Speedy deletion nomination of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Yobe State
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Yobe State requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.fedpodam.edu.ng/About. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Mvqr (talk) 16:19, 19 May 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of The Initiative for Equal Rights
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Initiative for Equal Rights, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://www.africaportal.org/content-partners/initiative-equal-rights-tiers/. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Mirrors
[edit] Thanks for contributing to the article Gadar Tamburawa River. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Sam Kuru (talk) 11:34, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- Again here, please be more careful when evaluating the sources you are adding. If it says the material comes from Wikipedia, then it is obviously not an acceptable reference. Sam Kuru (talk) 11:02, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, Thank you. Muhammad Idriss Criteria (talk) 11:14, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
- Again, here. One of those is the exact same mirror I warned you about above. It may be a good idea to stop adding sources until are able to evaluate them. Sam Kuru (talk) 23:17, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- Additionally, this source literally is in a section that credits Wikipedia in the actual title. Here the 'wordaz' source notes "Meaning of Mmamu from wikipedia". I'm not clear on how you're reading these at all. Sam Kuru (talk) 23:28, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- More very, very clear sourcing to mirrors on Wase River and Hadejia River. Please consider this a final warning. Using fake sources is not acceptable. Sam Kuru (talk) 03:23, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, Thank you. Muhammad Idriss Criteria (talk) 11:14, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

Blocked
[edit]As you were warned several times before, and chose to re-add several mirrors back in to the article at Wase River, I've blocked this account for 48 hours. You're deliberatly adding fake sources to articles at this point. Once this block expires, you are free to continue editing, but future violations - especially re-adding the same fake sources - will lead to longer blocks. Sam Kuru (talk) 12:01, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- All the references added to the Wase River article are good I checked them carefully before I added them, and I got them from reliable and good source, you should not block me without a good evidence. Muhammad Idriss Criteria (talk) 12:22, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- On the "trek.zone" site, it notes "Based on: Wikipedia" very clearly after the text you cited. The "alchetron" site has a very clear link below the exact same text that notes "Wase River Wikipedia (Text) CC BY-SA" and links back to the article here. "geoview.info" is a garbage scraper that notes "Wase River is next to Wase River", and clicking through to the source links to Wikipedia again.
- Exactly how did you check them "carefully"? How do you feel those meet our criteria for reliable sources? Walk me through your decision making process. Sam Kuru (talk) 12:33, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Kuru But all the references on Wase River are talking about whether in the future if you see that something is not in line with your plan, you should delete it and then announce that you have deleted it because it is not in line with your plan. Muhammad Idriss Criteria (talk) 13:38, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

Someone has been blocking me from editing in English wikipedia his name is Sam Kuru because of mirror as he said, really I don't know what mirror is and it's rules but later I understood what mirror is, and it's rules in English wikipedia. Now I unerstand everything about mirror and I will be very careful. I will not make the same mistake as I did before by God will.
Decline reason:
This request does not convince me that you understand what mirrors are and why you should not cite them. Please state, in your own words, what a reliable source is and why mirrors are not reliable sources. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 12:54, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
I have been blocked from editing in English Wikipedia because of some big mistakes I made and I am not happy with what I did. especially against the wikipedia policy and arguing with the admin. The crimes that I have committed that caused me to be blocked are as follows: The first one is that I added references to some articles that I thought were good, but the admin told me that I did what is called mirror sites in Wikipedia, which is a big mistake in the policy of Wikipedia, instead of correcting my mistake like The way he told me, I continued to add references without using the advice he gave me. He took a long time to talk to me about my mistakes but I ignored him and continued to argue with him. At the end he blocked me temporarily because to correct my mistake. After the temporary blocked expired, he unblocked me again and instead of correcting my mistake, I continued adding references from the mirror site, which is a big mistake in Wikipedia's policy, as he said, but I didn't used what he told me. I think I am doing a good thing, he sent me a link that contains information about how is mirror in Wikipedia and its rules but I didn't notice the link. Finally he blocked me from editing in English Wikipedia and I asked him to unblock me but he refused.
After some time, I met an editor of Wikipedia. I showed him what happened about my blocking in English Wikipedia because of my unpleasant actions and I broken the policy of Wikipedia, and also the argument with the admin, and he told me that what I did was wrong. I told him that, I am definitely not happy with what I did. He advised me to find a time to read the policies of Wikipedia and its rules, then he told me that I should attend meetings such as online training or physical training of Wikipedia so that it will help me a lot in knowing the policies of Wikipedia.
I attended several online training and physical events about Wikipedia because I want to know how it is and I need to know its policies and how to edit wikipedia. Of course now I understand many things about wikipedia and I will try to follow its policy. Thank you.
Decline reason:
You have made some progress here, but this is still insufficient- you have not done as requested in your last unblock request and stated "in your own words, what a reliable source is and why mirrors are not reliable sources". We need to know that you understand this before permitting you to edit here. If you are more comfortable at the Hausa Wikipedia, you may wish to confine your editing there- there is nothing special about the English Wikipedia, it is not better than others, it is just different. 331dot (talk) 09:38, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

Unblock request

Request reason:
In my first and last unblocked request you have asked me this question "In your own words what a reliable source is and why mirrors are not reliable sources." Here's what I understood about reliable sources and mirrors are in Wikipedia: A reliable source is that source whose content or information is believed to be authentic and free of misinformation or falsehoods. Examples are: textbooks, newspapers, journals and organization's official website, In addition A Reliable sources are sources such as reputable newspapers e.g punch, vanguard, The Nation, The Guardian among others Journal articles, notable organization websites, books. A Mirrors are not reliable sources because of the fact that they are machine regenerate websites which is not the primary source of the information. In other words, they're not reliable because they are secondary sources and usually contain untrue information. What I understand again is that using mirrors on Wikipedia are not reliable sources and not acceptable.
Decline reason:

Request reason:
In my last unblocked request, you asked me this question, 'In your own words, what is a reliable source and why are mirrors not reliable sources?' Here's my understanding of reliable sources and why mirrors are not considered reliable sources on Wikipedia: A reliable source is one whose content or information is believed to be authentic and free of misinformation or falsehoods. Examples of reliable sources include textbooks, newspapers, journals, and organization's official websites. Additionally, reputable newspapers such as Punch, Vanguard, The Nation, and The Guardian, journal articles, notable organization websites, and books are considered reliable sources. Mirrors are deemed unreliable sources because they are machine-regenerated contents from websites like Wikipedia itself, serving as secondary sources that are not the primary origin of information. In other words, they lack reliability due to the outdated nature of the information, often containing inaccurate information. I understand that the use of mirrors on Wikipedia is considered unreliable and unacceptable, I will never use or insert them on any Wikipedia article again.
Accept reason:
Accepted with the condition above; any further use of deceptive or fake sources like mirrors will lead to a resumption of this block. Please be very, very cautious about adding sources - carefully evaluate them against our reliable sourcing guidelines. It would be best to stop editing and respond directly to feedback and warnings when they appear on your talk page.Sam Kuru (talk) 14:53, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
