He Midday, has it finally happened, the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by Somalia? The standard depositary website which is automotive in this matter did not have it yet. Do we have another UN source (picture of the deposit of the instrument with a press release or the like?) L.tak (talk) 18:10, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi L.tak. Yeah, the Convention was finally ratified; the information ministry just announced it [1]. The UN often takes a while to update its treaty pages, so it's still at 194 nations. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 18:14, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- But that page says parliament ratified... Do we have a source about deposit of the instrument? That is the automotive moment we take in conventions usually... L.tak (talk) 18:17, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, parliament ratified it on behalf of Somalia. I believe the UK legislature did the same [2]. The party enumeration will probably read 195 soon. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 18:29, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- UK parliament and treaties is a mess. They approve the implementing legislation, but are note -formally- required to approve the ratification per se... But that is besides the point that ratification is a multi-step procedure that is culminated with the deposit of the instrument of ratification with the depositary. That seems not to have done; although the legislative process that allows it to be done seems to be finished. So the waiting is for the ambassador to deliver things to the UN (and have his photo-op... ;-)). Could be 1 day... could be a year... L.tak (talk) 19:56, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- Well, seeing as how the treaty was already ratified, it's probably only a few weeks. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 19:59, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- Let's hope so! I waited for 6 months for the Netherlands and the Maritime Labour Convention between approval and deposit.... L.tak (talk) 20:18, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

Bab-el-Mandeb RM
I moved your RM for Mandeb Strait to the uncontroversial section of the RM page. Undiscussed moves like that should not require a lengthy discussion. If it is not acted on there, I will restore it to the article talk page. — AjaxSmack 19:29, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 19:32, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
Rageh Omaar
Is Rageh Omaar a separatist? Please this: here. If so, then it saddening to see it as such. His brother, Mohamed Abdullahi Omaar, doesn't seem to be so as he is one of the former Foreign Minister of Somalia.AcidSnow (talk) 21:09, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
- He's politically pragmatic, like his brother. Best regards, Middayexpress (talk) 18:06, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Identity
Are you Somali? Why do you write that all Somali live in London? - 85.255.234.249:I doubt he will answer that. AcidSnow (talk) 00:16, 7 February 2015 (UTC)::Nor should he. The background of editors is irrelevant unless there is some sort of conflict of interest. Cordless Larry (talk) 00:18, 7 February 2015 (UTC):::Agreed. I believe he has already stated this anyways. AcidSnow (talk) 00:21, 7 February 2015 (UTC)::::No offense intended no doubt and none taken. Conflict of interest is also usually profession-based. When it is personal, it more usually overlaps with WP:ATTACK, and is quite obvious. Middayexpress (talk) 00:34, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
