Intermatic

[edit]

This page was deleted while I was in the process of finishing it. This was my first page and was showing the information about the company, historic timelines, and their product lines. I was updating links to references and when I went to save it you had already deleted it. I advise you wait longer than 15 minutes after a page is created to delete it. This is one reason why I was reluctant to even participate in wikipedia since people like you can delete perfectly relevant information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Socialsitecore (talkcontribs) 22:11, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

AGAIN WITH THE DELETION!!! THIS is NOT an Advertising Page. If there is language you would like removed, THEN EDIT IT. You have deleted 191,000 pages yet edited less than that. I have taken this issue up with Wikipedia Directly from this point.--Socialsitecore (talk) 22:49, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I believe that the deletion of KevMattuary was unjust. for this reason no one like us. It was claimed that wikipedia is not for something you just made up one day but is this not how all ideas are started? Yes our calender is not yet in use but none of the other calender reforms are not either. I leave you with a thought:

Azantis

[edit]

Dear NawlinWiki,

Very disappointed that you deleted my first page contribition to Wiki. The page name was Azantis. It's the second or third largest krill oil company in the world, and sells a product that has significant environmental discussion, in which Azantis is a leading voice. The two competitors' pages are perfectly accepted with not much or different information than I offered in the first draft for Azantis. I feel it's not wikipedia's role to give preferential treatment to some and not to others. My frustration is based on the outright inequality of your decision, and the fact that you did not consider precedent. Based on this information, please re-post the page, or at a minimum indicate which SPECIFIC content does not meet your personal judgement that it doesn't meet wiki standards. Dean Pallen

[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki.. I just added the Canadian Jazz musician Dean Pallen to WIkipedia and linked to an existing article on Wikipedia. I guess I saved it before I added some sources. I went back to add a few sources and you had already deleted it. Dean Pallen is a well known Jazz / world musician in Ottawa Ontario and just released a new CD/LP. Feel free to consider undeleted it.

[edit]

Dear NawlinWiki,

Thanks to delete so fast my intent to create a new Band Page here on Wiki, seems that you Administrators are paying attention to what is wrong and not to what is new. There are many ways to solve "problems", but surely the way to delete so fast an intent to post something considerable new is not good. I was still refreshing pages, read the help guide for post in a correst way, but...i realize i was too slow. So MR.NawlinWiki, thanks your efficient on your job....only a question: Is this a free encyclopedia that anyone can edit or just another make up "free" web?

Vikvikvik (talk) 19:23, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker)For possible likely reasons why the article was deleted, please see the band notability guidelines (which articles on bands must meet), the reliable source guidelines (which are necessary to show the band is notable), and this essay explaining why noone on Wikipedia really cares about 99% of the bands out there. If you can provide some reliable sources that demonstrate that the band is notable, then the page may be welcomed to the encyclopedia. Ian.thomson (talk) 02:39, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jacta77

[edit]

Dear NawlinWiki:

My entry page was in no way spam, self promotion etc... another reason is notability - this is very relative... my entry subject is notable in my native country & certain parts of Asia - it was stipulated that if adequate references were not established in a 10 day period the entry would be deleted... My entry was not given this grace period... (Jacta77 (talk) 03:01, 10 January 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Seems to me Wikipedia's flaw is the fact that "ordinary" people are supposedly not notable enough... this is not how it should be... everyone is notable in their own right... NawlinWiki - you may have just done the greatest favor... (Jacta77 (talk) 21:12, 13 January 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Anne (film)

[edit]

Look, Anne (film) was a joke, not a hoax. My history teacher made us create a W@ikipedia page on a WWII item that would never see the light of day. It could be anything we wanted and this is what I made. As soon as I get my grade I would've deleted the page but please, don't delete before then. Thank you.

The Layover Mixtape

[edit]

You deleted The Layover Mixtape under WP:CSD#A9 (non-notable recording where the artist's article does not exist). While I agree the recording may not have been notable, the artist (Evidence) apparently is. I would have thought that a redirect to the artist's page would have been more appropriate. Deletion Question

[edit]

I just started using wikipedia to edit/create today, probably the same as most of the people you deny pages to. I understand now why my article "Oscillator Z" is not acceptable. My brother, "Oscillator Z" IS currently signed with http://www.puremusiclabelgroup.com but not listed yet as he was signed recently. My question is, once his singles and releases are stated on that page, will that be a "reliable source"? I'm very interested in wikipedia editing and thought an article about him would be a good place to start. Just wondering. A lot of people here seem to think ANY website with info about something is "reliable" even though I can start a website for 1$ and write anything I please on it. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fowlewb507 (talkcontribs) 16:26, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

G'day admin who read, yesterday I was contributed an article about a band named "Along with Hatred" for twice, but those all deleted slightly. I thought it bcs I typed the article too short, so people may think that truly basic info is just useless. Should I rewrite a full story of this band instead of keeping the article retained or it also will be deleted as before? thanks admin, hope I can contribute one of the world's screamo bands from Indonesia.

Btw, I'm trying to relate the band's name with the following http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Naruto_chapters_%28Part_I%29 look up -~146. "Along with Hatred...!!" (憎悪とともに...!!, "Zōo to tomo ni...!!")~- as its name inspired by that Naruto part. Many thanks for ur attention, best regards n_n

Knights Hockey

[edit]

Hey man I'm not trying to be a problem. I just joined Wikipedia its seems really cool and great way to learn and add info for lots. I made the knights hockey page, and I'm trying to understand why its being called irrelevant. Its not promoting anything or doing anything bad at all. Its is about something that truly happened in the sports work. When i go and look up all kinda of articles to do with sports team, Ex. Alabama Crimson Tide Football, Or New York Knicks, Or a better example even London Knights, which is a hockey team which doesn't even play any more, they all have pages just about the team and team back ground. Thats all that was trying to be done here. I'm just trying to figure out why those are ok and the knights hockey page gets canned after like 18 minutes on here. Again, not mad, just confused and want to know how to get knights hockey page to stay like all the other sports ones get to and tell the story of this league, team, and events which really happened.

Why is this allowed? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottawa_City_Hockey_League — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigsleeper (talkcontribs) 18:12, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

knights hockey (continued)

[edit]

what about this one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England_national_amateur_football_team

and Could you please tell me how to make the knights hockey article notable?

  • You know, if you don't think there's a difference between a country's national amateur team and a team in a recreational roller hockey league in Searcy, Arkansas, there's not much I can do to help you. But in general, the subject has to be notable per WP:N, and you need to be able to support the article by citing reliable independent sources per WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:38, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, yes I understand the difference, but when you say in your above post that amateur team aren't allowed to have articles, that has to include all amateur teams, would u not agree? It should not have exceptions. I understand that it needs to have sources cited and I appreciate your help. But the page keeps getting deleted before I have time to get my sources put up there. If I take the time to get sources and have the links there that back it up can it stay? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigsleeper (talkcontribs) 18:48, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have deleted my article about this company after I edited the title. The article had been up since november, why was it suddenly a target for speedy deletion? Hi, Hope you have a good day, You recently deleted the article mentioned above, based on the fact tht it does nt point out why he is so important tht and why it should be on wikipedia, the article crearly state the position of the person as an artist, I don't understand why you guys delete articles that way, that is discouraging. Lords At War

[edit]

Hello NawlinWiki,

You have informed me that the article I wrote about the hip hop band Lords At War "does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant." In addition to the fact that Lords At War is a published hip hop act that recorded and released a 12" single in 1992 that sells for up to $550.00 per copy today, there are over ten paragraphs worth of additional information that detail "why the subject is important or significant."

I ask that you please "hang on" a moment and review the content of the article - including those reference sources that confirm the authenticity of the band and the value of their recording (www.discogs.com and www.popsike.com). I'm sure you will find that this is not a "contrived" or "invented" entry at all but one that was carefully written after doing thorough research and conducting extensive interviews.

Thank you for your consideration.

Mànran

[edit]

I politely request that the article about the band Mànran be reinstated as they are of cultural significance to Gaelic Scotland due to their efforts to raise the language's profile.

  • It doesn't matter if you, or I, think the band is significant. What matters is if you can show that they are notable per the guidelines at WP:BAND, as established by reliable independent sources per WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:16, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for that, I'll add some substance to it when I have time later.

Please consider reinstating entry for The Really Good Book Shop

[edit]

Hi, I respectfully request that you reconsider your deletion of the entry for The Really Good Book Shop. It is a work in progress and I had cited severaly sources for verification. It is included in the Independent Bookstore category for australia which includes only one other bookstore so far. It makes it look like Australia has no bookshops so I thought I would add this one as it is my awesome local store. Thanks for your time and consideration. Or if I have done something wrong, please let me know how to fix it. Smartbustard (talk) 12:30, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was still updating it when you deleted it and I had included a reference to a newspaper article and had intentions of including some more references that I was working on. Did you happen to see the updated reference. Please reconsider. I know it is my first article and I am a bit of a novice at this so please excuse me if I have stepped on any toes. I am trying to fulfil all of the requirements but I am a bit slow at all this computer stuff so please forgive me. Smartbustard (talk) 12:43, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To avoiding tramping over you, could you please go through and remove everything from the 'long list of stuff' filters you use? A lot of that is very old, and I'm sure no longer needed. The Church of Hip Hop Deletion unjustified.

This is a page describing an organization important to Hip Hop Fans. It is a Church 'without walls' They dwell in the undergrounds of Hip Hop and have no political nor religious affiliations. The organization was formed in China by an African American Man out of New Orleans, La. He moved to China and I know him. But have no way I of giving solid verification of His Existence aside form the fact that he is from New Orleans an travels throughout Asia pulling in new members for the church. And give speeches at underground hip hop events in Asia, and Latin America. What type of verification wold I need to justify the relevance of these facts. He gave me a program with tenets as well as by laws, structure of belief as he has also created a religion from an out of body experience he had whilst growing up in NOLA. Please tell me what I need to give you as proof aside from this pamphlet that he gave to me in Thailand. It has an enormous following amongst certain travelers I think the world show no of this wonderful organization The Church of Hip Hop is. Who can I legally write about his organization? A question/Guidance

[edit]

Hello there; I am Ani MSc student of computer science. Since my supervisor wanted us t o create a Wikipedia page, I have started a topic under name of ISLAB(Intelligence Systems Laboratory). And you deleted it by the criteria named "A7: No explanation of the subject's significance (real person, animal, organization, or web content))" and "‎ (A7 (web): Web content; doesn't indicate importance/significance)"... The content of page was referring to a brief introduction for this laboratory as it is directly by permission of my supervisor so we didn't have any copyright issues as well, but you had deleted it neither because of copyright access problem and/or the content type. Now I have a question Is creating this kind of pages really unimportance according to Wikipedia terms or did I missed something like reference or etc. for this purpose? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Animgr (talkcontribs) 09:51, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, you speedily deleted a page something like a week ago; and yes, I did read User:NawlinWiki/List_of_things_that_will_get_speedily_deleted; and no, WP:Conflict (even if obvious) doesn't suffice here. Hi... I see that you've blocked milfpounder88 for username violation. I was about to put it on the noticeboard as you were doing it. Good job

[edit]

Good job on the Robert Mazur speedy deletion (I was looking at it while you were deleting it). Particularly, the double-rationale - when an article is both copyvio and unduly promotional, it is impolite to imply that the creator could slap a CC-BY-SA tag on their website and have the article restored in tutum (no particular comment on this case, just a general pet peeve). And then you let the creator know how best to proceed if notability can be established and a new article written. All around good work - keep it up. - 2/0 (cont.) 22:53, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This may have to do with the fact that I submitted it before it was complete (in an attempt to save what i'd done to that point.) I finished and resubmitted but it was deleted just as quickly. I sited some fairly large websites in the music community (exclaim/punknews.) How much validation does an artists need before they are deemed notable? They're signed to one of the largest independent record labels in Canada(which has a wiki page) and they've tour across North America. If I add more information it could look like advertising. Please help me understand this deletion? Highways-Unknown (talk) 20:25, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Songwriters

[edit]

Hey a few of my songwriters were deleted off of wikipedia within minutes. I had significant references as well as links to each one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Keshafan123 (talkcontribs) 05:28, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Online Citizen

[edit]

I do not really know why an article on such an important socio-economic website as the Online Citizen in Singapore should be deleted. The website is so important that the government has forced it to register as a political organization. The government considers a major threat against the authoritarian regime. It is therefore VERY relevant to understanding Singapore politics today. There have been many reports about it in the local press as well as in Malaysia. Do you want quotes from these articles? How do I make notability known in the article? --Ghormax (talk) 11:48, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe I should add this sentence: The blog will become famous for being the first blog to be registered as a political association in Singapore. ?? --Ghormax (talk) 12:00, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When The Straits Times warrants an article, why not an alternative news platform? THIS IS NO ORDINARY BLOG! --Ghormax (talk) 13:51, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Democratic People's Republic of Korea?

[edit]

Any Reason that this is protected and the redirect of the page goes to the informal (Western) name rather than reverse? Just wondering before bringing it up on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's current site talk page at North Korea : TalkLostinlodos (talk) 23:37, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bedat & Co

[edit]

This was my first page writing about this company, historic timelines, and their product lines. Just like the article "Altermatic" this is clearly not an advertising page. I'm upset that my page got deleted and I strongly feel that it is unjust! — Preceding unsigned comment added by BabyJinxi3 (talkcontribs) 04:43, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

SomersTotalKare

[edit]

Exactly like the above article, this was my first page and was written impartially about the firm. There is an in depth history with external links to a lot of relevant local factors; while the business may not be as renowned in the states it carries a large heritage in the Black County, one of the key areas of Britain during the industrial revolution. All statements made are factual and can be backed up by the company who are established market leaders for the UK. I can see why the advertising deletion has been thrown as it is my first contribution but further analysis of the page states positive but impartial and FACTUAL claims and is clearly not an advertising feature. I too feel the deletion is strongly unjust, especially for such a well known firm, while an article on Walter Somers Handling a former body of the company that expired over 20 years ago, still (and rightfully) exists? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kingswinford92 (talkcontribs) 16:19, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you insist on including language like "With a team of area sales managers and executives headed by sales and marketing director, James Radford, SomersTotalKare provide lifts for 10,000 businesses and have established them as the UK’s market leading supplier of heavy duty mobile vehicle lifts. With major industry clients such as Scania, Arriva and First Bus, SomersTotalKare’s sales extend from large-scale trade corporations to local garages and the business prides itself on its mission statement “to help customers lift heavy duty vehicles in a safe and cost effective way, offering a market-leading service”.", the article will keep getting deleted as advertising. Furthermore, you need to find *independent* sources supporting the company's notability; "all statements can be backed up by the company" isn't helpful, because the company itself is not an independent source. Filter 295

[edit]

Hi, Nawlin. Filter 295 appears to have a lot of false positives and has only matched 11 now blocked accounts within the past 6 months. The rest appear to be moves in good faith. --Bsadowski1 19:15, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Book deletion

[edit]

Books aren't covered under A7. Your deletion The boy in the oak should always occur in my estimation, but isn't technically covered under A7. (I am watching this page, so please reply here.)Timneu22 · talk 22:30, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Texas State Senate districts

[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki,

I noticed you have already taken care of one of my requested CSDs. These were created by a known vandal (User:Mmbabies) who is IP-hopping to avoid a community ban. In any event these pages are fakes because the Texas State Senate only has 31 districts. I filed them under G3, but i see that G8 is probably a better tag in these cases. Thanks. -- Gridlock Joe (talk) 22:56, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please review my edits before you revert. The article is specificially about "civil war" and I updated and improved it. It was written very sloppy with too much personal views. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Me chase girl she chase me (talkcontribs) 04:40, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Quia

[edit]

Please see Talk:Quia. I was writing a response to the SD tag, meanwhile, the article was being deleted. I think you were a little trigger happy with that article. Is there a was to un delete it? Not-so-cheery, Mìthrandir (talk) 23:05, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks.

[edit]

Thanks for that. It was really frustrating me because this is what happened; I created the page, it got tagged for SD, I was writing on it's talk page and the article got deleted under A7, the talk page gets tagged for G8, I am editing the talk page to deal with that and the talk page gets deleted for G8... really annoying me.... thanks for clearing it up... Cheers. Mìthrandir (talk) 23:16, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Boticca

[edit]

Hi, I hope that this finds you well! While trying to move the stub page User:Trident13/Boticca to the page Boticca, I was advised by the system that the page had been protected. On reviewing the page, I discovered that in September 2009 that you had twice deleted content placed into the page about the same company, and had then placed a Permanent Protection tag on the page so that it can not be recreated. Having created an article on my personal stub page, I agree that in September 2009 Boticca would not have passed WP:NOTABILITY. However, having now created the stub article in January 2011, I believe that the company does (WP:RS includes the Telegraph, Daily Mail, New York Times and Vogue UK). I have hence requested unprotection of the page to allow the creation of a suitable article. I have requested this by placing a tag on the articles talkpage, with my reasoning. I would appreciate your input. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 23:20, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stinky Finger

[edit]

Hi. I'm in Colchester, in the UK. Several people in this town are fans of the band "Stinky Finger" which seems to have an albeit small but worldwide following. See for example this quote from one of the pages I cited as a reference: "Stinky Finger was the biggest band to come out of the East Tennessee area [...] Def And Dum by Stinky Finger was put out on cassette only and recorded in Bristol at Classic Studios in 1988. Copies circulated for years and everyone I know from those days can still sing and rap these songs" - from http://www.taringa.net/posts/musica/850783/Stinky-Finger---Def-and-Dum.html

I just spent about an hour working out how to produce a properly constructed stub page, sitting here with my brother who has been familiar with this band for many years. We were delighted to see the page appear and then crest-fallen when it was speedily deleted. Please could you consider re-instating it :) Ponzi Nemesis (talk) 02:23, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your speedy response. I have had a look at the links you provided and can see that this is, at best, a borderline case. However, given that I have created the page (I didn't think to save a copy of the source but presumably it can be retrieved if we agree the page should be re-instated?) I expect you'll agree that it is a worthwhile excercise to determine which side of that borderline is appropriate in this instance.

I note that criterion 7 of WP:BAND states "Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability". I have found a multitude of references from seemingly independent sources indicating that this band qualifies with respect to being "most prominent of the local scene of a city". The following, for example, is quoted in several places, including on the page I linked to above:

"The Tri-Cities, (Bristol, Johnson City, Kingsport) was never known for it's music scene like Athens, Los Angeles, or Seattle. [...] I'm gonna go ahead and go on record as saying that before two bands there was no real "alternative" music scene here. Those two bands were Stinky Finger and Brian And The Nightmares. We all followed their lead. And if I had to narrow it down even further, we followed Stinky Finger's lead. Not musically but in attitude. They were bigger and more influential in our scene than anyfuckingthing on MTV."

If true it would seem to indicate that, circa 1988 at least, criterion 7 was satisfied. You were correct to delete the page as I was not aware how strict the WP:BAND, perhaps understandably, are, and as a consequence had not addressed the need to demonstrate notability. However now I am aware of the criteria, looking at the evidence I can find online, it seems to me that the balance of probabilities is that the band was at the very least notable in the "local scene" sense.

I have no connection to the band. I haven't even heard their music. However I am following my instincts in that if a band from the US has fans in the UK, based on a cassette that was circulating over twenty years ago, then that fact probably ought to be noted by wikipedia. I feel it ought to be possible for someone such as myself to make that happen without having to spend hours researching the matter.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks again. Ponzi Nemesis (talk) 03:47, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can I do a remake of my previous page as mentioned above, as long as I make it a lot more factual, plz? :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dinodazer2000 (talkcontribs) 09:45, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tyger Vinum

[edit]

Hello I wrote the article on Tyger Vinum. All that's missing is why he is notable. I can provide that information immediately if the article is re-instated. Gary Hunt

[edit]

Hi, I was writing an article about the Commonwealth bronze medalist and Olympic hopeful diver Gary Hunt, who is the current Red Bull Cliff Diving world champion. This person is clearly notable, search google for Gary Hunt and you will see that he is a big name for Red Bull and in the sport of cliff diving. This is obvious - he is the world champion.

You deleted my article the moment I started to write it, giving me no chance to build it up and insert sources.

How about next time you give me a chance to write more than the first sentence before you delete it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cas84 utd (talkcontribs) 13:21, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Red Bull Cliff Diving is not a professional sports competition, and you've mentioned that he's only an Olympic "hopeful", which means essentially nothing. But, since you asked so kindly, I've restored the article for you to give you some more time to work on it. This does not mean that it will not be deleted again if the finished version still does not credibly assert notability. Soap 16:07, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- In response to above, define "professional sports competition" please. Red Bull Cliff Diving competitors face strict qualification requirements for the championship, compete against each other in a number of events round the globe over the course of the year, and are awarded prize money based on their performance. For many of them it is their only "job" and requires year round training programs. It is far more physically and emotionally demanding than regular Olympic diving. Please explain why you feel they are not professional sports competitors, and how they differ from, say, a poker player, for which you have many many articles on wikipedia. Furthermore, even if you still consider Red Bull Cliff Diving to not be a professional competition, Gary has a 3rd place finish at the Commonwealth Games, which certainly is a professional sports competition. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cas84 utd (talkcontribs) 17:43, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ginkgo CADx

[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki, I saw that you have deleted the Ginkgo CADx entry in wikipedia, I write this page because I saw this project in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_open_source_healthcare_software and this software doesn't have a page like the others opensource projects. I need to do something to reenable this page?. Thanks in advance. Metadiego (talk) 15:55, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I removed your Prod. While I agree it is not notable, this is likely to be controversial, so please send it to WP:AfD. Bearian (talk) 16:02, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
