these guidelines, I'm sure your future articles will be even better! Cheers! —Wasell(T) 🌻🇺🇦 11:57, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Wasell thanks for informing me. I' getting better at this (See the difference between Chlidonophoridae and Chlidonophora incerta). I'm still a new wikipedian and I'm all ears for information from others like you. This was something very important and I thought every taxon has to be italicized. But, do I need to italicize the titles for taxa above genus like family? Also, does taxa above genus mean family and onward or does it also include supergenus and subfamily? [edit]

Please don't link words that most English speakers know such as "Germany" "American", "album", etc. See wp:OVERLINK. Also, linking a word to the same article, "Proadiantus" results in the word being bolded, but not linked. Such links are not good practice. See wp:linking. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 13:01, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for the revertion of incorrect linking. But in pages like Proadiantus, I want `Proadiantus' bolded everywhere, so I linked it. Many others use this and none debate about it. Yet, thanks for the information as I am quite a new wikipedian. PrathuCoder (talk) 13:09, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Quit doing that. See MOS:BOLD. —Wasell(T) 🌻🇺🇦 18:37, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article List of box office records set by Kantara has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't appear to be many news articles talking about how Kantara sets a bunch of records in depth.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
