Welcome!

Hello, Mrtony77, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Usuario:Mrtony77, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. roleplayer 14:54, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Roleplayer. This was very confusing and still a bit mysterious to me. I edited my user page on the Spanish wiki and then edited my page on this wiki. Somehow an intermediate page was generated on the English subdomain using the Spanish naming convention. It was not an intentional experiment but I hypothesize that it was the result of using multiple browser tabs while editing between subdomains. As of the last time I checked both the English and Spanish versions of my user page are still the way I wanted them to be. mrtony77 (talk) 01:28, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I can't help you there! I have a user page at various language projects and I've never had that problem. Oh well, one for the bug collectors I suppose! -- roleplayer 01:36, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Asking for help

[edit]

I happened by chance to see your request for help on your user page, but probably not many people will see it there. A better place to ask for help is at the Help desk. Alternatively you can place a question here in your talk page, and just above it put {{helpme}}. This will alert users who look out for requests for help, and maybe one of them will come here and help you. JamesBWatson (talk) 15:08, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the help JamesBWatson. I'll put your suggestions to good use. mrtony77 (talk) 01:18, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Albán (Cundinamarca), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Camino Real. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Information icon Hello, I'm Dcirovic. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Concepción, Santander— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Dcirovic (talk) 16:28, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dcirovic. How does publishing the page translated from Spanish not seem productive? The version I replaced was marked as a stub. I updated it with more complete information translated from it's native language. Please revert to my update so I can add back in the Settlement Infobox. Mrtony77 (talk) 16:31, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits are mostly good, and they are restored now. Your removal of the infobox and categories prompted me to initially rollback your contribution. --16:59, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for clearing that up. Those removals were inadvertent due to the use of the translation function. I was surprised to see the page reverted when I went to correct the issue. Mrtony77 (talk) 17:37, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the message. I must say that I'm a bit put off by the requirement of significant coverage in this area. While I will search for additional 3rd party coverage about Dr. Angritt's career and the impact of his work, to some extent this requirement leaves the impression that someone who is a dedicated "publicity hound" is somehow more significant than someone dedicated to making meaningful impact. Afterall, at least one of the articles which Dr. Angritt co-wrote is already cited by others on Wikipedia itself. Nevertheless, I will do another diligent search for 3rd party references to him and his work and update the draft before resubmitting it. Mrtony77 (talk) 01:01, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
