Speedy deletion of Image:Rahulgandhipic.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Rahulgandhipic.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Rahulgandhipic.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Better source request for File:Mumbai 809497988.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you.

File permission problem with File:Karam Singh Portrait.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Karam Singh Portrait.jpg, which you've attributed to http://www.indianarmy.gov.in/Site/FormTemplete/frmPhotoGalleryWithMenuWithTitle.aspx?MnId=NCvnix4zLfQhf90l3OuEBw%3d%3d&ParentID=1tHir3NYQjroCJ9AgypEwg%3d%3d. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. James (TC) • 1:21pm 02:21, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It says clearly that the image is being used under Fair Use. Similar to File:Param veer chakra.gif. I don't understand why permission is needed.

Your recent editing history at Yogendra Singh Yadav shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Note that my removal of the image as a clear NFCC violation is expressly exempted from 3RR restrictions. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo) (talk) 22:42, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically Yogendra Singh Yadav, may fail our non-free image policy. Hi, your edit to Imran Khan has been reverted, just keep in mind, here is not personal rules applicable, one infobox is appropriate as the standards of encyclopedia. Subject is not any more a cricketer, if you want to read yourself, create an article in which you can add all history of his scores. You have to reach a WP:consensus per Due and undue weight instead. I hope this helps. Justice007 (talk) 16:02, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello EdJohnston (talk). My contribution to the article in question meets ALL of wikipedia's guidelines regarding WP:BLP, WP:OR, WP:NPOV and WP:Verifiability. You can read it in detail if you go through the talk page. The person deleting it is violating WP:NPOV. Myopia123 (talk) 01:33, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinion that the other editor is violating NPOV does not grant you an exemption from the WP:Edit warring policy. When there is a dispute, there is no substitute for a discussion. The conflicting parties are expected to have the patience and the skills needed to resolve their conflict. EdJohnston (talk) 01:38, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi EdJohnston (talk). Absolutely. Point taken. As you can see from the Talk Page, I have given multiple points in great detail. The lack of discussion has been from the other party. Myopia123 (talk) 01:40, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The ingenuity of your discussion risks confusing you on the probable result. If you revert again (prior to getting consensus) you will most likely be blocked. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 01:46, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, EdJohnston (talk), as I said in the talk page, my next step will be to initiate an RfC. Not a revert.Myopia123 (talk) 01:53, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration Enforcement warning: WP:NEWBLPBAN

[edit]

The following thread[1] was closed at WP:AE wherein you, along with 3 other users, have been admonished for conduct incompatible with WP:BATTLE on pages covered by WP:BLP and thus WP:NEWBLPBAN. In particular the interaction between you and User:Factchecker_atyourservice is noted as the locus of the issue here.
All 4 users are reminded that casting unfounded aspersions about other editors or misrepresenting their communications is unhelpful. Furthermore Factchecker_atyourservice is singled out for ad hominem remarks. Please note that recidivism will result in escalating sanctions. Multiple avenues of dispute resolution are open to resolving disputes productively (rather than trying to “win” by excluding the other) and without breaching the rules. You are all strongly advised to avoid making any personal remarks about other editors, speculating on their intentions or making value judgments about their contributions--Cailil talk 13:09, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Information icon Hello, I'm Störm. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Abhinandan Varthaman seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Störm (talk) 09:05, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

HiStörm, I disagree with you 100% and I see that your edits have also since been reverted.Myopia123 (talk) 20:41, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
