In Fifth Harmony's filmography they should have an episode of AwesomenessTV on there from the BIg Brother Problems episode of season 1 they were the guest host. If you could make that change it was episode 19 season 1. December 2, 2013. 198.200.181.197 (talk) 16:18, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I need to update the group picture to a more recent one. The main picture is from literally 3 years ago and fans get tired of seeing it up here. Please let me change it to a more centric 2015/2016 year picture. It will make people come to the website more when they see a change like that. So wikipedia will get more hits. Once the file has been properly uploaded, feel free to reactivate this request to have the new image used.
Please note that the picture must not be copyright, which excludes almost all images that you find on the internet, in magazines etc.
You will also need proof that it is not copyright, just saying it is not copyright is not acceptable.
But I did find the idea that having an up to date photo of Fifth Harmony would attract people to Wikipedia quite funny. - Arjayay (talk) 15:58, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Soooo someone made Macy Kate a new member of Fifth Harmony and made Camila a past member. Whoever did this... Is out of their minds. Photos/Fifth Harmony

[edit]

After the massive success this group has endured, I am baffled to see only two pictures utilized in this article. Is there a way that more photos could be legally uploaded here? In the past I tried uploading but given that the article uses a free-use photo, any files uploaded with a fair-use tag are not allowed. I have seen articles of several artists with multiple quality photos such as 1, 2 and 3. I hope that this can also be implemented in this article as the group enough brand and recognition currently to have a detailed article as the aforementioned musicians. De88 (talk) 03:16, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@De88:Those other artists pages are able to use multiple quality photos because those photos were released into the public domain/have the proper license. If you want to add more photos for Fifth Harmony, you have to find such photos for them. All photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons are free-use and can thus be used on Wikipedia, so you can look for photos of Fifth Harmony there (here for example). Or you can upload photos from Flickr that have the correct license (see Wikipedia:Upload/Flickr). Bennv3771 (talk) 03:28, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Bennv3771: When can a "fair-use" tag be used then? I ask since the tag is given as an option when you upload a file to Commons. De88 (talk) 08:10, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@De88: You can read the criteria for when non-free images can be used here: Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria, and the template for the fair use rational to justify the use of non-free content here: Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. If you are still talking about pictures of the band Fifth Harmony, then non-free images would not meet the non-free content criteria since there are free equivalents available. Bennv3771 (talk) 08:20, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@De88: If you cannot find any good free-use pictures of Fifth Harmony on Wikimedia commons or Flickr (with the correct free license), then alternatively, you can try contacting the copyright holder of a picture you find elsewhere (usually the person who took the picture) and getting their permission to release the picture under a free license. Professional journalists/photographers will be unlikely to agree since that's how they make their income, but normal fans could be willing if you find a good fan-taken photo.
1. Then you'll either have to ask them to upload the photo on Flickr under the appropriate free license (see Commons:Flickr files on which license to choose), after which you can upload it to Wikipedia/Wikimedia commons yourself here: Wikipedia:Upload/Flickr.
2. OR alternatively, you can upload it directly to Wikimedia commons, stating that you have the permission of the copyright holder, but you'll need to email them a permission statement as proof (read Commons:OTRS and Commons:Email templates).
I would recommend the first route since there is always a backlog with the OTRS-queue. Current backlog is 53 days, meaning it may take up to 53 days before your email is actually processed and your uploaded picture is verified. Whereas with Flickr, there is no need to email them proof and thus no queue. Bennv3771 (talk) 09:13, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fifth Harmony willing to play in Dictatorships

[edit]

For the record, Fifth Harmony has chosen to play in Thailand which is a dictatorship. This act shows apathy to those who have lost their political and human rights in Thailand. The singers have chosen profit over morality. They are not alone in doing this but they have joined the world's bands who play for profit in dictatorships where people are jailed for free speech crimes.

Active or Past members

[edit]

@Angryjoe1111:, This is a great topic for discussion. I think the condition of Fifth Harmony is very similar to One Direction. Just like in 1D article, they are still in current member list though there are inactive since 2016. There were lots of edit and revert in same article for current members or past. But at last after some discussion they were put in current member list. Do you have any source that they are disbanded? Brown Chocolate (talk) 10:47, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Brown Chocolate:, Thanks for following up with this conversation. With One Direction's case, their lede prose and this section both give differing views about the band's future. Although the members of the band are open to reunite, it has been said by several reputable sources such as BBC and Yahoo! News that their tour management had closed down. In that case, I'm not sure whether users have forgotten to update the infobox or are still hoping that they would reunite, considering members such as Harry Styles are teasing album releases. Maybe you should move them to "Past members" as well and create a similar discussion on their talk page. In regards to the situation with Fifth Harmony, sources such as E! News[1] and Billboard[2] have stated that their hiatus is indefinite. Although this suggests that there is a chance for them to appear in one-off reunions, I feel that a full return is currently highly unlikely. According to an interview with Rolling Stone, Camila Cabello felt that their management forced the group to keep churning out songs they didn't like within two weeks to be put on their album, which was a factor in her departure.[3] I assume the other members feel the same, especially Normani, who has two top-ten songs in the Billboard Hot 100, and just released a new single. In this case, we should just leave all five members in the "Past members" list until they permanently reunite, such as how NSYNC's surprise appearances during Ariana Grande's 2019 Coachella performance and Justin Timberlake's 2013 VMAs performance didn't count as a return for the group. Anyway, thank you for bringing up the discussion in the talk page without inciting an edit war. I hope to see more users have the same respect for others that you have on here — Angryjoe1111 (talk) 12:38, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
