October 2008

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Punta. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Edit summaries

[edit]

Looking at your edits, I may have been wrong to revert what looked to me like vandalism. If so, I apologise; but whenever you make an edit, please summarise what you have done in the Edit summary box. Large deletions with no edit summary are a typical sign of a vandal; if you explain your edits by means of edit summaries, mistakes are much less likely. You can set your user preferences (under Editing) to "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" so that you get a reminder if you forget .Regards, JohnCD (talk) 19:52, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Punta

[edit]

Hi. You deleted some material from the Punta article without indicating why you did so in your edit summary, and you added material without any references for purposes of verification. Can you please let me know why you deleted the material, and see if you can find a citation to add for the new material? —Largo Plazo (talk) 00:48, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Garifuna Edits

[edit]

You may not be aware that copying text from other websites is only allowed if they have an explicit license that lets you do so. Your recent edits to the Garifuna page copied material from http://www.clas.ufl.edu/users/afburns/afrotrop/Garifuna.htm, a page maintained by Allan Burns, a University of Florida dean and faculty member. The website does not grant you permission to copy it. These changes will have to be backed out as a result. Sorry about that. Rsheptak (talk) 20:43, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Belizean people

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Belizean people. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Belizean people. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

gender in Garifuna

[edit]

I changed 'masculine/feminine singular' to 'singular, male/female speaker in the pronoun chart at Garifuna language. If I used a 2sg feminine pronoun, it would mean you are female, but AFAIK in Garifuna the form is used if I am female. Please correct me if I'm wrong. — kwami (talk) 02:30, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Shyne, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Belizean (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Paranda music listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Paranda music. Since you had some involvement with the Paranda music redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Kaldari (talk) 18:56, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
