NeuTrix
First off, well intended sir, NeuTrix.com was perfectly operational until yesterday, when I chose the more economical route of shutting it down as, like the sites it strives to expose, it went unnoticed. Being of an entrepenoural disposition, I also chose to create a Wikipedia entry for the site, as the site survive(d) purely from the funds of generous companies whose ads were hosted as banners. The downfall of my site was in that no company in their right mind is going to advertise on a site with less than fifty hits per day, ten of which would be my own. I would appreciate your allowing me to write a full length article about the site, and not blithely deleting my works. Thank you, Blain (BlainReese325) —Preceding unsigned comment added by BlaineReese325 (talk • contribs) 20:48, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- In other words, you're trying to use Wikipedia to promote your site. That's not allowed, see WP:SPAM. Not to mention that you haven't asserted that the site meets (or met) the notability guidelines of WP:WEB. In fact, the "less than fifty hits" is an admission that it's not notable. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:51, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Your page protections
Hey. Why on earth are you adding random length semi-protections to the pages that you are protecting from move vandalism? Some of these articles have not received any vandalism besides the moves and with the rest, the semi-protection is not justified. I'm not the only one wondering this, apparently. Prolog (talk) 05:39, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Quite. Please don't add semi edit protection to pages that you've just move protected for that specific reason. If the semi protect is already there, that's one thing. But adding semi protection only because it had page-move vandalism is an overreaction. seresin ( ¡? ) 08:45, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Because if you don't semiprotect, this vandal returns to the pages he moved and adds dummy edits with fake pagemove edit summaries (usually offensive, and usually with an account with an offensive username). There's a long history of this. NawlinWiki (talk) 12:06, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- You're certainly more knowledgeable about this type of vandalism, so if you're confident that it happens enough to warrant automatic semi protection, I'll defer to your judgment. seresin ( ¡? ) 00:36, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- I understand why you do this, but please make sure you set an expiry (the above seems to indicate you've started doing this, which is good). At present I'm faced with going through Wikipedia:Database reports/Indefinitely semi-protected articles and unprotecting the semi's you've set and no one bothered to lower... –xeno (talk) 13:31, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Will do. Those older ones are from before you could set an expiry on a semiprotect and an indefinite moveprotect at the same time. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:29, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- right, how soon I forget. cheers, –xeno (talk) 14:44, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Will do. Those older ones are from before you could set an expiry on a semiprotect and an indefinite moveprotect at the same time. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:29, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- I've compiled a list of the pages left over from the indef-semi era here: [1]. What would you suggest is the best way forward to having these lowered in the least chaotic fashion? I gather that at least some of the pages you've intentionally indefinitely semi-protected (perennial vandal targets, feel free to remove them from my sandbox list) but I'm sure the others might benefit from a relaxing of their protection. –xeno (talk) 19:58, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello NawlinWiki. Can I just ask that you're a little more careful when removing diffs from pages? I removed a diff from deceased wikipedians last week, and when you removed some more diffs, you added it back. I'm going to have to try and remember/find the diff again now. Request protected page move
Hi there! I noticed you were the admin who protected Charles, Prince of Wales from being moved. Over a month ago I suggested the page be moved to The Prince Charles, Prince of Wales (his full title) and no objections have been made. I'd like to know if you'd be willing to make the move for me or whether you believe more input is necessary. Thanks, --Cameron* 21:35, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'd like to see some more discussion. My immediate impression is that nobody calls him "The Prince Charles" except in formal documents; also, see Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (not "The Prince Philip"). NawlinWiki (talk) 00:29, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Mark Jones - Wall of Sound.
What did you do with Mark Jones - Wall of Sound? G7 was not the appropriate tag. If you look at the history, it was a false claim on behalf of the tagger that they were the sole and original author. I was in the process of contacting the tagger to try to sort this out when you deleted the article with the fallacious criteria.-Andrew c [talk] 17:27, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- [2] looks like the author blanking a newly-created page. Am I missing something? NawlinWiki (talk) 17:29, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- The 2nd to last edit was the same user restoring the page, and the user has tried to create a similar page in the past (see Mark Jones (Wall of Sound)) and they recreated the page in their user space. I don't believe it was the intention of the user to have the page deleted. Do you believe Unit2guc wanted their article deleted, honestly? Whether it deserved to be deleted is another question. So, maybe I'm just getting caught up in the bureaucratic processes, but I don't see G7 being accurate.-Andrew c [talk] 17:37, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- I see what you mean. The article would have qualified for deletion under category g11, blatant advertising, anyway. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:39, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for catching the page-move vandalism on synesthesia and bouba/kiki effect. There's been so much page-move vandalism lately, that it's almost to the point around here where we should just make page moves require an admin! I'm that's not an appealing thought to you admins, but depending on how many valid page moves there are, it might reach a point where the trade-off works out in favor of locking all the pages. Anyway, thanks. Edhubbard (talk) 22:28, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi there. Sorry to bother you but there is a user making profoundly odd edits. Can I get the deleted versions of Pillow Fight League restored somewhere in userspace for possible recreation? They've garnered a fair bit of press recently (albeit of the oddball tabloid variety) that may yield enough credibility to warrant it. I note that two of the three versions deleted were deleted for notability-related reasons, one of which went all the way to AfD, so I'd very much like to see them all, not just the most recent one, if you'd oblige. Florida Elite Soccer League
I just noticed that you quick deleted the Florida Elite Soccer League. Please reinstate it as it is a recognized fifth division U.S. soccer league. - I know that per WP:FOOTY consensus, amateur *teams* aren't notable, and a big reason I deleted this article is that it seemed to have spawned articles on all the teams in the league. I don't mind reinstating the article on the league if you don't mind that I would de-link all the team names, and I would not reinstate the team articles. Let me know what you think. NawlinWiki (talk) 04:50, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Sorry about tagging it for deletion, when I noticed it the article (and the last ten or so revisions) appeared to be complete rubbish. I went through and cut out all the nonsense I could, would you mind giving it a once-over and see if it looks decent? And maybe a semiprotect, since the IP seems to enjoy adding nonsense. Selective deletions
From your archives, I count at least three administrators who have politely asked you to stop deleting pages and selectively restoring them (c.f. discussion here). Consider me the fourth administrator doing so. These deletions are not appropriate and I'm asking that you stop them immediately. No content in Category:Iranian tanks
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Iranian tanks, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Iranian tanks has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Iranian tanks, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi. I was just wondering if you could lift the permenent protection from Template:Super Bowl XXXI. From what I could tell, it was only vandalized once (which was quickly corrected) and you protected it 6 months after the vandalism occurred. There is a good amount of DAB work needed to be done on the template, and I'm just not sure why this Super Bowl navbox deserves this kind of protection as opposed to other Super Bowl navboxes. If you feel as though it still needs proctection, please consider lowering the level of protection. If I'm missing something, please let me know. Speedy deletion of User talk:Sandbox for user warnings
A tag has been placed on User talk:Sandbox for user warnings requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it contains a gallery in the userspace which consist chiefly of fair use or non-free images.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:User talk:Sandbox for user warnings|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
