ALSO FYI
There was a member of Meshuggah named Adam Gardner, although never technically attributed to the band he was a fill in for about a month and was considered as an addition the band for a while. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.114.244.150 (talk) 12:03, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
FYI
An ongoing discussion. And another one here. Feel free to comment. A case is building for a permanent community ban mainly based on this and its inability to learn any lessons from it. All sides may weigh in. The Real Libs-speak politely 19:45, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- I noticed that. There are many users of the WP:METAL crew who are constantly removing his template due to the overkill factor. He has also templated (numerous times bordering on edit warring) many of the pages covered by the Wiki-alternative rock Project. Again... most of his work has been reverted by members of that project. Whether your opinion is positive or negative it doesn't matter. That is what the admins involved need to know. Does the heaps of negative outweigh the bounds of positive. Lots of editors with an abundance of positive edits have still been blocked because the good did not outweigh the bad. The important thing is that all the sides are heard. The Real Libs-speak politely 20:25, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
JFAC
I don't think "heavy metal" is an appropriate label for the band, since it could be confused with actual heavy metal bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, ect. JFAC is/was a death metal/deathcore group. I find simply putting "metal" would be better. TheSickBehemoth (talk) 22:24, 2 October 2008 (UTC)TheSickBehemoth

There's already a reference for the Australian section, but I'm reading over old ARIA Reports. The reference is a .pdf file from the Pandora Archive, here http://pandora.nla.gov.au/pan/23790/20030507-0000/Issue%20686.pdf. Ss112 (Talk here!) 06:15, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
This is what i'm trying to do
Sadly my browser is refreshing and submitting information for some reason. I added on the chart peaks for the Mainstream Rock Tracks, which Billboard magazine uses to gauge the top rock songs in the country. That's it. Apparently, but accident I added a second Sweden bar and was trying to fix it. Sorry. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 19:51, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- Also, I might add now, that aside from one minor thing that I was just about to fix, the singles page looks fine right now. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 19:52, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
A discography question
Quick question. I think this discography is a useless page on Wikipedia. It is a list of albums that will never, ever have articles here. Is this sort of thing a new mandate of the discography proj? I doubt it is. I can attach a quick AfD or Speedy_D to it if you want. The Real Libs-speak politely 13:05, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Template
The genre field has been removed from the musician (and later on today album) templates. It will likely be voted on and rm'd from the song/single boxes in the next few weeks. The Real Libs-speak politely 19:21, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Audio sample
Hi Cannibaloki! I hope you are allright.. I am just trying to make some more audio samples for Meshuggah. I downloaded and installed Audacity (as per WP:CMF) but I cant figure out how to cut 30 secs from the song and make it ogg format. The program is kind of weard. I ve seen you did the "bleed" sample. Could you give me some advices how to do that please?-- LYKANTROP ✉ 14:14, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! I got it - nero worked out fine. Cheers!-- LYKANTROP ✉ 16:25, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Re:Where You Are
Nah, I haven't left. I just don't feel like doing much on here currently. I moved into town and got a girlfriend a while ago, so I guess I'm doing more now. I still think Wikipedia is cool, and I still think mine, and many other's articles are great, but it seems people have gotten too serious. I started doing it for fun, and the first few articles I did were very, very fun, but people started getting too serious, and it just hasn't been fun to me latley. I still work on articles from time to time, I just have to feel motivated, if I just do it because I feel I'm obligated, my work is sloppy and procrastinated, but when I get a sudden spur, it's fun for a while again. Just for clarity. I still ceck my watchlist on a regular basis to tell you the truth. Burningclean [speak] 03:40, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Well if you go on different talk pages the template is muddled up, the metal and the record template has the same problem. --Russian Airplay (talk) 19:00, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
- Are you sure about that one since the other version makes the template look small, i don't really have a clue what i'm doin but it works so or am i wrong. --Russian Airplay (talk) 19:15, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Ezkaton
Hi there,
I didn't mean to piss you off or anything by adding that second label to the EP. I would just like to know why you undid that edit the second time. The first time you undid my edit was because of I should only add record labels that the album was originally released on. After you undid that I started to clarify that each label was for a different continent, but it seems you still undid that one too, but you didn't leave a message and I would like to know what made you undo this edit.
Perhaps this would explain my actions:
“ | BEHEMOTH will release a new EP, "Ezkaton", in North America on November 11 through Metal Blade Records and on November 20th in Europe through Regain Rec. | ” |
— Manticore, http://www.behemoth.pl/ |
That's posted by the guy who posts all the news on their site. You can look it up by visiting the site and go to page 2 of the news history. If I'm still not correct, please tell me why so that I can learn from it (I'm new at Wikipedia).Resilldoux (talk) 07:08, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok thank you for your reply. But on WP:ALBUM is just explained how to specify the date of the release, as in the album/EP, not the label. However, on the Label section is explained how to specify the label of the release. "Only the record label that the album was originally released on should be specified". I agree, you told me that the first time, but Regain is in fact an original record label that the EP will be released on, in Europe. Metal Blade covers the states, Regain covers Europe. And since it says nothing about specifying the label which will release the EP the first, I think Regain should be mentioned there too. Resilldoux (talk) 07:41, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Megadeth template
hey man i just wanna say and i don't want to sound innapropiate that the template for the megadeth singles is wrong... i mean i know some of them are promos but with the current template there are missing some of the singles from megadeth's latest albums and i don't think is possible that all those missing singles are in fact promos, please reply me this or fix the template if it's not too much troble —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.165.133.221 (talk) 23:58, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi there
So im still pretty new to this whole wikipedia thinger-maginger, but im slowly but surely learning. and i have to apologize for putting bands up on the wiki page 2008 in heavy metal like Comeback Kid and Saosin, that was not me who posted them, that was my bro hahaha. he's firmly convinced that these bands have metal influence, but not enough to be considered heavy metal or anything similar. but it was i who posted saying taht i thought it was kinda not right that if a band doesn't have a wiki profile (when they should) that they don't deserve to be on the lists... bands like The faceless used to have a wiki profile, but for some reason not known to me were promptly deleted. thank you

What?
Read Wikipedia:Own first, this is not "your work" this is everyone's, also this is the FREE encyclopedia. But insted of arguing, why don't you give me around 10 mins and I will show you the article's lead, completely re-written, maybe you can help me improve it. Remember, don't get frustrated if I want to improve something you've done, the best thing you can do is join me, that way we can fix all the Maiden-related articles.
PD:Would you like to join me on a Wikiproject: Iron Maiden, and maybe invite someone you might know who could be interested. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 02:45, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Sooo, what do you say? Rockk3r Spit it Out! 03:33, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Take a look at other discographies, that are FA. Those refs abot canada are not needed the way you put them. I don'y need to have books, all the info can be found on the internet, tahts'a the best way to show the references as they can be checked by everyone. If you help me I'm ready to start working on the project, please if you know of someone who might be interested, do not hesitate on telling them about it, I cant wait to see the Iron Maiden articles looking as good as the NIN ones. Thanks in advance. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 03:56, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Iron Maiden Timeline
Can you help me find out why it doesn't show the names, could you fix it?
PD: Don't try to add any other member, just try to make the names appear, I'm gonna use it in List of Iron Maiden band members. I already started helping thepages :), haven't seen you around, I'm just kiddin'. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 04:50, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
So..
I don't wanna start a fight with you. First because that's like talking to the wall and second because you say "ursurping someone's work" this is NOT! your article, this is everyone's ok? I tried to get you to improve the Maiden pages but nothing can be done as you only revert my edits as if you were the owner. I know it's your work, but that doesn't mean it's gotta be perfect, and it's not. There are many feat> lists about discographies. I will gather some and show'em to you and get to an agreement on how to improve Maiden's discography. Also, about WarCry band members, I think that's none of you business as how you said "it's my work" right?... I took it to featured article, what have you done? Try to find info about that band (WarCry) and try to take it to the status where it is now, knowing that there's pretty much nothing compared to Maiden or Tallica or Megadeth or Judas or.... so many others. Then don't talk to me as if I was an stupid kid who doesn't know what he's doing. I called you "know-it-all" guy because you were actingridiculous, and that's one of your defects. I'm not trying to insult you with this, but when someone tells you something don't just take it the wrong way, better yet, think of "what good advice is he trying to tell me" The reason why I asked you to help me with the maiden pages is because I've seen your work and I think it's pretty good, and that you could be of a BIG help. Too bad you just don't listen it's like if you were wearing a blinder. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 07:20, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Maiden disco
I see that you've been improving that article. I'll go ahead and fix some stufss, please after I do so, if you think there';s something that shouldn't go or is being misplaced don't just revert my edit, but first tell me the reason in my talk page. I don't wanna start a war. I as well as you, also want to improve Maiden's disco. Don't take it the wrong way, but on the article's lead you fixed many things that look way better now, but you also included some controversial sentences that could be better on the album's articles. e.g. The number of the beast created some controversies, better not there. The reason why is because when this article gets to be a F.L. those are some of the things that will take it down. You're very good at finding refs, I really don't know how you do all that, but now when I edit we'll try to cite all of those things. Have a good one. Rockk3r Spit it Out!
Could you find their charting history in Japan?. I tried but couldn't do it, because I didn't understand anything from the charts. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 01:36, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Quick question
Do the refs included in this edit support all the really bad sounding adjectives and weasel words like "considered as one of heavy metal's all-time best debuts, the album proved to be incredibly influential for future metal bands" That statement is an unencyclopedic as they come. "metal bands"??? that's teen chat room speech... "groundbreaking"??? is that adjective in a ref somewhere in there? - "although has caused controversy among religious groups—due the demonic album title—who wrongfully labeled the band as Satan worshippers" a bit off-topic in a discography? Seems superfluous and unreq'd. I won't revert as it is a fiery 'work-in-progress' Rock3rr is working on getting blocked for all of his POV DAB re-directs which go against Wikipedia standards. And there is a bit of WP:OWN being lashed back and forth as well on the IM discog page. Take another look at the writing style of the prose in the IM discog page lead-in and reflect on WP:AWW, WP:NPOV and WP:NOR for a bit. I was asked behind the scenes if blocks were in order and I said no. I am sure it'll all get sorted. The Real Libs-speak politely 17:21, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I'm not understand you, the references that I'm using cover the critics views. Exactly, the opinion of critics, not mine, was not I who wrote it. I suggest you pay more attention on the references. Cannibaloki 18:50, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Cannibaloki
I hope you read this. The past few days I had some personal issues that, wrongly, brought over to wikipedia.
- First I asked you to help me in a "Maiden project" and you told me you were willing to help only if I handled the writing and you the references and all that. As I said I had some problems and got a little mad when you reverted my edits. Well, to shorten this up and not make it any longer... I've come here to apologize about all the errors I commited this past few days. I don't expect you to talk to me or anything, but just to know that I'm here with the same purpose that you are "help the heavy metal articles, here in wikipedia" especifically Iron Maiden right now. So that you know I won't argue with you anymore and before I make a big change or anything to the Maiden's related articles, like the discography, I'll talk to you first, as it is part of your hard work. Once again, sorry for everything. Have a nice day. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 04:43, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
And what does "Commons" has to do with their discography? Anyways I'm not here to fight anymore. Quick question, you said that the EP's peak on the chart could be easily be found on their respective articles, then all the reviews about the albums that are written on the discography's lead should be placed on the album's articles, on a section called "reception". Don't you think so? I'll let you work on the references and tables and everything else that you're doing to the page, as you're doing it very well and I'm glad about it. Just ask for your permission (I'm doing this to not create any more wars) to re-write the lead on a professional way (please don't take this wrong, you've done a good job on the lead), because to be considered a "perfect lead" which could be proposed for F.L. it should then be re-written. If you don't mind I'll take some featured discographies as reference, and write the lead on my sandbox, after I finnish I'll show it to you and ask for your opinion. Again, please don't take this the wrong way, the lead looks good, but it doesn't sound "professional". Take care bro. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 03:40, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, I already told you not to feel bad about the work yuo've done on the lead. It's good, just that it could be imrpoved. I'll re-write it and let you know when I'm finninsh. Don't worry I won't put it on the article until you've seen it on my sandbox, ok? Rockk3r Spit it Out! 04:09, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't really understand what you just told me. Could you be clearer? Rockk3r Spit it Out! 04:28, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
OK. Now let me finnish and I'll let you know. Then we can both improve it including the info about their reception and also the reviews that you suggest should be added. I agree with you they should be on the lead, but I'll try to make'em as short as possible, so that the lead doesn't get too long that passes the limit line of the infobox, but it has all the info that is necessary and the overviews. Just gimme a couple of mins. What time is it now in Brazil? So that I know if you're about to sign out or anything. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 04:38, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Take a look over here and leave me some comments on my talk page about what you think it could be imrpoved.
- PD: there are two red links in the references, don't look at that, they are the RIAA and "everyHIT.com", both appearing on the actual article about the discography. Please leave me your comments about the lead. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 17:34, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Take a look at the lead on Maiden's discography. It was copy-edited by SRX and Dabomb87. It also contains "overviews" from the reviews as you suggested it was a good option that should be included. It doesn't have any substancial sentence or phrase and respects the NPOV. See for yourself. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 05:10, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Take another look. IMO this is one of the beast leads for a band's discography around here, including the Featured ones. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 05:43, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
I added a list of music videos with a source and removed the LP Discography source. I see no need to use the RPM page to cite each individual peak, as it's cited in essentially the same way that the Billboard peaks are (i.e., it gives an archive and searching manually reveals the results). The "Jed Zeppelin" song did chart and I think it needs a mention somewhere, since it was sort of a Diamond Rio song. Also, there seems to be virtually no information on Can't You Tell, and they never put out any VHS/DVD compos.
