Suzanne Kohn

I've not done the research: are we sure that Suzanne Kohn and Suzanne Kohn (aviator) are not one and the same person. Both French. Both Jewish. One rich. The other able to fund her aviation activities. You've noted Not to be confused with Suzanne Kohn (aviator). • If you look at the names of those two people you will see that in Suzanne Kohn's case, "Kohn" was her married name; but in the case of Suzanne Kohn (aviator), "Kohn" was her birth name. So that would indicate two separate people.MurielMary (talk) 09:00, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Moran

I think it's best if some of the attempts at communication on this issue occur here rather than the article talk page. I can accept your removal of the entire filmography as a good faith though misguided effort. And I can understand that emotions and accusations on the talk page have made communication difficult, and to whatever extent I contributed to that I apologize. But I hope you will take a moment to realize that the issue isn't really about IMDb. It's about the film itself being the source, which is the way almost every item in every filmography is sourced. I've seen some exceptions with upcoming films where the film itself is not available, or with uncredited roles. If you want to challenge an uncredited role I don't have a problem with that. I really don't want this to escalate to an RfC or ANI report because that takes our time away from other things here and in real life (although I've never hesitated to do that if necessary). I don't plan to comment further on the Moran talk page unless others who haven't discussed the issue chime in, and I have encouraged IP 2605 not to do so. I hope you will consider my comments in the spirit in which they are intended, which is to improve the article as well as defuse unnecessary conflict. Thanks. Many thanks for taking the time to leave a note here, Sundayclose. I agree with your assessment of the emotions etc getting in the way of constructive discussion of the issue (the question of reliable sourcing). In my experience of WP sourcing, an actor's appearance in a film has been cited to a film review or news report etc rather then relying on IMDb because it's user-generated. That's also how I've read the policies/guidelines etc and that's what I wanted to achieve on the Moran article, particularly because I wanted it to appear on the main page under recent deaths, and the editors who contribute to those choices are of the opinion that IMDb isn't a valid source. DEFAULTSORT

Hello my friend, thought I'd point out that with every bio that you prepare, the DEFAULTSORT parameter is missing. That's quite important for bios as without them, the article doesn't sort correctly in categories. WP:SORTKEY explains this more fully. Can you please remember to define this from here on in? Statue of Harriet Tubman

I was delighted to discover your article on the Statue of Harriet Tubman in Ypsilanti, Michigan, my former home town. I did not know about it until reading your article. I am an editor who does a fair amount of sculpture editing and I'd like to make a suggestion. Usually when there are multiple casting of the same work they are all included in one article. The Hiker (Newman) and The Hiker (Kitson) being two good examples. I'd like to see the same approach used with this work, but since it is your work we are talking about it is really up to you. I just emailed DeDecker about some stuff, including that our picture of her work in Ypsilanti is a copyright violation, and what can we do about that? I am looking for her title of the piece before putting out the new article. I think I have it pretty much ready to go.

Harriet Tubman (DeDecker)
The statue of Harriet Tubman is located on the campus of Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. It honors the life of abolitionist Harriet Tubman.

The bronze statue was created by artist Jane DeDecker and gifted to the university in 1997. It is located at the entrance to Thurmond-McRae Lecture Hall and depicts Tubman walking and holding the hand of a young boy. Its installation was the first instance of an educational institution in the southern United States honouring Tubman in such a visible way.

Another casting of the work was originally placed in Little Rock’s Riverfront Park in NEED DATE, however during the construction of the Game and Fish Nature Center in the park it was relocated to the entrance of Clinton Presidential Center as part of a series of six pieces of art lining a walkway from the downtown area of Little Rock to the Presidential Center.

A third casting was unveiled on 21 May, 2006 in Ypsilanti, Michigan as part of a redevelopment of a plaza adjacent to the Ypsilanti District Library.

Two years later, the library board added a plaque to the statue describing Tubman's life and achievements as a response to local queries about the statue; the original plaque was located at the base of the rear of the statue in an area difficult to read easily.

I also just discovered that in 1995 the statue was placed in Harriet Tubman Children's Parke in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa AZ, making it the earliest so far. Carptrash (talk) 00:40, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
