If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. New Articles

[edit]

Hello, I see you creating a few new articles about 2014 cars, that consist only of a picture of the car. I appreciate your desire to contribute to Wikipedia, but so far it looks like there are already existing articles on those cars, so you don't need to create a new one just to add a picture.

Now, *more importantly*, the pictures you have uploaded so far seem to have been pulled from other websites. That makes them copyright violations by using them here. As the logo says, Wikipedia is "The Free Encyclopedia", which means that anyone is free to use anything herein for any purpose. Because of this, we have to make sure that all content uploaded is actually free: We can't say "anyone is free to use this picture" if we don't own the rights to the picture to begin with. I hope you can appreciate this, but feel free to ask if you have any questions about using copyrighted materials. Electric Wombat (talk) 16:43, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Renault Megane 275 Trophy.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. stop deleting my work

[edit]

please

  • Hello again! Did you see that we already have an article on this car: BMW M4. So first of all, you don't need to create a new article, as there already is one. Secondly, if you look at that article I linked, you'll see that there are already very nice pictures of the car, and they are properly licensed free files. In these 2 circumstances, adding a non-free file to the article, when there are clearly free versions available, is just not allowed under Wikipedia's copyright policy. The same is true for the Renault, at Mégane_Renault_Sport#Renault Sport Mégane Trophy. We appreciate your desire to contribute, but you need to make sure you follow the basic rules linked at the very top of this page in that big blue box. Ariel Atom

[edit]

Please read what I'm trying to tell you above. You just did it again with the Ariel car. We have an article on that vehicle already: Ariel Atom, and the picture you linked to is copyrighted. You just can't keep doing this.

Try this before creating a new article. In the Search box at the top right, type in the first bit of the car you're thinking of creating: "Ariel Atom", even without the specific model number, would show that there already is an article. Generally with cars, we don't have a separate article for each model or year, but one article with sub-sections for each model and year. So if you want to add information like that, first, search to see if we have an article, then make edits on that page in the right section. But please don't add copyrighted photos, as we cannot keep them for legal reasons. Thanks! Electric Wombat (talk) 17:12, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Ariel atom 3.5r

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Ariel atom 3.5r. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Ariel Atom. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Ariel Atom – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Bahooka (talk) 17:16, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

their is nothing on the R version of the ariel atom

[edit]

there is nothing the same between mine and his page and did you do this to a guy who does bmw m5? no.

I recommend adding the information to the existing Ariel Atom article for now. If the content grows to a size that warrants a separate article, it can be split off then. If it is just a paragraph or two, keep it in the main article. I really recommend reviewing all the information you have already been given to better understand how Wikipedia works. Best of luck, Bahooka (talk) 17:48, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, what Bahooka said. If you look at the M5 article, you'll see it is huge, which warrants its own article. Now, the Atom page very briefly mentions the R version, and gives no details, so the first place you would add info is to the existing article. If at some point, someone then says "Jeez, the section on the R is huge, it really should be its own article", then we do just that. It's called forking the article. Also notice on the M5 page, that all the pictures are sourced and licensed. You'll see that many say "Source: own work" meaning they themselves took the picture, rather than using one from the Internet. I hope all this helps, you've got good enthusiasm and I'd hate to see it squelched by too much policy talk, but somethings we can't overlook for legal reasons. Speedy deletion nomination of Hsfuhf

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Hsfuhf, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a test page. (See section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do, and take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

A tag has been placed on S\hvgjsd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". STOP

[edit]

Stop Stop Stop You are not getting what several on this page have been trying to tell you. Now, I see that you are claiming to be the copyright holder for your latest images, even ones that clearly have a watermark on them. I'll tell you this now and give you the chance to be honest: if you are claiming to be the lawful copyright owner, and it is proven otherwise, you will be blocked from the wiki, meaning you will no longer be allowed to edit here. It was not hard to find the copyright for the images you put up earlier, that's why they were able to be deleted. It will not be hard to find the same for these that you are claiming you own. give me space

[edit]

tell me how to fix it for gods sake, I just joined

  • I understand you are new, and are trying to be a good editor, and I'm trying to help. Do these 2 things for the next month until you get the hang of how it works around here:
  • 1: Don't create any new articles. So far today, all of the ones have been duplicates of existing articles. Use the search box for articles that you like, and when it returns the results, make edits to sections in there. The Atom 3.5R, for example. As you said, there's no real info on the R in there, so edit a section for that, giving the same kind of information that's in the other sections of the article. I'll even create the sub-section so it will be in the right place.
  • 2: Don't add or upload any pictures, unless you yourself 100% no BS, took the picture yourself. Copyright law is a very complicated thing that many people here, even long term editors, don't fully understand. Because of this, its best to start out with only pictures from your camera or phone.
I see that you've got much enthusiasm for performance cars, and would love for you to improve the article here. Just do those 2 things above and you shouldn't run into any problems around policy.
Sorry for the abruptness of the above section with the Stop Signs. It was meant to get your attention, is all. Electric Wombat (talk) 19:45, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
