File permission problem with File:Mysuru Railway Station 2020.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Mysuru Railway Station 2020.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 00:41, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

- Note - This image and the image in the note above both state the images were take by the "Voice of Mysore". Who or what ois the Voice of Mysore and how are you the copyright holder? -- Whpq (talk) 00:43, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
Hi, Voice of Mysore is an organization promoting development of Mysore which I am a part of. The photo was taken by my friend and I asked him on private message to use it for wikipedia. I uploaded it as my photograph because I am the only member who is active in Wikipedia PareeKatti24 (talk) 08:56, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- You cannot claim to the copyright holder for other people's works. The messages above provide you with instruction on what needs to be done to verify permission of licensing. -- Whpq (talk) 12:00, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
I neither have the time nor the will to take the effort, sorry. What's your problem if the creator doesn't have any problem, plus copyright holder is a group that I am a part of. Are you expecting me to screenshot the conversation and send it to you? Sorry, that's breaching the privacy. You are free to remove it. That's what you get for trying to improve articles.
Oh and btw, I'd like to tell you that I'm only editing these articles because your website is very wrong with the facts. Most of your articles have population figures from 2001, even though 2011 census was held and oh, forget about the uncited sources. I'm only bothered to edit it because Wikipedia unfortunately appears as the first search result and you are spreading TON of MISINFORMATION about not only my city but most of cities of our country. (Well, western elitism for you)
TL;DR - I couldn't care less to contribute when this is how people trying to improve articles are treated. PareeKatti24 (talk) 13:35, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
Oh and also it's 2020, nobody uses email for casual conversation. PareeKatti24 (talk) 13:48, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

Yes, They don’t know anything about our places but they still try to impose their elitism on people who are trying contribute. PareeKatti24 (talk) 14:09, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
Exactly, I've suffered the same thing at so many places, they also do not allow the change of the name of the article Bangalore from Bangalore to Bengaluru, this is so rubbish and they defend their action by stating it's against WP:COMMONNAME, it doesn't make any sense at all, they're just anti-Kannada and even these north Indian users join their side in the anti-Kannada activities Master Sam 77 (talk) 14:14, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

Recent update
[edit]Regarding this, note that the column is as per 2011 census, so it should strictly display the figured taken during that census. The recent UA expansion in Mysore done in 2020 is not relevant to the article since as per its lead - The latest population figures are based on data from the 2011 census of India
. So I'm removing it. Note that. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:36, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
Hi,while I get it, the population is still based on 2011 census but the area has expanded to include more neighbouring villages and thus increasing population. Around 70k population was added due to expansion, but the figure is still derived from 2011 census - City + Outgrowths + Census Towns was 9.9L but recently these Census Towns were converted to municipalities by adding nearby villages, which makes the UA- City+ Outgrowths+new municipalities. The population figure is still using 2011 census but the population of the added vilages are included.
PareeKatti24 (talk) 19:33, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- The inclusion is a recent change and not from 2011, so we can't use it. Consider an analogy if the whole National Capital Region (India) with its 46 million pop (2011) is declared as the "new" Delhi UA in December 2020 which as per 2011 census had only 16 million citizens. It is better to wait for the next census. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:28, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
