Lifting the Gibraltar DYK restrictions

[edit]

A couple of months ago, you opposed a proposal to lift the restrictions on Gibraltar-related DYKs, which were imposed in September 2012. Could you possibly clarify (1) under what conditions you would support a lifting of the restrictions, and (2) when you think it would be appropriate to lift the restrictions? Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Zhang Xiaodong, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 1992 Olympics (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GLA University requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. A Wild Abigail Appears! Capture me. Worried about Section A7 Speedy Deletion

[edit]

Hi Pharaoh - thanks for your welcome note.

I have been researching several artists' recent work in London and my research has led me to spend time with one specific gallery - The Paul Stolper Gallery in Museum Street. Paul has been really helpful to me and generous with his time; he has published several portfolios by Peter Blake, Jeremy Deller, Damien Hirst, etc.

These portfolios are, for the most part, missing from their various bio pages and are, in my opinion, important additions to their ouevres.

The problem is that The Paul Stolper Gallery is, clearly, a commercial enterprise. I would like to create a page for it, so that I can link back to that page and reference PS as a significant force on the contemporary London art scene. Is this page likely to be deleted for being about a commercial enterprise? What should I do to prevent this? I do feel that it's important to flag up the source of an artist's work, even if the publisher published the edition for commercial gain.

Thank you for your consideration.

--LondonArtLover (talk) 09:35, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message and my apology for the delay in replying. The mere fact that Paul Stolper Gallery is a commercial enterprise does not make it a candidate for deletion it depends on the content and the References. On first look it does appear to be notable Google Books and Google Scholar .WP:A7 refers to No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events) and WP:G11 which deals with Unambiguous advertising or promotion may apply to comemrical enterprises. But if you are able to edit neutral fashion with references it will not an issue.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 06:42, 16 June

Thank you Pharoah - that is most helpful - I will get the information together over the next few days and let you know when I Post. --LondonArtLover (talk) 08:25, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Atemoztli has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Violation of WP:NAD.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  TOW  talk  10:04, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Pharaoh of the Wizards. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Tlaxochimaco, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.  TOW  talk  10:05, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
