Help

[edit]

{{help me}} I was wondering why you deleted my edits to the Tear down this wall page because I thought they were good contributions to Reagon's Speech in rhetorical terms. The wiki page was missing how much the words “tear down this wall” was such a huge move in rhetoric. Thus, I felt like there needed to be a section talking about the importance of it and how it is such a impactful decision made by Reagan to keep it in his speech. He utilized many aspects of rhetorical processes influenced by the Sophists in his own, very influential way. Thus, it is important that the wall should be talked about by itself on the speech’s wiki page. Also, The reason I wanted to add a little more to the legacy section is because I felt like not enough was written in the original version in terms of how impactful Reagan’s speech was despite its ambiguity in its influence in actually bringing down the wall. By explaining how Reagan’s words were actually impactful in terms of peacefully earning the trust of Gorbachev rather than putting him down is important information. It shows how Reagan utilized the right moment (Kairos) used the appropriate words in his speech (Prepon) and showed to the people of Germany and Gorbachev especially a new possible peaceful world without the wall of suppression (Dynaton)

Your rollback request

[edit]

Hi O.Koslowski, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam/blatantly unconstructive edits, and that using it to revert anything else (such as by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with) can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, depending on the admin who becomes aware of any misuse. If you think an edit should require a reason for reverting, then don't use rollback and instead use a manual edit summary. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 08:55, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

June 2012

[edit]

Your recent editing history at State-sponsored terrorism shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. lTopGunl (talk) 12:26, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, right. An IP doesn't react to anything on the talk page, makes a claim that does not fall into WP:BLUE and I get warned for being in an edit war? o.O O.Koslowski (talk) 13:30, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Underworld (film series) - Just a heads up

[edit]

Scott Speedman did NOT return for the fourth film in the underworld series.

The character "Michael" was in fact played by a random lookalike and wasn't even credited (to my knowledge) in the film.

Checkout IMDB if you think I am making this up, but Scott Speedman did NOT return for the fourth film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.63.220.30 (talk) 19:47, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am not vandalizing Wikipedia brah. There are no references on the KC BBQ page, I added references and you removed them. Why don't you remove the areas that have no reference!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.104.67.121 (talk) 16:37, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you're like the first vandal to visit my talk page and claim that they're not vandals. How utterly original. I reverted this, this and this edit of yours, and it's very obvious that the improvement of the articles was the least of your worries. Please stop wasting our time. -- O.Koslowski (talk) 16:40, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not trying to be original, genius, I'm trying to make the KC BBQ page authentic. Someone else vandalized the KC BBQ page by adding unreferenced material, I added a reference to the Lexington BBQ capital and you removed it. Now I am the vandal. That makes sense. Why don't you remove all the false, unreferenced drivel on the page??? BTW, two of those three links went to the same edit, way to go smart guy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.104.67.222 (talk) 17:59, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit in Impact of health on intelligence (Impairment is so severe in Kansas City, Missouri that underprivileged children actually believe [City–style barbecue] is the best kind of Barbecue.) has little to do with removing false, unreferenced drivel. And the two edits look alike because you were friendly enough to do them twice. O.Koslowski (talk) 19:50, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:65.34.9.44

[edit]

I don't know that the actions of anon user:65.34.9.44 actually constitute vandalism. They do break formatting rules, but the editor appears to be editing in good faith. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:07, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please take a look at the state the article was left in by the time I reverted. Now add to that edits like this, and I find it increasingly hard to believe that the editor was editing in good faith. -- O.Koslowski (talk) 05:07, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I saw the state. While it needed to be undone, it was clearly not malicious. The editor was trying to improve the article but doesn't know how to edit. Per WP:VANDAL
"Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. Examples of typical vandalism are adding irrelevant obscenities and crude humor to a page, illegitimately blanking pages, and inserting obvious nonsense into a page."
Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:14, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The editor tried his or her luck on more than one article and blanked them completely or large portions of it. Your judgment is that it wasn't malicious, my judgment was that it was malicious. Yeah, I know there is WP:AGF. But there is also the notion that you might want to stop what you're doing if you don't know what you're doing. -- O.Koslowski (talk) 07:54, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Centennial Secondary School (Belleville) changes

[edit]

I attended classes at Centennial Secondary school for four years, as did my brother before me for a combined twelve years at the school. The motto is most definitely "demitto tua signa," in honour of the NBC television series, Community, of which the principal and superintendent are enthusiasts. On the television show Community, the school, Greendale Community College, motto is "lower your standards." Adapted in its Latin form, it serves its place as the motto for Centennial Secondary School. Please undo the undoing of my change to the page as soon as possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.204.94.96 (talk) 01:30, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

About the macedonian. It tells me i can't fix it becouse i am new here. It says старомакедонски јазик witch means old macedonian, when its old bulgarian. Can you fix this please? The hole page tells how it is macedonian language etc and its the hole article is filled with non sense... i cant believe someone wrote that!!!

British Shipbuilders

[edit]

I've gone through my history, and cannot find the British Shipbuilders page that I apparently changed. However, I have had problems with my IP address in the past, as it appears to change infrequently by itself. The reason that listing people who have certain view is unethical

[edit]

There are histories about the unethical of listing people have certain views, such as the Hollywood blacklist or The Black Book. Listing is certainly unethical and I don't understand why Wikipedia have that. It's a form of bullying.--Raintwoto 21:10, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

It is not unethical and your analogy is dead wrong. The list contains scientists who hold certain views. Whether or not the readers agreee or disagree with those particular views does not matter. In fact, we'd weasel our articles if we didn't name people who oppose the view of anthropogenic global warming and instead always said something like "some scientists oppose this view". -- O.Koslowski (talk) 21:14, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, people who is listed in the list would not be beat to death. But if you are a funding commission, you may be not give funding to whom do the research and has the certain opinion. This will damage science itself and we will never find out the earth is not flat.
To your question, you can cite their researches either than list the names. If the research has problem, we will find out it from the papers they wrote and we can debate. --Raintwoto 21:32, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

The defamatory bit is simply part of the template text. Being able to cite suitable sources is a bedrock principle of Wikipedia, even more so for biographies of living people, as per WP:BLP. What you have called "persistent, petty VANDALISM" in one of your edit summaries is not vandalism, nor is it petty. It's simply following the rules. Hi O.Koslowski, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. Hello, thanks for helping keep Wikipedia free of vandalism. I noticed you reported 68.119.73.241 as having vandalized after a final warning. Zugszwang

[edit]

I couldn't help but notice that you reverted some of my changes to the Zugszwang article. However, a simple look at the first line of the article shows that it says: "...one player is put at a disadvantage because he must make a move when they would prefer to pass and not to move..." As you can easily see, the one player is first referred to as "he" and later as "they." A determination must be made as to whether the player is a "he" or a "they" and the proper form used throughout the article. Please do not leave it as a mishmash mix of both. Thanks.190.81.202.250 (talk) 18:29, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
