- In response to the message you left me here, I'd like to explain to you why your page was deleted. First off, I'd read WP:AUTO, in general we discourage people from writing about themselves because it's very difficult to write about yourself neutrally, which is very important to maintaining an encyclopedia. The idea is that if you're really notable enough, someone else will write about you. It's not actually forbidden though. In terms of what makes you "important" enough, as a musician you have two options.
- WP:MUSIC. There are lots of ways that you or your band might automatically be considered notable. Have a look and see if any of the 12 options apply to you. If they do, be sure to mention what makes you notable when you recreate the article so that it won't be deleted again.
- The general notability guideline: Have you been covered or majorly mentioned in magazines/newspapers or other reliable sources (please note that sites like MySpace are not reliable sources)? This would qualify you. If this is the case and you choose to recreate your article, cite those sources.
- Your article wasn't deleted because you're not notable. It was deleted because you didn't make any sort of claim to be notable. If you don't want your article to be speedily deleted again, you need to be notable and the article needs to express why. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions. - Yes, administrators have the ability to resurrect deleted pages. Find the deleted page here: User:Oren0/RestoredPages/Mariya Ocher. Note that this is for reference purposes and I will delete this copy at some point. If you have sources that discuss you, it doesn't matter that they're not in English, cite them anyway (see Wikipedia:CITE#Sources_in_different_languages). Be sure that if you recreate the article it explains why you are notable and cites sources otherwise you're likely to have the page deleted again. If you'd like to reply, do so here instead of on my page so that the conversation can be followed easily by others. Oren0 (talk) 01:33, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.
Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Unpopular Opinion (talk) 06:04, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Poopsy club

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Poopsy club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:32, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
