Hi George. Genealogical website are not reliable sources of information. Neither are random websites and blogs. Please stop adding information derived from these kind of sources. The only reliable sources for Pictish and Gaelic kings of Scotland are books, articles, and etc., written by credible historians (see Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (history)). Also note that you can't use multiple accounts on Wikipedia at the same time (see Wikipedia:Sock puppetry).--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 00:09, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Again, personal websites and blogs are unreliable for both text and pictures. Just because they use a particular image to illustrate a king doesn't necessarily mean that the image has anything to do with him. For example File:Alpin MacEchdach - Book of Kells (9th century).jpg is not a depiction of "Alpin MacEchdach". It's actually an image that adorns the genealgoy of Jesus Christ. It has nothing to do with the Scottish kingship. Same goes for File:Kenneth MacAlpin in Battle.jpg, which is actually a well-known depiction of the mythical Celtic hero Cú Chulainn. So please don't use websites like these as sources for anything on Wikipedia.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 23:13, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And then there's this File:Eochaid IV or Echdach.jpg, which you seem to have taken from a personal website on Wiccan "Goddess Worshipers",[1] and renamed it to pose as a Pictish king. You've got to stop that. You can't claim to be the author of random pictures you've found on the net, and you can't rename these random images to pose as historical figures. Incredibly you stated that the author of the above Cú Chulainn image was "Hevended Kenre", a name that turns up no Google hits, and stated that the image was "painted c. 19th century or c. 18th century", when in fact that artist's signature appears on the image itself (J. C. Leyendecker). So basically, you've made yourself appear completely untrustworthy, and now we've got to clean up this mess before it misleads any readers.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 23:54, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apology for Previous Edits

[edit]

I want to apologize for using genealogical websites on a few of my wikipedia pages, I want it to be known my previous wikipedia account was hacked, resulting in the creation of this account. Thanks. - millergeorge253.

Addressing the fact I am a suspected sock puppet

[edit]

On my wikipedia user page I am being told I am a suspected sock puppet of my previous account Georgemiller381. This account was hacked, I was locked out and had no choice but to make this wikipedia account. I will still use the images from my previous wikipedia account and still edit my pages which I created on my previous wikipedia account, I need to use this account. Thanks. I want to state that I posted the pictures of Alpin and Echdach before you warned me the first time. So I am not still doing it. I would appreciate if you would look at upload dates when you are criticizing media. Millergeorge253 (talk) 17:23, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! while I appreciate your input into the Kenneth McAlpin page, I do feel the new image is somewhat effeminate and the old image showed better his Norwegian traits. The image reflects badly on those who enjoy a national pride in Scotland, and as no one knows what he actually looked like, painting him as foppish, is either offensive or hurtful to how we see ourselves. I would enjoy a tougher more Scandinavian look, unless the effeminacy was your intention. Are there any better painting of him that you could switch out instead?
