WrestleMania XXIV - Career Threatening Match
Hi Mshake3. If you have a problem with the way the career threatening match is listed, can you please discuss it on the talkpage instead of edit-warring with TJ Spyke. It does not do anyone any good edit-warring; I think a conclusion could easily come by discussing it at the talkpage. Regards, D.M.N. (talk) 18:43, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I was busy until now, here's my response to the situation. AS DMN stated: edit warring isn't helpful. However, TJ's been warned about edit/revert warring many times. I'm considering making an admin board post about him (once again), as he is on revert patrole. I'll let you know when I do, if you're interested in commenting there. Also, he promised to change his ways...which he hasn't done too much from what I've seen. My opinion on the match name nonsense is still the same: it should be one way or another. Flair's "career threatening" should be listed, since Money in the bank and many other things are tagged onto matches. If you need to contact me, email me or post on my talk. - I've created this to hopefully solve the problem once and for all: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Professional_wrestling#Match_names_and_taglines:_let.27s_settle_this_already. RobJ1981 (talk) 00:53, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
I know that we've had our differences in the past, but thanks for reverting petty vandalism on my talkpage. ;) D.M.N. (talk) 16:28, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I had the reverts the other way. I meant to remove "Career Threatening match." However, I don't really mind how it's listed, to be honest with you. –LAX 00:52, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I can see your point about the PPV article using a standard free-use image. However, for the biography page, any old image just won't work. The image needs to feature him with the championship, otherwise, there's no point to having it. And as stated in the fair-use rational, which I added BTW, the short length of the reign, plus the time since the reign (now at over 5.5 years) means the chance of finding a free-use replacement is slim to none. Mshake3 (talk) 04:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Please read WP:NONFREE and WP:NFCC, usually any non-free image used soley to illustrate a living person doesn't meet fair use:
- Pictures of people still alive, groups still active, and buildings still standing; provided that taking a new free picture as a replacement (which is almost always considered possible) would serve the same encyclopedic purpose as the non-free image.
- An image of Shawn Michaels with any championship belt would serve the same purpose in that section, and considering Shawn Michaels is still a living, active professional wrestler (with many many championship reigns other than this), a free alternative is certainly still potentially available for the article. — Κaiba 10:19, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- That would make for one crappy image caption then. "Michaels won the World Championship in 2002 (title not pictured)." That would NOT serve the same encyclopedic purpose as the fair use image. Mshake3 (talk) 14:40, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think you understand, I said an image of Shawn Michaels with any championship belt would serve the same purpose. Michaels, in WWE alone has won the WWF Championship, WWF European Championship, WWF Intercontinental Championship, WWF/E World Tag Team Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship, and has had multiple, multiple reigns. Are you telling me in the 18+ year career with WWE alone that when Michaels held a championship belt, no one has taken a picture? A free image of Michaels with any of the championships, or even a championship belt from a different wrestling territory, would serve the same encyclopedic purpose and would be more valuable than a non-free image. That section is not soley based on the World Heavyweight Championship reign, it is about every accomplishment he has ever had, and singling one out and claiming fair use because the riegn of time the picture would be available isn't accurate. Had the WHC been the only title he ever won and he was deceased or legit retired, that may be a different story however. Nonetheless, I state again, Michaels is an living and active professional wrestler, so the chances of him holding a championship are still available, and the chances of a free photograph taken with any championship belt are there, which means the image fails both WP:NFCC criterions #1 and #3a. — Κaiba 23:06, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't even realize it was in the championship section. I thought it was in the 2002-03 comeback section, where it wouldn't make sense to use any other championship image. For the championship section, you're right, any title will do. Delete on. Mshake3 (talk) 04:09, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
