The article Charco Press has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Griet Op de Beeck
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Griet Op de Beeck requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://jabbeke.bibliotheek.be/en/catalog/griet-op-de-beeck/het-beste-wat-we-hebben/book/library-marc-vlacc_10075668. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Author stubs
Hallo, I came across Marianne Maury Kaufmann while stub-sorting, and I see that you have created a group of articles recently. Thank you for your contributions, but please take a little more time over these stubs to make a better encyclopedia.
In particular please don't add references which just say "bio" or "interview". A reference should give enough information for the reader to be able to see where the article content has come from - whether it's an authoritative journal or a fan site etc - and if it's an online source you should give the date you retrieved it, because websites change over time. If you are editing using the Ref Tool Bar you can put in the URL and click the "magnifying glass" icon beside it to expand the ref, click the "calendar" icon for "Access date" to add today's date.
There is a very easy way to add the DEFAULTSORT (so the article files by surname in lists), and Category:Living people where appropriate, and any birth or death date category: {{subst:L|1882|1984|Brown, Annie}} would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Brown, Annie}}, Category:1882 births and Category:1984 deaths, while {{subst:L|||Smith, Jane}} would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Smith, Jane}}, Category:Living people and Category:Date of birth missing (living people). Lack of death date implies "living" (or you can add "unknown" or "missing" as the death date to suppress this). You get a lot done for a few keystrokes: I think it's a great little template.
Thanks, and Happy Editing. PamD 08:31, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

Fernando Lobo (Mexican writer) moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Fernando Lobo (Mexican writer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

Your articles
Hi. I see you've been creating a lot of articles, which is great, but it would be good if you slowed down a bit so you can put more effort in each of them. Just for example:
- Johanna Krawczyk: I've tagged this one as possibly non-notable. You're only citing her own publisher and a blog, neither of which are reliable sources. You're aware of Wikipedia's notability guidelines, right?
- Alfonso Barrera Valverde: first of all, you're citing bare URLs, which is easy enough to avoid. Secondly, the only sourced statement is the one about his death, which really doesn't need 5 sources, while all other statements are unsourced, which is definitely a problem.
These are just two examples that I happened to come across, but looking at this talk page it seems I'm not the only one noticing issues with some of your articles. You should absolutely continue to create articles on topics that you think deserve articles, but please consider taking some more time and care for each article you create. Lennart97 (talk) 19:30, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, I now see that PamD advised you pretty much exactly the same back in March, but you seem to have ignored this advice, as you've created plenty of problematic articles since. Please realise that competence is required, and communication too. Lennart97 (talk) 19:41, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

July 14, 7pm: Virtual Coney Island Meetup + NYC monthly collaboration | |
---|---|
You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our monthly online gathering (7-8pm) and knowledge-sharing workshop. To join the meeting from your computer or smartphone, just visit this link. More information about how to connect is available on the meetup page. Instead of our usual "WikiWednesday" Salon, we'll focus on the WikiProject NYC monthly collaboration and this month's subject of Coney Island. And rather than Zoom, we'll meet on a proximity chat virtual Coney Island beach and share over topical articles and collaborations. We look forward to seeing local Wikimedians, but would also like to invite folks from the greater New York metropolitan area (and beyond!) who might not typically be able to join us in person!

New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021
Hello Peripatetic,
Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.
Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.
At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.
There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.
Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.
