Château de XXX to XXX castle

[edit]

Before you carry on changing page title from Château de XXX to XXX castle (and there are thousands of them!), you should get agreement from other Wikipedia editors. Accepted custom is that the pages use the actual name, not a translation by which they are not known. And you have not even done it correctly - there are links to the pages you have changed that now go just to a redirect page or nowhere at all. Emeraude (talk) 10:38, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Emeraude:, I do not have enough information about this If something went wrong, please correct it, Thank you POS78 (talk) 10:58, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi POS78, I noticed you created a new article on Laneh Muri. At the moment the article opens with "is a term suggested by the author". Could you add to the article which author that would be? Richard Nevell (talk) 18:18, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, this is starting to get boring now. If you keep moving articles without any form of consensus, or if you keep trying to force mention of this Fire Temple of Kashmar, I will report you. --HistoryofIran (talk) 14:53, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@HistoryofIran: I just wanted to translate the Persian article into English, Please see here[1] And that I intend to help, not to advertise POS78 (talk) 14:57, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File:Atashgah castle2021.jpg

[edit]

Hi, you have added this picture to many articles, but as far as I can tell, there is no castle to be seen in this image. Can you explain what we are actually looking at? Fram (talk) 10:10, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Fram:, I must say that this image is the way to the castle Not the castle itself and the castle is completely destroyed پBut there are traces of the castle that you can see in this picture[6] Or [7] POS78 (talk) 10:15, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Then please don't add this image to a bunch of articles where it serves no purpose and will only bewilder readers. It is better not to have any image, than to have one that only confuses (e.g. at Laneh Muri or at Fire Temple of Kashmar). Fram (talk) 10:19, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Fram: Atashgah Castle is a type of Laneh Muri Castle And the place of Kashmar fire temple was in this castle, I did not add the image by accident :) POS78 (talk) 10:23, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But it adds nothing to the articles (or to any others). It doesn't show a castle, a temple, an underground structure, ..., it shows some rocks. Fram (talk) 10:28, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Brick Minaret into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Due to other websites copying Wikipedia, in-wiki copies may be mistaken as taken from external websites. Providing attribution in the edit summary helps prevent these misunderstandings from happening. Thank you. Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI help 19:30, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Castle aritcles

[edit]

Hi - I just took a look at Gachi castle and Heriduk castle. The links in the citation for each article don't work - can you check them so I can review it? You should also consider looking for more sources for each, if this is a subject you're interested in - an encyclopaedia is a tertiary source, ideally it would be good for any article to have at least a couple of secondary sources. Thanks GirthSummit (blether) 12:11, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Woah - I just looked at your contribs, you're making loads of these! Please sort out the refs before going further - I clock on those links and get nothing, either for internet archive or the original source. What is the source, is it still active? GirthSummit (blether) 12:16, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Girth Summit: Please check this article, It is a resource that records cultural heritage and examines its time and location, I am completing the list of castles in Iran, If you allow me to create 7 more articles then And I will add other sources to them POS78 (talk) 12:24, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
POS78, none of those links work for me - when I click on them, I just get 'can't reach this page, iranshahrpedia.ir’s server IP address could not be found.' If the source can't be accessed, we can't use it - let's try and sort this problem out before going forward. GirthSummit (blether) 12:47, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Girth Summit: I don't know why the link does not work But it is temporary and it will be fixed Anyway, I will add other sources to the articles, Thank you for following up POS78 (talk) 13:19, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ye, what is going on, why are you using the same links for different castles? At first I thought these were legitimate articles, now I am not so sure. I like articles on history, castles, but the ones you're creating don't seem helpful at all, they feel like they could be miss-leading at the moment. Govvy (talk) 10:41, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

POS78, as pointed out by Girth Summit, none of the links work for me either so this fails WP:V. You are creating a bunch of such articles everyday using the same reference which does not work, please consider replacing it with another reliable source which actually work in the existing articles, otherwise these are likely to be tagged for deletion. Ashleyyoursmile! 07:27, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ashleyyoursmile Ok, I will not create an article with this source until the link is repaired POS78 (talk) 07:46, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Kamar Qala castle

[edit]

Hello POS78,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hatchens, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Kamar Qala castle, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Birjand castle. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hatchens}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Copying within Wikipedia (2)

[edit]

Please stop copying random paragraphs from articles into new lists you create. Not only is your choice of text often rather incomprehensible (producing a "note" which starts at a random topic and doesn't provide some meaningful summary of the castle), it is also not allowed to copy text like that: see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia for the full explanation and the way to do it correctly. Fram (talk) 14:15, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Fram:, Thank you for your explanation, I corrected the lists, Please do a review, okay? POS78 (talk) 14:34, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Your edit summary is still extremely minimal, and your inclusion (of text and castles) still rather random, e.g. Hammam al-Sarah is not a castle, so why do you include it in a list of castles? You also copy without checking what you repost, it seems; at List of castles in Venezuela, the first source doesn't work and the second source doeesn't mention any castle. Fram (talk) 14:41, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is still an issue with your recent creations of List of caves articles. You must provide a link to every page you copied from, either in the edit summary or on the talk page. And also please don't mindlessly create lists by copying from existing articles without checking if the categorisation is accurate. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:17, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of Sasanian cities

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:List of Sasanian cities a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into List of Sasanian Cities. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. –Kammilltalk05:13, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, List of palaces in South Korea, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears you've copied the content of this list, as well as many others you've created from several other articles within Wikipedia. Since this appears to be from several sources within Wikipedia, you must link to every page you've copied from. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. To correct the issue, feel free to move the draft back into mainspace, while making the proper attribution. Since this is a violation of policy, I'll be moving all of these list articles of yours into draft for you to make the corrections. Onel5969 TT me 18:40, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Just a bit more on this. All of these are well done list articles. The only issue is the lack of proper attribution. You've been notified of this numerous times, not just on these list articles, but other times you've copied without proper attribution. Not just here on your talk page, but also on the article pages, as Paul_012 has done on numerous list articles you created. In fact, several times I noticed you simply removed his notification, without making the necessary corrections. I'm also pinging Diannaa to see if there is an easier way for you to provide attribution from all the articles you copied from, since some of your lists are rather long. I really don't want to discourage you, but on policy issues, you really must understand how important they are. And copyright/attribution is one of the most important on WP. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 19:04, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
One more thing, if this had been simply one or two articles, I would have done the attribution myself, but due to the numerous articles you've created like this, I simply don't have the time. Onel5969 TT me 19:06, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have the time either. POS78, the best and most appropriate way for you to do it is to do the attribution in the edit in which you add the text. To go back and add it later will be time consuming, but it's something you should do yourself. Thanks,— Diannaa (talk) 19:24, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello dear brother Onel5969, Yes, I'm sorry about all this neglect, Please see this edition[8], If it is good, I will continue to create other lists And thank you for your help POS78 (talk) 19:25, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that list is exactly what you need to do. On another matter, some of the stubs you've created on historical buildings don't seem to be titled correctly. Some of it may simply be my computer translation program from Iranian. Examples would be Yakhchāl of Zericf and Yakhchāl of Kashmar. Can you please verify that those are what the structures are actually called. On WP, accuracy is more important than volume. It makes it difficult for reviewers to evaluate articles when sourcing doesn't seem to mention what the article is about. Onel5969 TT me 19:29, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Onel5969, True, these articles are translations of Persian articles And in other experiences I will definitely mention this POS78 (talk) 19:36, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of caves in Algeria

[edit]

My CSD nomination of List of caves in Algeria was reverted by @Anarchyte: because the material in that article, even though matching the site I identified, was present in a Wikipedia article before being scraped to another site. However, please note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved. Had you followed the best practices, it would not have been necessary to waste the time checking into the possible copyright violation, and having somebody look into the possible copying within Wikipedia. I do see that you identified the source of the material about the individual caves, but even there, the edit summary listing doesn't meet our requirements.

It's my observation that many editors, even experience ones, are unaware of the copy within requirements, so the error is understandable, but almost all such edits trigger a report in our CopyPatrol tool, and proper use of an edit summary will ensure that they are simply marked as acceptable.

Draft articles

[edit]

Hello, POS78,

If an article you have written has been moved to Draft space, you can't just copy it and recreate it in the main space of the project in a cut and paste edit. This eliminates all of the page history from the article that is now a draft article. Please continue to work on the original draft versions of these articles. If you have questions about any of this, please visit the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:36, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
