Image sizes

[edit]

I see you have added a lot of images to the Serbia article using px sizes.
I have removed the sizes and added "upright" to the upright images. The reason for doing this is that people look at Wikipedia on a wide variety of screens from wall-sized, to desktop, tablet and phone. They can set their preferred size for thumbnail images in Preferences > Appearance > Files, so someone using a large screen can choose larger thumbnail images, while those using a small screen can choose smaller thumbnail images. Files with fixed sizes appear that size, so may be much smaller than the reader wants if they are using a large screen, or much larger than they want if using a small screen. For this reason we do not normally set a px size.

The specific guidance is at Wikipedia:Image use policy specifically the section WP:THUMBSIZE which states:-

syntax such as thumb|300px simply sets a fixed image width, ignoring the user's base preference. In general, do not use px without very good reason; upright=scaling factor is preferred wherever sensible.
Where px is used, the resulting image should be no more than 500 pixels tall and no more than 400 pixels wide, for comfortable display on the smallest devices in common use.

Proposed deletion of Vojvodjanski magazin

[edit]

The article Vojvodjanski magazin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

May not be notable. Could not find any thing worth in Google. Please add references if notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Country maps - WP:WATERMARK

Hello Portlannd, please don't add watermarked or credited maps (or other images) to Wikipedia articles. See WP:WATERMARK for more information. Thank you for your consideration. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 16:48, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

and in any case do not mass add maps to multiple articles without clear consensus that those specific maps add relevant information.
in addition the choice of cities in the Netherlands maps seems fairly random as many province capitals are missing, while minor cities with less population than those province capitals are shown. What are the exact criteria for adding the cities (cannot be governmental relevance cannot be population)? Similarly on the France map, Bordeaux is not shown while the nearby much much smaller Limoges is, why is Caen shown but the close by much larger capital of Bretagne: Rennes is not. Who has decided on which cities to list? Since you place these maps please give us the exact rationale for above choices for cities to show. Without that these maps are utterly worthless. Image edits at Serbia

[edit]

Hi! Please, do not take this too offensive, but I think that your edits at "Serbia" are disruptive. You keep adding and changing images every day without discussing it on the talk page and without leaving WP:edit summaries. The Serbia article is very busy article, and controversial changes should not be made without discussing them first and reaching consensus with other editor. I know that you just want the article to look good, but the way you are doing that is disruptive. I propose you not to make any image-related edit at the Serbia article (and also Croatia, Belgrade and any other article) before discussing the intended edit with other editors at the talk page and reaching WP:consensus. Vanjagenije (talk) 23:50, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes , I am very persistent guy.Serbia is a very divided society and for every picture I have to consider whether they are sufficiently represented one of the two existing ideology .If you leave out one , the other side being aggressive .For example, mentioning President Tito , a communist , a Second World War , etc. And on the other nationalist and pro-Western part of the state , also each image must be such that it does not go in conflict with pages of other states of the former Yugoslavia. I'm sorry, but all around us is the policy and must find a balance in order not to go into the feelings of the people . --Portlannd (talk) 22:00, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am just asking from you to discuss those edits with other editors on the talk page before you make them. You don't own that article or any other. Your consistent everyday editing of images without any discussion and without edit summary is very disruptive. Take this as a friendly advice: don't make any edits to that page before discussing them on the talk page. Vanjagenije (talk) 02:20, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Srbija, Srbija

[edit]

--Portlannd (talk) 11:01, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
