Nomination of Re-NewsIt! for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Re-NewsIt! is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Re-NewsIt! until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Guy (Help!) 22:46, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
Re-NewsIt!
[edit]Nowa, I've tried to identify some additional references but the depth of coverage is not substantial, it seems. --Edcolins (talk) 16:54, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- I agree. I searched pretty diligently myself and what's in there was the best I could find. The main reason I created the article was to keep a discussion of Re-NewsIt! out of Shaun King (activist) and provide what reliable information was available to an interested viewer. If other editors shared the same view, it might have survived, but unfortunately, most interested editors are more concerned about giving "a wingnut blog" too much notability by virtue of being in Wikipedia.--Nowa (talk) 18:05, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Nowa - Sorry I didnt see your note until after I had already put it back in. As I said in the talk page - I think the addition is factual - even if the paper's claims turn out to be wrong. There is some evidence - I think it should be included and people can look at the evidence themselves. I dont know of any 'smoking gun' type data that proves it - but the trend is certainly suspicious. -- Rety2w (talk) 13:33, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Original research
[edit]Hi Nowa. If you have a minute, could you have a look at the discussion on the Talk:3Com_3c509 page? The issue is about whether adding a section entitled "Patents" in an article about a network card is appropriate, when the only source backing the content within the section is text provided onto the network card itself. To me, the mere inclusion of the section violates WP:OR, but I would interested in having your opinion about this. Thanks. --Edcolins (talk) 15:58, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Ed. I think the section is OK. I left a comment on the talk page. The other editor was being obnoxious, but hey, that's what turning the other cheek is all about.--Nowa (talk) 21:33, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Gambitious
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Gambitious requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Mduvekot (talk) 18:39, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:48, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of BnkToTheFuture
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on BnkToTheFuture, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. The article AHHHA has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Cindy-sherman-untitled-153.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Cindy-sherman-untitled-153.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:24, 6 May 2017 (UTC)

The article Bill Perkins (author) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
I couldn't establish that he, or his organisation, meet WP:NOTABILITY.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 07:49, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

MEDRS
[edit]Please carefully read this information:
A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The specific details of these sanctions are described here.
If you're going to edit medical articles, you really need to familiarise yourself with the sourcing requirements set out in WP:MEDRS, particularly " Primary sources should generally not be used for medical content". It may help you to study WP:MEDASSESS and to understand what makes the difference between a primary and secondary source. If in doubt, please ask on the talk page rather than revert, especially on an article subject to general sanctions. Thanks --RexxS (talk) 03:22, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of CrowdHut
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on CrowdHut requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.
However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Vozul (talk) 06:17, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
