The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

Hello Milongupta,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Milon Gupta, may be copied from http://harmonicaclubofgujarat.blogspot.com/2008/11/tribute-to-milon-gupta-indian-mouth.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 10:49, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Milon Gupta requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. ...William 10:55, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for undeletion

[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that a response has been made at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion regarding a submission you made. The thread is Milon Gupta. JohnCD (talk) 13:17, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It seems likely that Milon Gupta is notable enough to have a Wikipedia article, but you need to write it in your own words. There is good advice at WP:Your first article. Two important points are:
  • Don't write in a promotional tone - see WP:PEACOCK. An article should not contain the writer's opinions, only facts - see Wikipedia:Verifiability: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." You are not trying to "sell" Mr Gupta: don't say that he was wonderful (even if he was), say what he achieved. You can quote what other people said about him, with references.
  • You need references to "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" to show WP:Notability.
