Speedy deletion of Boy Gé Mendes

A tag has been placed on Boy Gé Mendes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. -- btphelps (talk) (contribs) 12:05, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

It sounds like an interesting book and film. :) Could you please back up the claims made in the article by adding reliable references? If you feel adventurous you can use the format detailed below, but you don't have to. I'd be happy to do the formatting for you if you provide the information. Providing references is crucial to ensure all the information is verifiable by our readers (and other editors). - Mgm|(talk) 11:17, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Margaret E. Platon

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Margaret E. Platon, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unreferenced BLP since 2006 which doesn't appear to claim notability - WP:BIO

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. File source problem with File:Cbfry2.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Cbfry2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:50, 11 June 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jay32183 (talk) 02:50, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Sasharegan.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly (Parrot) 21:57, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

§ I have created a new version of the image with all the copyright requirements fully met. You can find it on wikimedia at <Sasha Regan, Union Theatre, London PB040039.jpg>.

I would have put it on the page myself except that I seem unable to delete the Template which is preventing it from being displayed.

A tag has been placed on 2880 names in Bibliomonde auteur files requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Peripatetic! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 35 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Thank you for starting the article on Michael Meyer

Thank you for starting the article on Michael Meyer, the well-known translator of Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg. I agreed that this was a necessary article - I remember looking in the past and being surprised to see that Wikipedia lacked an article on this person (it must have been before February 2009, when this article was made) So good for you and many thanks - you have done a good service for Wikipedia ACEOREVIVED (talk) 21:55, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

The article Ekhlasuddin Ahmed has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The claims in the article would meet WP:N. A fairly indepth search has not turned up any sources to verify the claims as required by WP:BLP. Unsourced BLP for 3 years.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The article Annabel Walker has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The BLP has been unsourced for nearly three years. I searched for independent coverage and found nothing substantial. Due to the paucity of coverage, the individual appears not to meet the notability requirements of WP:GNG or WP:AUTHOR.

The article Rosalind Belben has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Patrick Marnham. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

It's called a Wiki. I've done a stub. Feel free to Google and add links. It's all out there. --Peripatetic (talk) 06:43, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Whilst this is a wiki, it seems to me though that increasingly the community consensus is that if you create a new article you have to add references. Without them no one can be sure if the topic is notable or not. As you've said the sources are all out there so why not add some of them in yourself? You obviously want people to know about the subjects that you're writing on so why not make the articles as good as you can? I've helped you out by adding some references to a couple of your articles. Wikipediatastic (talk) 14:25, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Warning regarding continued creation of unsourced articles on living people

Please stop creating unreferenced biographical articles about living individuals in violation of the policy regarding biographies of living people. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory. All articles about livings people are required to have at least one reliable source which can be used to verify information in the article. Any potentially controversial or negative information must be sourced; if it is not, it may be removed immediately. If you continue creating unreferenced biographical articles about living individuals, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to reply here. Thank you for your immediate and continued compliance on this issue. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WikiProject Japan! 07:21, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to List of Saudi Arabian writers. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. HI. You restored material to a list of people the deletion of which had been accompanied by the edit summary "del NN -- no wp article or appropriate independent RS refs -- per WP:LISTPEOPLE." Please read wp:LISTPEOPLE if you do not understand why such uncited material is not appropriate. Best. Epeefleche (talk) 20:48, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Maqbul Moussa al-Alawi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. --DGaw (talk) 02:06, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

World Factoring Yearbook

I'm leaving this message as you're listed as a current participant of WikiProject Business. I was informed yesterday that the current World Factoring Yearbook (circa £150) is now free for download as an ebook. It's a matter of filling out this form. I'm not sure if you'll find this useful as a reliable source, but I thought I should let you know that it's freely available online. I apologise in advance if this doesn't interest you! All the best, The Cavalry (Message me) 15:03, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Sunil krittibas a.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Sunil krittibas a.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:48, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
