About moving draft articles

Hi, I'm Hatto. I recently found out that you are moving Draft:Ive (group) to Ive (group) like this on December 10 after the submission on December 5.

Considering that it has been moved from the draft article to the mainspace in just 5 days, I hope that other draft articles will also be moved to the mainspace by you.

I submitted Draft:Nemophila (band) on November 15 and Draft:Band-Maiko on November 19. If you don't have any problems, could you please move these draft articles to the mainspace like Ive's article? --Hatto (talk) 13:13, 26 December 2021 (UTC)

@Nkon21: Thank you for moving the draft articles so much! By the way, I found out that you are a K-pop listener when I see your userpage. I believe that was also the reason you moved Ive draft article to the mainspace. There are two Iz*One members in Ive. I have found the following draft articles created for Iz*One members and other Korean related issues. I have draft articles, both submitted and not, do you think there are any draft articles that you think deserve to be moved to mainspace? --Hatto (talk) 02:14, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

@Nkon21: Would you check Kep1er draft article because it was submitted? --Hatto (talk) 16:29, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
Hey there, I'm not sure if these articles meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability, with the exception of Kep1er. The articles about the singers don't show they have significant notability outside their respective groups, and Running Girls seems to be a minor TV program that may not need its own article. Kang Hye-won seems like she almost meets it, but her work needs to chart on the Gaon Digital Chart before it can be published. After Kep1er debuts, me or someone else can move the article to mainspace. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 04:57, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
@Nkon21: Thank you for your reply! By the way, are you willing to not only move to mainspace, but also to participate in editing the above 5 draft articles? --Hatto (talk) 04:23, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
@Nkon21: Kep1er draft article was submitted, reverted repeatedly and was currently submitted. I think that you move it to mainspace if you think it's no problem. --Hatto (talk) 13:22, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
Okay, I have moved Draft:Kep1er into mainspace now, as they debuted and have significant coverage in South Korean media. Best, ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 03:19, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
@Nkon21: Thank you for moving the article! Also, what do you think that Draft:Kang Hye-won was submitted on January 13? Do you think it would be ok to move it to mainspace? Please check it out. --Hatto (talk) 11:39, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

On 22 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Candy (H.O.T. song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Your edits pertaining to discographies

Hi Nkon21, I see that you're replacing individual source for China sales to saoju.net one, however previous discussion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Korea/Archive 21#Is this source reliable? (asked by me) and also on Wikipedia talk:Record charts/Archive 17#QQ Music & saoju.net with multiple editors suggesting the source as unreliable hence shouldn't individual source from the respective removed music streaming website be better even though still not as good but at least they're kind of official one rather than sketchy looking one. Your thoughts? Paper9oll (🔔📝) 01:50, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

I was not aware that there were discussions that it was deemed generally unfit, and I see several editors seem to agree that the individual network sources are better to use. So I've undone my edit. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 02:27, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

In My Darkest Hour

@Nkon21: Thank you for moving Kang Hye-won draft article to mainspace so much! Megadeth song Draft:In My Darkest Hour, which I helped edit, was also submitted. I think this draft article deserves to be moved to mainspace, and I've asked another user to help edit it to move it to mainspace, and posted it here for you to check it out. What do you think about this draft article? --Hatto (talk) 16:05, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

@Hatto: Sorry for the late reply– I have one question though, did this song chart on any official charts? ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 02:31, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
@Nkon21: According to Megadeth discography#Singles, apparently this song is not charting. However, there's no doubt that it's one of their most prominent songs. Does it have to be a charted song for you to move it to mainspace? --Hatto (talk) 11:03, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:00, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi Nkon21. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. -- TNT (talk • she/her) 01:05, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Nkon21, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 07:00, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Exo Planet 2 – The Exo'luxion, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Newark.

New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022

New Page Review queue March 2022

Hello Nkon21,

At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.

Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.

In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 803 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 851 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.

This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.

If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Blackpink page Artistry section

Hi thank you so much for collaborating on my new added section on blackpink's main wikipedia page, but please i've already added reliable sources to back up the statement i wrote, so i would like you ask you to not revert it, it's wikipedically correct and accurate, it does follow the rules and its very neutral. Moonlight Entm (talk) 21:10, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

@Moonlight Entm: Some stuff that you wrote including They also have recieved widespread media acclamation for the styling and visual representation of their music videos" is not neutral. Please format references correctly, the title of the publication goes in the "website" parameter not "publisher", date of publication goes in "date" not "access-date", and you need to add authors when available. Pay attention to spelling and proper English syntax, proper nouns should begin with capital letters not lowercase, you should not add spaces before commas, and references goes after punctuation not before. Don't expect other editors to always clean up after you like I have on Blackpink's article, as you should know these things yourself if you want to edit Wikipedia. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 21:16, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

I understand what you mean, however if you read the sources you"ll see that if totally says what i wrote in the statement, i"ll edit properly, i simply put it like that cause i wanted to edit it simply so it doesn't look messy, also the references can be made like that too, that's how i learned to edit here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moonlight Entm (talkcontribs) 21:50, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Yes I read the sources, and they don't mention the words "acclaim" or "trend". In order to comply with WP:VERIFIABILITY, those sources need to say the exact things that you write. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 22:02, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Girls Generation

Hi there, girls generation do not include solo members sales or whatever, did you even read the sources? Both of them clearly stated "digital and physical records" making them the second girl group in history to achieve that, can you please stop trying to abuse of your power and stop nitpicking/inventing every single little thing to justify your biased actions and reverting my editions. Moonlight Entm (talk) 04:25, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Plus OneHallyu is not a source for wikipedia, it's literally a kpop fans website where everyone can publish what they want even if its inaccurate and goes live on the internet that just contradicts the wikipedia rules of reliable references that you editors want to always advice to others, i provided articles from the prestigious magazine Seventeen and one of the most prestigious newspaper in China, South China Morning Post. Moonlight Entm (talk) 04:35, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

The SCMP article states that they got that figure from Koreaboo, who most likely themselves obtained it from fans. Yes OneHallyu is not reliable, but where do those sources get the 100M figure from? Combining everything from subgroup and solo sales into one giant figure seems to be the most plausible explanation. When you add up all the sales on SNSD's discography page, it doesn't add up to 100M are anywhere near it for that matter. Its pretty clear to me that this figure is from combining all solo and subgroup sales and therefore it should not be added to Wikipedia. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 05:29, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

The scmp article never stated they got it from koreaboo, plus koreaboo is more reliable than OneHallyu would ever be, it doesn't add to that figure cause the sources are from 2012, literally 10 years ago since their sales are not updated, Girls Generation superpassed the mark of 100M physically and mostly digitally worlwide, its more than correct and accurate to add it here, plus this sales do not include sub-unit or solo members sales, it's very clear, 8 of them combined don't reach even 2 million, only Taeyeon can and this figure of course do not include her sales. Moonlight Entm (talk) 16:00, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Yes, if you read the article than SCMP stated that the figure is from Koreaboo. OneHallyu and Koreaboo are both very unreliable sources. If you look at that forum it makes perfect sense that fans would say that SNSD has sold 100 million records, but that's when combining all subgroup and solo sales too. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 18:13, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Those sales are mostly digital, they've sold an impressive amount of downloads worlwide and even if it really counts sub-units then the figure is still higher than 34.4 million, please remove girls generation out of the list until a new source confirms their sales even though seventeen and scmp already did it and koreaboo's calculation are not wrong either, but since its impossible to put it here without an editor reverting it, be fair cause their source is from literally 10 freaking years ago, every old source has been removed except theirs, it's unfair, remove until a new confirmation. Moonlight Entm (talk) 21:26, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Stub-class versus Start-class articles

Hello Nkon21. Regarding your categorisation of your own article Im Nayeon as start-class late last month, the article still, several weeks later, is only a stub, at least according to the WikiProject Albums criteria laid out at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Assessment#Quality scale. The example of a stub given there is this revision of the article Breaking Sensation, which Im Nayeon currently pretty closely resembles. If I created an article like this, I would struggle to consider it start-class, and whether the lead section as such is much of an overview at all. Please bear in mind the example the Albums WikiProject provides. Thanks. Ss112 08:38, 24 June 2022 (UTC)

There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000[a] at the end of May.

Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.[b]

In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).

While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).

Backlog drive

A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here. Barnstars will be awarded.

TIP – New school articles

Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.

Misc

There is a new template available, {{NPP backlog}}, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:

Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 13597 articles, as of 12:00, 25 November 2024 (UTC), according to DatBot

There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Reminders
  • Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
  • If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.
  • If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
  • To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
Notes
  1. ^ not including another ~6,000 redirects
  2. ^ The number of weekly reviews reported in the NPP feed includes redirects, which are not included in the backlog we primarily track.

Pop song article

Hi there, you have to revert your own edit, there's already an article called "Pop (song)" and they are too similar, the correct name is "Pop! (Nayeon song)". Moonlight Entm (talk) 17:50, 25 June 2022 (UTC)

There's a British group called Pop! without a "(British group)" identifier or something similar to distinguish it from normal Pop, so to me this seems fine. But if you gain a consensus among other editors that it should be moved back, then I'll happily do so. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 17:56, 25 June 2022 (UTC)
