Blue Dragon Film Awards

Hi @Paper9oll! I noticed that you have changed the formatting for the Accolades section of Decision to Leave, and separated the wins from the nominations.

I believe we should keep the same order of the award categories as they are presented on the awards pages. For example, the list of awards for 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards should be ordered by Best Film first, then Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, ... in that order. If you check all the past korean films up to last year, that is always the format followed. Please advise. Wheezythewave (talk) 14:57, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi Wheezythewave, in short, No. The format you mentioned above is incorrect format and inconsistency with the recommended format seen across well-maintained A&N/Accolades tables including featured list-classes A&N/Accolades list's articles. If you check all the past Korean films up to last year, that is always the format followed, this is because no one bothered to maintain it, all they care about is copy-pasting it and goodbye onto next article. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 15:42, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi @Paper9oll. Thanks for the quick response.
Can you give some specific examples for well-maintained Accolades tables in the featured list articles? Frankly, I have never seen any Accolades tables before where wins and nominations are grouped separately. Even hollywood films, like The Godfather or Gone with the Wind, which I assume likely have well-maintained Accolades tables due to being frequently edited pages, are grouped by order of categories. Wheezythewave (talk) 16:10, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
@Wheezythewave Fyi, there is no differences between Accolades table and Awards and nominations table, both are same with different heading only. And my terminology of "well-maintained" and "consistency" refers to articles within Wikiproject Korea scope not outside, here are few examples (I don't have time to go dig out a bunch of links) of mixture of television and music ones, List of awards and nominations received by BTS, List of awards and nominations received by Aespa, The Red Sleeve, The King's Affection for your references Paper9oll (🔔📝) 16:38, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
I see. Thank you, that makes sense. And I'm aware A&N = Accolades. Wheezythewave (talk) 20:06, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

NewJeans Wikipage

Did you even READ the justifications I gave for the changes I made before reverting them? First of all, NewJeans doesn't have official positions and a definite leader, the reference list on member Minji where says she is the leader is not from an official source of ADOR who manages the group, the group and its members have already confirmed through its messaging application "Phoning" that the group don't have defined positions and a leader (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh82xzvJJoI). Second, about NewJeans Code in Busan in the Filmography part, the reference itself used in the reference gap says that the program in question is a Reality show. 45.183.20.88 (talk) 01:37, 12 December 2022 (UTC)

Firstly, Wikipedia writes according to what reliable sources mentioned reported as NOT according to fans recorded YouTube videos of the artists with fan-generated subtitles. Secondly, reality shows is a form of television shows. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 02:34, 12 December 2022 (UTC)

About AndyFung98

Hi Paper9oll, I would like your advice on how to get through to AndyFung98 about following the Wikipedia Manuel of Style. This editor keeps using the original all-caps style of albums when editing in 2022 in South Korean music. I would like the editor to stop but the editor does not respond on their talk page. Should I report the editor to administrators? Lightoil (talk) 08:07, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

@Lightoil Yes they should be reported to administrators at WP:ANI, their behaviour is considered as disruptive editing as they refuse to WP:LISTEN in which all editors are required to WP:COMMUNICATE. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 08:16, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Okay thanks for your advice Lightoil (talk) 08:20, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Seventeen

hi regarding to the removal of my contibution to the article can you please put it back it doesn't have a citation because I need to rest so I couldn't put it anymore, regarding also in seventeens numbers of nominations and wins I counted everything. So I'm asking if you can put it back again cause its hard to find. Thank You! 110.235.178.10 (talk) 06:23, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

@110.235.177.10 NO! Please read WP:BURDEN and WP:RS. In addition, sources like Soompi, Allkpop, Koreaboo, etc are considered unreliable sources per WP:KO/RS hence any sources listed under WP:KO/RS#UR would be reverted when added onto articles maintained under the WikiProject Korea scope in which you did that. Lastly, DO NOT link Wikipedia as source per WP:CIRCULAR which you also did. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 06:54, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
Oh okay, sorry my bad, I didn't know that Soompi, Allkpop. Koreaboo, etc was considered as unreliable sources and my bad also for using wikipedia as a source. I act badly and sounded disrespectful and I think I won't edit anymore as I did a mistake. Please edit seventeen's List of Awards and Nominations properly and keep it updated. Thank you and Sorry. 110.235.178.10 (talk) 15:25, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
@110.235.177.10 No worries, thankfully you understood the guidelines and policies well. You can still continue to contribute constructive as long as you provide reliable sources that isn't listed under WP:KO/RS#UR and not marked as unreliable source under WP:RS/P. Fyi, blogs (Blogspot, Wordpress, Medium, etc) and forums are considered as unreliable sources per WP:SPS hence can't be used as citations here. Social media posts (from official accounts only) can be used as citations but its usage should be caution, secondary reliable news sources should always be used instead if available. Tagging of Dispute with Hook Entertainment

Hi, regarding the tagging on this section under LeeSeungGi Wiki page, may I ask what is the solution to address this? Since I can’t redirect this to a different page as well. Carol6677 (talk) 16:43, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

@Carol6677 The maintenance template is already self-explanatory if you even bothered reading. The section contains an excessive amount of intricate detail that may interest only a particular audience, in addition, it's also heavily coatracked with unnecessary detail that interest only a particular audience. The section is also heavily violates WP:NOTNEWS. In short, summaries the key points only. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 16:50, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

Extraordinary Attorney Woo

Hi @Paper9oll, you recently reverted an edit made by User:Irishhawk on the Extraordinary Attorney Woo page, without providing an explanation. Can you please clarify why this was done and why you didn't leave an edit summary? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 05:55, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

@Revirvlkodlaku WOW WOW WOW ... is this seriously a question??? Regardless ... Firstly, the reversion is already self-explanatory but since you couldn't exactly understand why then read go Template:Infobox television#Parameters. Secondly, edit summary is not a must but encourage which I as WP:XC completely embed into my mind however I don't see the need to feed IPs with edit summaries when they are simply either too bored and/or are trolling around. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 06:16, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
@Paper9oll you really could do better than having such a condescending attitude to other editors. Your revert isn't self-explanatory, Template:Infobox television#Parameters demonstrates that you are mistaken. The show has been renewed, so it should say "present". Lastly, you don't always need to leave an edit summary, but when you revert someone else's work, you should always do so. This is professional and courteous.Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:02, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
@Revirvlkodlaku Not interested in addressing your first sentence. Pertaining to your second sentence, it should be self-explanatory for the pros, I'm actually surprised that you needed me to explain it when you have edited tons of articles in mainspace of various genres, to me personally, it's obvious, however it's alright, for sake of other editors, I will write it out to them for context. I'm not mistaken even though I know that there is second season already confirmed for 2024, however the current practice throughout all South Korea television series that has confirmed seasons beyond 1st season is to maintain the last aired date till the 1st episode of new season started airing. Even if we were to go by the book (template's documentation), it also clearly stated that if the 1st episode of the new season that would aired and/or confirmed to aired 12 months or beyond, the end date of last aired episode of the last season should be used instead. Le Sserafim Wiki

Why do you keep deleting my edits? I find it weird when i’ve sourced (1) Garam’s instagram account with her post of the official school document , (2) a kpop news source for my edits. How is it disruptive in any way? The wiki gives very vague information about why her contract was terminated, so i just added five words to clear it up which has been removed two times. Mei090197 (talk) 14:14, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

@Mei090197 Both are unreliable sources per WP:SOCIALMEDIA and WP:KO/RS#UR. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 14:20, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

@Mei090197 Your latest edit still shows that your action doesn't tally with your words of "I'll try to fine a more reliable website before i edit again" as you added WP:SPS and WP:UCG. Please go and read the entire WP:VERIFY and in particularly on WP:SOURCE and WP:NOTRELIABLE, and also the entire WP:RS. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 16:31, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
Please check my sources before disproving them. I really don’t understand what wikipedia wants as a source. Even an official post from the person involved is not ‘reliable enough’. Videos, articles, none are enough. This case is not high profile enough to be talked about by the new york times, or any other big news names. Will be linking a post from namu after this, i really don’t care if you suspend this account because as i mentioned, it is very important to let people know about her innocence in this case (5 words mind you) which you have been continuously preventing me to do. The wiki has very vague mentions of her, and does not go into the events after her dismissal or even a mention of her innocence being proven by records from the school violence commitee. It’s such a shame that wikipedia is preventing such an important factor in the group’s history from being published in an article. Mei090197 (talk) 16:39, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
@Mei090197 Your rants IS NOT my problem. I had linked the relevant WP:GUIDELINES and WP:POLICIES pages for you to read on however you blatantly decided not to do so as you boldly stated above. And btw, Namuwiki is considered as unreliable source per WP:KO/RS#UR in which I have also linked this page above if you even bothered viewing it which I doubt you did otherwise you wouldn't be stating that boldly above. The WP:BURDEN is on you to provide a reliable source to prove it in which WP:KO/RS#R listed a bunch of South Korean news agencies which are considered as reliable sources, if these bunch of South Korean news agencies reported it then the content would have been included by regular editors of the article, however there may be a possibilities that such information MAY have been omitted due to WP:VNOT. Le Sserafim is South Korean group and Kim Ga-ram is also South Korean hence don't come and bullshit me that there isn't such news published by South Korean news agencies, you wanted to add that sentence hence as stated earlier, the WP:BURDEN is on to prove it NOT my responsibility to prove it. Extraordinary Attorney Woo

Hi @Paper9oll, thank you for your continued input on the Extraordinary Attorney Woo page. Recently, you reverted an edit made by User:Irishhawk, and you opened your summary with the words "learn how to read". This is condescending and rude, besides being unnecessary. You stress on your talk page that anyone wishing to communicate with you should be cooperative and respectful. Please be sure to extend the same treatment to other editors. Thank you. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 03:23, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

@Revirvlkodlaku Well it's appropriate imo as Irishhawk reverted a revision which clearly already has intensive length of explanation in the edit summary, if he/she doesn't bothered reading and decided to reverted without due care with their reasoning of "reference exists" then there is nothing I can do other than asking them to "learn how to read" (maybe using "please read first" would be more kind but it may be also considered "condescending, rude, and unnecessary" for you, interpretation varies depending on multiple factors such as person, countries, regions, etc.) properly first. The reversion imo is also reckless with reasoning that imo is a complete disregard of the template's documentation (which is clearly mentioned and linked in the reversion's edit summary that he/she reverted on) and in turn WP:MOS hence in my view is no intention of cooperation. Imo, this is equivalent to disruptive editing by insisting to add back something when other editors already provided a reasoning which is in accordance to official guidelines and not something pucked out of thin air, just like one does not add something that WP:NEXIST because it's fact without getting reverted. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 03:39, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
I'm not convinced by your evaluation of the situation. You are being uncharitable to Irishawk, attributing motives to them that there is scant evidence for. Regardless, I'm not here to argue with you but to encourage you once more to avoid using condescending language, as that is never acceptable, no matter how justified you believe your position to be. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 04:33, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
@Revirvlkodlaku Well I'm not convincing you just replying to you. Neither am I interested with arguing with you. I also don't see how "learn how to read" is considered as condescending, I don't view the word/term/meaning of condescending as such, as mentioned earlier the word/term/meaning is opened to multiple interpretation and varies depending on multiple factors such as person, countries, regions, etc. Regardless, I will reword my sentence and include words like "Please" which is much kinder ("learn how to read" is already kind enough but anyway...) and less agressive in the future. Edit Summaries

Not to be blunt but I feel like you need to chill a tiny bit with your edit summaries a bit because when you post a thing yelling at someone in your edit summary, someone patrolling recent changes will get concerned and have to investigate. Running Man

You should really brush up on your Wikipedia guidelines. MOS:DONTHIDE is a guideline, which means it has passed community scrutiny and is accepted as good and best practice. Wikipedia:COMMONSENSE, on the other hand, redirects to Wikipedia:What "Ignore all rules" means which is an essay. That means it has zero weight in any discussion and is basically a personal opinion. Trying to use a Wikipedia:COMMONSENSE rational to ignore MOS:DONTHIDE for a situation which is exactly what it addresses it just bizarre. Even more, when the guideline clearly explains that mobile users might not be able to see all of the hidden text. Gonnym (talk) 11:24, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

No brushing up required on my end neither on your end, using WP:COMMONSENSE is perfect for such situation to describe MOS:DONTHIDE because the rationale makes zero sense, we shouldn't always be obsessed with following the guidelines and policies. I wouldn't disagreed implementing MOS:DONTHIDE on short-medium length articles, however for Running Man which is obviously super long in scrolling length after removing both Template:Hidden begin and Template:Hidden end is to me, a lack of common sense, in which IAR should take precedent. And also, both templates doesn't work on mobile which it stated clearly hence "mobile users might not be able to see all of the hidden text" is literally lol, and of course it also stated it shouldn't be used on mainspace but yeah ... still used in 100K articles, what an absurd figure ... lawless. Of which, also noting that MOS:DONTHIDE is as what I read as self-contradicting (self as in the guidelines itself) guidelines. Regardless, I'm just complaining about it which I know perfectly is useless doing so. Anyway, happy new year and happy editing! Paper9oll (🔔📝) 13:24, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

Release formats

Hi @Paper9oll! I am currently working on a draft for Xdinary Heroes' Happy Death Day. @Jpmagabo9 If you have the date and is mentioned somewhere in the body of the article (not the Infobox as Infobox should only contain the initial release date) with reliable sources (can be primary source from the label itself as well if no reliable sources could be found) provided. @Jpmagabo9 If there isn't any official date available then you shouldn't be including it into the Release history table and also given that it isn't actually distributed to everyone but only a selected few of which, how much exactly is that few also, however for such information you may mentioned in prose form in the article body such as like in the Background and release section. @Jpmagabo9 Yes can be uploaded to Commons Wikimedia, just add {{YouTube}} (select and copy) template for the licensing, this template automatically handles which CC license, YouTube actually uses. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 12:44, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

Track listing

Hi @Paper9oll! I just want to ask if singles like Happy Death Day (song) still need a track list? My another question is that, the word "instrumental" stated as is or is it needed to be abbreviated? Thanks! - jampol 16:19, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

@Jpmagabo9 It depends, for "Happy Death Day", there is instrumental track so it's fine to include track list section. In most article that I've came across, the word "instrumental" is abbreviated. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 16:32, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

Content removal on the Loona page

Hi, I received a message from yourself stating that I hadn't provided adaquate explanation as to why I was removing information. The information was explained in the summary as "After discussions on the talk page, it has been agreed to not list the members who have won injunctions as "former" for the time being.", which was what I was doing and what had been discussed on the talk page, including with yourself -- and given that you have edited the page since to align with how I had edited it, the issue must be the summary I included and not the content of the edit.

Could you please provide further insight? I'm not sure what a fuller/more adaquate edit explanation would have looked like in this context and given that I am editing entirely in good faith, it would be helpful to know what a correct/adaquate edit summary looks like, so I can avoid issues with that again. Thanks. 31.124.191.19 (talk) 15:14, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

@31.124.191.19 You removed bunch of references without providing any explanation in the edit summary. You removed B without specifying B inside your edit summary while only specifying A inside your edit summary hence it's misleading. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 16:02, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply.
I understand that IRT the first edit I made and will take that on board. I'm still confused IRT the second, however. IRT the second edit (that is, the one I made to only the member section), the only references I removed were that relating to the members as former members. These references were also removed when you edited the page to look like how my edit did. In the edit summary, I stated that reference to them as former members wasn't what we were going with because I had assumed on a common sense level that no longer listing the members as former members meant that references which were in the article to explain why the members were being referred to like that would also need removed.
Your edit summary in which you make the same edit mentions "duplicate references" -- so, for future reference, would my edit summary have needed to say After discussions on the talk page, it has been agreed to not list the members who have won injunctions as "former" for the time being. + Removing duplicate references? Or would I have needed to write After discussions on the talk page, it has been agreed to not list the members who have won injunctions as "former" for the time being. I have removed in-text references that refer to them as such.? Would either have worked?
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I'm just genuinely very confused. 31.124.191.19 (talk) 16:31, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
@31.124.191.19 Either way your initial edit summary was misleading as I have mentioned above using the A and B example. As long as you justify why you removed any reference(s) then it shouldn't have any issues, note that I say shouldn't not wouldn't so the possibilities of getting reverted (for whatever reasons such as objections) is still there regardless if you explained in the edit summary, this applies to not just Loona but every single articles that exists in English Wikipedia. I removed the references later not because mainly of relation to the references supporting "(former)" word/term but because the same reference was already included once in the Career section hence spamming the same reference over and over is incorrect way of citing, not sure who on earth did that in the first place. Music Festivals

Do you think we need to include music festivals on Korean related articles for artist? Btspurplegalaxy 💬 🖊️ 03:35, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

@Btspurplegalaxy I think this depends from artist to artist, I do see List of Blackpink live performances having music festival's table, a few other "List of ... live performances" articles from other artists also has similar tables (but not well-sourced or mostly unsourced), hence I think it's okay to include in the artist's "List of ... live performances" articles, of course, provided that they are and/or can be reliably sourced, if it's just passing mentions then I don't see why it should even be included because we are WP:NOTDATABASE. 🍊 Paper9oll 🍊 (🔔📝) 04:27, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
That sounds good to me. Btspurplegalaxy 💬 🖊️ 04:38, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

HITC as reference

Why are you calling HITC which I cited on Stamp on It (song) an unreliable source? HITC is a 23-year-old UK trusted, professional news site for sports and entertainment, not a blog or gossip site. Their editorial policy includes:

  • HITC is committed to upholding high ethical standards.
  • HITC follows the five core principles of ethical journalism, as outlined by the Ethical Journalism Network.: 1. TRUTH & ACCURACY 2. INDEPENDENCE 3. FAIRNESS & IMPARTIALITY 4. HUMANITY 5. ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Furthermore, HITC endeavours to follow the guidance given by The Society of Professional Journalists in their Code of Ethics.

Damon Mah (talk) 10:43, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

@Damon Mah They previously used to look (in terms of their website design) as if it's some sort of junky blog and their content is also bloggy-like hence I always avoided it previously and go with better source from Naver News or more-renowed entertainment/music-oriented website/magazine (Billboard, Rolling Stone, etc) instead, regardless I will still continue to avoid them ... furthermore what's with that promotional and COI sounding explanation above lol. 🍊 Paper9oll 🍊 (🔔📝) 12:00, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for your explanation/viewpoint, we agree better sources where possible, although HITC professional reporting I reviewed is pretty legit to me with over a million subscribers, despite its visual format. Great seeing your lol sense of humour! Damon Mah (talk) 12:32, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

Television show

Hi, I just seen your message about my edit on Lee Elijah and asked for the reliable sources. So I have a question that can I linked it to a reliable Korean website that have the video of the show? It’s not easy for me, not a Korean, to retrieve the old news because there’re not many articles about Elijah joined a TV show. Many thanks for your answer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GrubbyLobby (talkcontribs) 19:38, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

@GrubbyLobby As mentioned through the edit summary of the reversion, we don't include guesting and/or one-time appearances for non-contestant roles for television shows per consensus at WT:KO hence even you wasted your time to find the reliable sources, it's pointless because you're going against the consensus hence you would get reverted regardless. 🍊 Paper9oll 🍊 (🔔📝) 00:15, 1 February 2023 (UTC)

B.I's profile picture

@Paper9oll: I made this edit on my phone and did not realize how ridiculously big 1.5 on desktop was. Thanks for taking care of that! Bostonite01310 talk 15:03, 1 February 2023 (UTC)

@Bostonite01310 No probs. And also, moving forward, such thanking message(s) which doesn't require other editors involvement shouldn't be posted on the article's talkpage but instead on that user's talkpage instead, this doesn't applies just for me but for any other editors. Alternatively, the WP:THANK button works as well. 🍊 Paper9oll 🍊 (🔔📝) 15:12, 1 February 2023 (UTC)

NCT DREAM: The Dream Show 2 wikipedia page

Hello! We are NCTzens, can you make a wikipedia page about NCT DREAM: The Dream Show 2 Tour? They are currently doing a World Tour and it's so nice to see it with their own Wikipedia Page for their tour. Thank you so much from NCTzens~ ♡ 112.204.219.167 (talk) 13:57, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

@112.204.219.167 Hi, currently a partial article exists for the world tour at Glitch Mode#The Dream Show 2: In A Dream but for whatever reason that I'm not sure of, the editor (Poirot09) added the world tour content as a section there instead of creating an actual article. You may need to contact Poirot09 at their personal talkpage to find out more on why it was added as a section instead and also Poirot09 is more well-verse on NCT-related topics as she has created/contributed mostly on NCT-related topics.
