Re: Dave Farrell
[edit]Please do not re-create deleted articles without a proper discussion as you did to Dave Farrell article. The article only contains two sources, only one of which would be considered 'reliable' and 'legitimate.' However that source has not been updated since 2002 and covers little information. Last.FM is a publicly edited community and is not reliable by our standards. For further information on our notability and reliable sources, please refer to WP:N and WP:RS.
Please note that previously deleted articles may be quickly deleted without contest per WP:CSD. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thanks. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 02:28, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Nate Iese is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nate Iese until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. John from Idegon (talk) 07:16, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Dakarai Allen moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Dakarai Allen, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

The article Austin Madison has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:GNG and WP:NCREATIVE
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. John from Idegon (talk) 21:49, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
I-80 and Oakland
[edit]I'm a local and I'm here to say that you are blatantly incorrect. The Oakland touchdown of the Bay Bridge and the MacArthur Maze are both firmly within Oakland city limits. It's true that I-80 doesn't quite reach downtown Oakland, but downtown Oakland is not the same as Oakland as a whole.--Jasper Deng (talk) 01:56, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Creatng disambiguation pages
[edit]Hello. Noticed your move of Jota (footballer) to create a disambiguation page at that name. I'm guessing you haven't done this before, as there's a couple of things that needed doing and haven't been. The easy one is to add descriptions to the entries on the dab page, so that the reader can distinguish the Jota they're looking for from all the others. The boring but important one is that when moving a page out of the way of a dab page, we're supposed to fix all the incoming links to the original pagename before overwriting the original pagename with the dab page. See the bold line at WP:FIXDABLINKS. At the moment, all incoming links to Jota the Spanish footballer land at the dab page, which isn't a great state of affairs for our readers.
The broken links do need fixing now: if you don't have the time, I'll do it, please let me know. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 10:18, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- I think I've fixed all the broken links. No harm done, but another time, you'd be wise to read up on the relevant instructions before doing technical stuff. Ask at the Teahouse if you need help with anything. And a bit of advice: if someone sends you a message about something you've done on here, it's a good idea not to ignore it. Most of us are only trying to help. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:00, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

Please, you again failed to remove the {{Requested move/dated}} template when you closed the RM at Talk:Guts (John Cale album)#Requested move 11 March 2019. - "Warning" in this case is more of a reminder that there can sometimes be several things that need to be done when you close a requested move debate. Those several things are listed in the RM closing instructions. Okay, here's your warning: When you do not properly and correctly close a requested move, it ends up as a "malformed request". Hatnotes
[edit]Thanks for improving pages by adding hatnotes to ambiguous titles. Regarding your addition to Larry Bird, the use of {{distinguish}} should be reserved for more obvious cases. In this case, it's not clear who Larry Byrd is without clicking on it. In this case, something like {{for}} provides more context for readers at the wrong page. Refer to the documentation at Template:Distinguish for more guidance on its usage. Again, thanks for improving pages for readers looking for an ambiguous title. [edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Kevin Johnson (disambiguation) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 04:47, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

Harry Holmes testimony fix
[edit]First off, much praise to your edits to various true crime articles. I was wondering if you could rewrite this sentence on the Lee Harvey Oswald article that has been discussed on the talk page. The article says that Oswald told Holmes he was “working on an upper floor when the shooting occurred, then went downstairs”. Looking though Harry Holmes testimony, especially on page 306, it is clear what Holmes meant where Oswald said he encountered the officer: ...as I started to go out and see what it was all about, a police officer stopped me just before I got to the front door, and started to ask me some questions... Mr. BELIN. By the way, where did this policeman stop him when he was coming down the stairs at the Book Depository on the day of the shooting? Mr. HOLMES. He said it was in the vestibule. Mr. BELIN. He said he was in the vestibule? Mr. HOLMES. Or approaching the door to the vestibule. He was just coming, apparently, and I have never been in there myself. Apparently there is two sets of doors, and he had come out to this front part. Mr. BELIN. Did he state it was on what floor? Mr. HOLMES. First floor. The front entrance to the first floor. Mr. BELIN. Did he say anything about a Coca Cola or anything like that, if you remember? Mr. HOLMES. Seems like he said he was drinking a Coca Cola, standing there by the Coca Cola machine drinking a Coca Cola. Holmes clarifies that Oswald was talking about encountering the officer at the vestibule on the first floor by the front entrance. Holmes describes two set of doors which were in the building vestibule (which were a front lobby between two set of doors). I suggest the paragraph regarding Holmes on the “Police interrogation” section should be rewritten to say “Holmes (who attended the interrogation at the invitation of Captain Will Fritz) said that Oswald said he was at the first floor vestibule by the front entrance and wanted to see what the “commotion” was when he encountered an officer.” 88.104.82.204 (talk) 08:49, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
Hello, thank you for the kind words. Most of the edits I do in the Wikipedia space is reformatting, structuring, and clarifying things I already know, and adding WP article links and other navigational aids.
I’m unfamiliar with the Holmes story, and I’m not very skilled or talented in researching from scratch.
Your request is a bit beyond what I’m capable of doing. However, I can send you the WP “edit request” form for you to send to that page. Be sure to read the instructions, and follow all the steps, so that your edit request can be assessed on its merits alone, and not tied up in procedural issues. I have shortened your edit tag re current superpower status for the U.S. Succinct WP taglines are standard and appropriate. Partial revert
[edit]Hey, I just wanted to pitch in and let you know I manually semi-reverted one of your edits in light of removing redundant bluelinks. While I agree there's way too many, I believe one you removed should stay. In particular, you mentioned nonviolence being self-explanatory. While this may seem to be the case, we should take caution not to assume too much prior knowledge of readers (see WP:POPE). The definition of nonviolence/nonviolent as 'a lack of violence' is probably common knowledge, I'd agree, but the ideology that drove the group that's being described probably not so. Hope you understand my reasoning! Amadeus22 🙋 🔔 22:36, 10 May 2022 (UTC)

Third opinion
[edit]Please review the instructions at WP:3O before re-posting your request. You must provide evidence that there has been significant discussion of the issue under dispute, and the page you've linked to does not illustrate that such discussion has occurred at this time. If this is unsatisfactory to you, I would recommend waiting to see whether the other editors do engage in discussion with you and you reach an impasse, or consider pursuing other forms of dispute resolution. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 20:40, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
Bludgeoning
[edit]You are overwhelming article talk pages by WP:BLUDGEONING the discussions. How is anyone supposed to participate when the conversation looks like this and this? Even if they could decipher the discussion despite your multiple replies to each comment, how could any other editor even get a word in when you are dominating the discussion to this ridiculous degree? When you've reached the point where you're attacking other editors, it's a sign that consensus is not in your favour or, at the very least, it's time to walk away.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:25, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Rfd nominations
[edit]Hi there, in reference to Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2022_June_4#San_Jose, make sure when you initiate a discussion at Rfd that the current target is the one listed at the top of the nomination, not what you propose it should be. Instead, you should indicate where you propose that the redirect be retargeted (or other action you propose occur, such as deletion) in your rationale/nomination statement. You also included a page in the discussion that is not currently a redirect; only redirects should be nominated for an Rfd discussion. Proposing that a page should be a redirect requires a discussion at another venue, such as a requested move discussion. Cheers, Mdewman6 (talk) 04:16, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
