Removal of maintenance tags

[edit]

Please refrain from removing the maintenance tags from articles, as you've done here, here, here and here amongst others. While I assumed good faith to being with, your repeated edits in this manner are bordering on vandalism, and may warrant further action. While I think it's great you're jumping in and editing articles and it's not my intention in the slighest to scare you away from doing that, keep in mind there are some rules and guidelines to editing Wikipedia that are needed to be followed. If there is anything at all I can help with please feel free to drop by. Cheers and Happy Editing.  Esradekan Gibb  "Talk" 01:32, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copy pastes

[edit]

While we welcome all users to contribute encyclopedic content, please do not copy-paste a list to a new title. While List of artists who reached number one on the New Zealand Singles Chart would have been an appropriate list for Wikipedia, it appears it was copied entry for entry from‎ List of artists who reached number one on the Australian singles chart. So, unless it's actually the case that every artist has ranked number one on both charts the same number of times...If you were just copying it as a template to write the accurate list, please do so in your userspace (such as User:Mmgdertt/List of artists who reached number one on the New Zealand Singles Chart), so that the false information doesn't look like a real list in the meantime. Thank you. Someguy1221 (talk) 06:19, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Environment Bay of Plenty

[edit]

I know that there's a legal battle over the proposed movement of this organisation from Whakatane to Tauranga. If the council has moved, could you please give a source. The reference previously at Bay of Plenty#Governance doesn't mention the matter, so I have removed it, but if you have a better ref that would be the most appropriate update.-gadfium 06:20, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have changed the article Regions of New Zealand again, but still not provided a source. All edits to Wikipedia should provide a reliable source, especially when challenged. If you cannot provide such a source, your edits can not be considered reliable.-gadfium 08:33, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

November 2009

[edit]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to New Zealand dream. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Marek.69 talk 04:59, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Mmgdertt! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 140 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

I have nominated List of artists who reached number one on the New Zealand Singles Chart, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of artists who reached number one on the New Zealand Singles Chart. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Daveosaurus (talk) 08:03, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Reuben Wills, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. DO NOT CUT-AND-PASTE SOURCES

[edit]

Exceptional numerical data points require reliable sourcing. You are cut-and-pasting sources for numerical data points you are adding to articles. This is counterintuitive, because how could you know the particular numerical data points you are adding without a source, yet why would you not use that source when you add it to Wikipedia? This is a friendly reinforcement of a previous post here, but be advised that if you continue to do this, you will be blocked from editing. In the meantime, you will be reverted. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Mariah Carey, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Tyson Tyler, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.reverbnation.com/page_object/page_object_bio/442082.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tyson Tyler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Verifiability, sourcing

[edit]

Thank you for your contribution to List of best-selling music artists in the United States, but unfortunately it doesn't conform with the list's source. While your edits may reflect more up-to-date figures, as the article says, "This is the list of the top 100 best-selling music artists in the United States only...based on certifications of albums by the RIAA." Figures in the article must conform to that source ([1]).

If you want to discuss this or the list, please feel free to leave a note at my talk page or at the article's talk page. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:15, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your change to Best-selling albums by year in the United States, here, does not appear constructive and has been reverted. That Lion King and Cracked Year View were the top selling albums of the year are supported by sources ([2], [3]). Please read over the verifiability policy. You should not add information that is not supported by a reliable source, and you especially should not change information that is supported by a reliable source without giving a very good reason in edit summary and, perhaps, talk page. Changes like this may misinform our readers, who may trust that the sources you left in place support your claim when they do not. If you don't know how to cite a source, see WP:CITE. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:22, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Soundtrack To Summer, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Pop and For The First Time (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on For The First Time (Titanium song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Uberaccount (talk) 03:25, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Tattoo (Titanium song), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Gap5

[edit]

I've put in a redirect to point the Gap5 page to their section on List of The X Factor finalists (New Zealand series 1)#Gap5. At this stage, Gap5 are not significant enough to warrant their own page. They basically need to have a notable, long-term career outside of The X Factor. Little Mix are an example of a former X Factor group who have done enough since leaving the show to have their own page, where as Fifth Harmony have not yet achieved enough. Take a look at the discussion at Talk:Fifth Harmony for more information. Robyn2000 (talk) 06:10, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Chris Sisarich

[edit]

The article Chris Sisarich has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-notable person.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
