Firepower Records

How is Beatport not a reliable source for a discography? It has every release on it and every number catalog associated with it, unlike some of the releases on discogs. Plus discogs is 3 months late concerning the releases when beatport has them instantly and even before they get released. I really don't get why you keep changing it as it's objectively better at showing the up to date sources. Do you even compare the two websites or do you just stand with discogs because that's what you're used to? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarcastic Bear (talkcontribs) 12:21, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

About Vaporwave being labeled as a "microgenre"

What sources are you using? It's technically subjective. There's so many sub genres. It's been recolonized as a musical style. Look at the google trends page: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&geo=US&q=%2Fm%2F0_qltqd If anything dubstep is way more of a microgenre. As it was very faded. It became popular way quicker and died quicker: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&geo=US&q=%2Fm%2F07s72n

Plese define a "microgenre". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.92.76.35 (talk) 18:12, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

A microgenre is basically a genre that won't last very long and is pretty much a trend. Dubstep has been around since the early 2000s and is still going. For a source that says that vaporwave is a microgenre, see.[1] Micro (Talk) 21:57, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

Please note

Hi, thanks for your contributions. Please note this "script" edit of one of your created articles. There are a number of issues, including overlinking of common terms and (here, US) consistency of date formats. My very best to you. Tony (talk) 10:51, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Haywyre Rewrite

Hi there, I have overhauled the article on Haywyre and I'd like to let you check it out (as you are an active editor on the article). You can find more information on the relevant talk page entry here. B4shful (talk) 19:57, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

My apologies, I only just realised that in my previous correspondence I left out the entire purpose of the message. It's just to let associated editors know what I'm doing and in case they want to raise any issues/feedback with their work possibly being overwritten in the future. If you don't wish to be involved, that's okay. My original message came off as obnoxious, this was unintended. B4shful (talk) 23:20, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Hey, since I know you have some experience editing EDM articles, do you have anything you want to add to this draft? I currently have a deletion review open for the subject and am trying to prove that the article at least meets Criteria 2 of WP:MUSICBIO. Would you also happen to know of any additional criteria that this subject could possibly meet? Jalen D. Folf (talk) 04:56, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

User:JalenFolf The article absolutely meets Criteria 2 of WP:MUSICBIO, but it is a mess of an article. The two biggest issues are to do with the formatting for the entire article and more importantly, a lot of the references seem... questionable. some are either not in English, or are sites I haven't heard of, so I don't know if they are usable or not. I can try to help with the formatting and see if I can replace existing references with better ones. I did a thing in my sandbox a while ago where I list a bunch of sites that prove why they are reliable and usable, basically showing their staff and editorial oversight. Might be useful to you. Why are my vaporwave album articles being proposed for deletion?

User:Espngeek Those three articles have like 2 or 3 reliable sources and like 10 unreliable, so they fail WP:NMUSIC. You can't just add seemingly random sources and hope it fixes it all. Some of the sources you've added weren't reliable and were just blogs with no/little editorial oversight. Plus Deep Fantasy's aritst, Surfing, isn't reliable to begin with. If you believe they are all good, go to their respective deletion proposals and write why there. Micro (Talk) 03:19, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the work you did on dubstep a while back. [1] It reads like a complete story now and I might finally get around to nominating it for FA. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 09:20, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

Hibana

Hi, I just seen you created Caveira article because I'm also a fan of rainbow six sieges (which obviously many plays this game) which was well written, when I searched Hibana, I've seen loads of sources including her reception of her about toy [2], has sources on biography [3], fans redraw new look [4], best operator [5], comics, new skin [6] and others, I think she is notable and has a lot more sources than caveira. 124.51.131.125 (talk)

Thanks for sending me this message. Although I plan to create as many operator pages as possible, I do have to make sure every operator I do so for has enough reliable sources and usable information. I did a quick google search for Hibana and compared it to Cav, and it seems that Hibana is mentioned in more news articles, so that's good. It pretty much just comes down to when, or even if, I get to making a page for her. I am not the only person with the ability to create R6 operator articles though, so if you wanted, you could be the change you want to see. Though I might just contradict myself and make the page in like 2 days. Micro (Talk) 00:52, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

DYK for Caveira (Rainbow Six Siege)

On 7 September 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Caveira (Rainbow Six Siege), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, the player character Caveira's "Silent Step" ability featured a game-breaking bug? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Caveira (Rainbow Six Siege). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Caveira (Rainbow Six Siege)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Caveira (Rainbow Six Siege)

  • Hi! Apologies for missing your post. At first skim, my suggestion would be to merge this article based on its sourcing and the character's relative noteworthiness in context of its parent article. Happy to say more, if useful, but a peer review from me would be along those lines. (not watching, please {{ping}} if needed) czar 19:28, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Future Monstercat GA nomination

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I'm almost ready to submit the Monstercat article for a Good Article review. Is there any feedback you have on it now or anything you'd like to add or edit before a member of GOCE takes over? Keep in mind there's still one source in the refideas box on the Talk page that could possibly be used, and as far as I know, it lists some info about Darlington. Jalen Folf (talk) 19:06, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

@JalenFolf: The article has a lot of work to be done, mostly formatting. There are plenty of single sentence paragraphs that seem like they could be re-organised or put togethor with some other paragprahs/sections. For example, there are a few sentences that say that Monstercat won something, awarded, or named as something notable. These could probably be put together in an " Accolades and awards"-type section where they can all fit together nicely. Another big example is the whole "In August 2014, Monstercat published a manifesto calling for reform of copyright law. In it, they described their desire to allow musicians more freedom in sampling other musicians' recordings." That seems pretty big and seems like it could be greatly expanded on, detailing what exectly they listed, reactions, whatever happened to it, etc. There are also other bits and pieces that would need re-working, like the whole "notable artists" bit going on, where it seems like some bias as to who goes on that list. There's also the issue of potential unreliable sources, general formatting/re-wording, removal/inclusion of bits, expansion of most subjects, etc. I pretty much just recommend putting as much stuff into the article, reliably sourced of course, and remove anything that seems to be unimportant or biased. I can't really work on it myself as I'm busy re-writing most of my Saving Light article.

Your GA nomination of Nova (RL Grime album)

The article Nova (RL Grime album) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Nova (RL Grime album) for issues which need to be addressed.
