Request for peer review help
[edit]Hello again. Sorry for the random message. I was wondering if you could possibly help me with my peer review for the article (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Wrath of the Darkhul King)? I'd ideally like to bring this through the WP:FAC process sometime next year, but I'm not as secure about it since my experience with video games articles is rather limited. I remembered your peer review for The Suicide of Rachel Foster so I thought you would have the expertise to help me with this article. I completely understand if you do not have the time or interest. I hope you are doing well over all. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far! Aoba47 (talk) 01:22, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Aoba47: Hey! I'll see what I can do, although I may be a bit slow. To be honest, I'm not that much of an expert with games either, and with one exception all my other FACs ended in failure, but I'll try to do my best. Also, don't worry; I've never played this game, but it being Buffy-related does pique my interest. Lastly, thank you, :). I am doing well for the most part. --PanagiotisZois (talk) 23:46, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- I thought the Buffy part might pique your interest lol. Take as much time as you need. I honestly value any help that I can get with the peer review, but I also completely understand if you end up not having time for it in the future. I am taking a break from Wikipedia myself and really only coming on here to address anything in the peer review and tend to my items in my watchlist. I've been feeling majorly burned out with Wikipedia in general. That and I just have a lot on my plate off-Wiki. I am glad you are doing well, and best of luck with everything both on and off Wikipedia. Aoba47 (talk) 03:51, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
Re:Those women longed for the touch of others' lips, and thus invited their kisses
[edit]Hi. Thank you! 1: Now that I think about it, I don't think it's that explicit, so it would be more correct to say that Rei reminds Shinji of a mother, that is, a generic maternal figure. 2. Yes, she suggests a kiss to Shinji. Perhaps the term "proposes" is a little confusing. TeenAngels1234 (talk) 14:02, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- @TeenAngels1234: Thank you for the swift reply! I will try to be done with it as quickly as possible. And I have to say, I am in awe of your work on Evangelion-related articles. It truly is amazing and you should be very proud of your work. I will also try to make some small changes to the article; if you disapprove of them once I'm done, feel free to change them. --PanagiotisZois (talk) 14:04, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
@TeenAngels1234: I have a question regarding "The exploration of Misato's past and a romantic comedy before the climax of the series". Firslty, what exactly does "romantic comedy" refer to exactly? Secondly, I'm guessing that both the exploration of Misato's past, as well as this "romantic comedy", were intially supposed to take place in episode 17? --PanagiotisZois (talk) 14:36, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- Also, I am somewhat confused by "According to character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, the original scenario did not include Lilith, which was introduced following the airing of the series and some staff research on Christianity[10] because "not touching Lilith seemed to hurt Anno's pride". I'm guessing Sadamoto talking about the original scenario of the series as a whole. Concerning "which was introduced following the airing of the series", does this refer to "following the premiere of the series"? That initially, the show would not include Lilith, but after the show started airing, they decided to alter the scripts of the last few episodes to include Lilith? --PanagiotisZois (talk) 14:40, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
@TeenAngels1234: Just to let you know, I decide to reorganize the "Production" section so that it is structured based on "theme". So, rather than having different details about how a scene was recorded/animated and the music used in the same paragraph, they will be separated based on sub-section. I hope you don't mind, but this seems more "professional"; especially if you want to later take this article to GA or even FA status. --PanagiotisZois (talk) 17:52, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- Yup, I agree. It looks better now. Thank you. You're right about Lilith inclusion and the premiere of the serie: they changed the series scenario after. Regarding "The exploration of Misato's past and a romantic comedy before the climax of the series", sadly that's what the Proposal says about it: "Misato's past. A romance comedy". Two sentences and nothing more. We don't know exactly what romance comedy would take place; maybe something like the Shinji and Asuka kiss, or maybe not. So, yeah, both Misato's past and the (Shinji-Asuka?) "romantic comedy" were initially supposed to take place in episode 17, and I prefered to simply report what the Proposal says sic est. TeenAngels1234 (talk) 18:47, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- @TeenAngels1234: Thank you for the clarification. I have made changes accordingly. One other thing I wanted a clarification with is the part where it's stated that the conversation and body language Rei shows would have been "unimaginable" in the first half of the series. Does conversation relate to the emotions Rei displays in this scene, or that she's engaging in a discussion with Shinji at all? Is it maybe about the content of their conversation? In the first few episodes, Rei rarely talked to Shinji, and it almost always was about their job, rather than anything personal. --PanagiotisZois (talk) 22:32, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- I think it's more about the emotions that Rei displays in this scene and thus the content of this particular conversation. That's the text of Evangelion Chronicle: このシンジとレイの会話は重要である。シンジがレイの雑巾を絞る 動作に母を感じるという発言に、レイは赤面しながら「何を言うのよ ・・・」とつぶやいたのだ。こうした会話やレイの表情は、物語序盤では 考えられなかったものである。2人の関係や、レイ自身が大きく変化 していることが窺える。Translation: "This conversation between Shinji and Rei is important. When Shinji said that he sees a mother in the way Rei squeezed her rag, Rei blushed and murmured, 'What are you talking about..?'. These [my emphasis] conversations and Rei's facial expressions were unimaginable at the beginning of the story. It can be seen that the relationship between the two have changed significantly." TeenAngels1234 (talk) 08:33, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for your contribution, I am sincerely grateful. I will provide for the bibliography- I don't think I have the time, competence and energy for a FAN at the time; maybe I will try in the near future with List of Neon Genesis Evangelion characters, but as a non-native native speaker it would be difficult. Thanks again!--TeenAngels1234 (talk) 21:12, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
