Bangla script size

I noticed that you are increasing the Bangla script size by adding the big tag. This is not necessary. The Bangla text appears correctly in all browsers (unless you have only the vrinda font installed and no other Bangla fonts). Thanks. --Ragib 01:27, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

thanks!

Thanks for your DYK medal... I am rather at sea how to do these things. I guess you actually have done more DYKs than me... However, do check out the new article on Gopal Chandra Bhattacharya - I hadn't even heard of this great man until recently... I am sure you might know more about him than I have put up! 203.197.196.1 08:32, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

BD

So, where in BD are you going? As a tourist, or are you visiting someone? If you need any help, I can ask the Bangla Wikipedians in Dhaka. Thanks. --Ragib 08:00, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

If you can, do visit Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar. Not too far from Dhaka ... Ctg is about 6 hours Bus/Train ride. But you get to see the sea ...
Take umbrella ... it is raining heavily in BD for the last week or so.
Good luck. --Ragib 08:24, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

durga puja 2007

hello!! Did you nominate Gopal B Chak for DYK? I suddenly found a notification that it had made it, and couldn't find the original citation...

I have just created a small page for Durga Puja 2007 (on panchami-shashTi night). While taking care that only notable items make it to the page, some sort of an encyclopedic account for the annual pujas should be appropriate. Needs much work - external links results of contests, etc. Take a look! mukerjee (talk) 08:17, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

== শুভ দূর্গা পুজা==

শুভ দূর্গা পুজা !!!
প্রিয় P.K.Niyogi,

Amartyabag TALK2ME 11:22, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Happy Durga Puja

Hi...

Thank you for the wishes... Happy Durga Puja! Let me know how you enjoyed your trip to Bangladesh. I haven't been regular on wikipedia for a few months now due to a change in location and new employment. But I hope to be regular from now on. Bangladesh

Wow, you're coming to Bangladesh! Great! Don't worry, not all Steamers are overcrowded. Anyway, if you don't feel safe, you can travel with bus or train. And, bro don't forget to take a camera with you. We hardly have good pictures of Bangladesh. Hope you enjoy your visit here. Don't miss Tangail's Chamcham and Bogura's Dodhi, that is if you are not diabetic. You can contact me while you're in Dhaka. May be we can meet! May be I can travel with you a bit, I'm living here in Dhaka for ten years and I still don't figure out major shops yet :( Are you coming by bus? or plane? If it's a bus, then you might land in Kallyanpur, don't miss me then. Hope to see you. Regards --Tarif from Bangladesh 10:16, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Bus is always a good idea to travel to Bogura, Tangail and Sylhet. You can travel in SR Travels bus service to Bogura. Shohag Paribahan have more luxurious bus travelling for Sylhet :) Chittagong is easier with train. Hopefully you can manage a local guide from your family there. Pick good bus service like "Shohag" and "SR". I'm sending you my cell phone number by e-mail. You can contact with me anytime. Regards again--Tarif from Bangladesh 10:22, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes dada, it is still raining, but not heavily, once or twice a day. I'll look for books of your interest. You can get good books at Dhaka New Market. I'll try to let you know if I find any specific book of your subjects. Regards. --Tarif from Bangladesh 14:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

I've send an email to you about Dhaka related books. I'm looking for more. --Tarif from Bangladesh 06:51, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Anyway, Ragib via is coming to BD this December and we’re hoping to do a lot of work, your contribution would add extra flavour to it. Need your help with Jagadish Chandra Bose

You may have noticed that Jagadish Chandra Bose recently had a GA review and it failed. The review comments are available at: Talk:Jagadish_Chandra_Bose#Failed_GA. I have tried to address as many concerns as I can and still working on some. But there are a few areas which need input from the earlier references that were used.

I see that you contributed significantly to this article earlier. I'd request your help to address the concerns mentioned in the GA review. Let's collaborate to make this article a Good Article. Arman (Talk) 01:38, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Nadia Rivers.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Nadia Rivers.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --OrphanBot (talk) 07:08, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

I just read the haor article. Great! Wonderful!! And excellent photos. I did not know at all about Haors. Those looked so attractive in the photos. Great.--Dwaipayan (talk) 05:49, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Is it possible to move the gallery to the Commons (as a single page, not as category) and then put a link on the Haor article? You can retain relevant images at appropriate places on the article. Aditya(talkcontribs) 11:52, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
I've been a little busy these days for University admission. Looks like I logged on at the most acurate time. Chaliye Jan Dada. Regards --Tarif from Bangladesh (talk) 13:00, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
I have created the gallery for you. See the commons:Haor page on commons. I have just done the skeleton, and it doesn't have all the images you've put into the artcile. I'll need your help to put all of that together on one page, with appropriate headers and captions. BTW, I don't have the heart to remove those wonderful images from the article. But, similar images add little value to an article, and hence better be moved to the commons with a link leading to it. Cheers. Aditya(talkcontribs) 16:48, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Seeing you interest in tourism related stuff in dealing with Haors, I have come to make request (I hope you don't mind) - can you consider contributing to a Haor travel guide from Wikivoyage? The wikitravel is wonderful wiki complementing the wikimedia projects which has very poor coverage of Bangladesh. Though I do try to make contributions there, it falls much short of the task. Would you care to take a look? Aditya(talkcontribs) 16:22, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

I have seen that you have interest in the sundarban region. Can u give some of your precious time to the Sundarbans National Park article. How was the trip in BD?? Nice to see u back. Amartyabag TALK2ME 10:36, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

The Haor article is excellent, even the photos are very nice. even if u don't get any book on Sundarban, there are many Reliable sources available on the net like, UNEP, UNESCO, Project Tiger and few others. Regarding Torsa, only a tributary known as Buri Torsa meets Jaldhaka. Ghargharia river meets with Torsa in the Tufanganj subdivision, near Deocharai and Balarampur Torsa meets with Kaljani and it then flows into Bangladesh by the name of Kaljani and meets with Brahmaputra in BD. This wetland is one of the Ecologically Critical Areas in Bangladesh. I have created a redlink for it, but can't find info to start an article. Can you help? Aditya(talkcontribs) 13:36, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the link. It will come handy. But looking at your book citations I was wondering if any of them says anything about the Marjat baor, not ECAs in general. BTW, you'll be happy to know that this wetland thingy has really caught my attention, and things are developing better than I would have predicted. Thanks for that, too. And, this is not just about the Wikipedia. Its also about other Wikimedia projects and Wikitravells. I was really hoping you could lend a hand with the last one. Hi Niyogi dada, how are you? Ragib bhaiya is in Bangladesh now. So we are organizing Wiki Adda every week. And you have become popular in our community (I don't need to tell you the reason). Anyway, the eassay you have used at Ichamati River is probably a translation of the original Bengali eassay, I just guessed. Do you have the Bengali copy of that, if so then please send it to me, I'll add it to the Bengali article of Ichamati. I don't dare translating Bibhuti :D
