However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

HALIENE page

Hi MicroPowerpoint, I notice you work on a lot of the Monstercat artist and electronic music pages. I've written a HALIENE draft which has been rejected for various reasons, but I've spent a lot of time compiling information for. I am wondering if that's something you want to help with, seems to be in line with many of your articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Walru5hunterofficial (talkcontribs) 06:05, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

Adding large images

Hello, I have noticed you are adding images to infoboxes of musicians. This is good, but may I request that you please do not set the images to over 300px. 500px, what you set most of them to, is rediculously large and disproportionate on desktop devices. Please add a "landscape = yes" tag instead, or if not, set the img_size tag at most to 300px, thank you. Sorry for the bother. Lazz_R 23:45, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Also you may be interested (if you don't know about it or have it already) in checking out CropTool on the WikiMedia commons, it allows you to easily crop an image on there to suit an infobox. It can be activated in your commons Preferences, under Gadgets. The CropTool will then appears in the left side of your screen and you can use it. Hope it helps, have a nice day Lazz_R 00:05, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

Non-free image use

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically Talk:Vaporwave, may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:34, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi MicroPowerpoint. Please be advised that non-free content is only allowed to be used in the article namespace per non-free content use criterion #9. This means non-free content cannot be used (i.e., displayed) on article talk pages (see also WP:TPG#Non-free images) like you did at Talk:Vaporwave#Vaporwave aestheic example. If you would like to discuss the use of such image in relation to the article, then you can provide links to them using the colon trick. If you need to show a particular layout of images as part of the discussion, you can use similar freely licensed or public domain images found on Wikimedia Commons (maybe there's something in c:Category:Image placeholders) you can use just for general demonstration purposes.
Finally, just a general comment about what you seem to want to do with those images. I personally do see such a use would be justified per WP:NFC#cite_note-3, WP:NFG and WP:NFCC#3a. Basically, you'd be creating a gallery of non-free content when it seems that only one image would really be need per WP:NFC#Meeting the contextual significance criterion. Non-free album covers are generally considered OK to use for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about the albums they represent. Non-free use in other articles is much harder to justify. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:48, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

Request for help

As a fellow Monstercat fan, I've made and edited the Au5 page but it has been rejected by various reasons - I have tried to clean up by adding adequate sources. I have made this Draft:Au5 based off the page before it was deleted and it would be a welcome if you could review it and suggest a few tips for improvement so Wikipedia will accept it. - User:LivinAWestLife

DYK for Saving Light

On 28 July 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Saving Light, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the song "Saving Light" was released as part of "Make Trance #1 Again", an initiative that encouraged fans to purchase the song on Beatport to support an anti-bullying charity? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Saving Light. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Saving Light), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Nova

Mate are you free soon to start on the Nova page? I can start a draft anytimeee, and I thought that you could work on the background (since you write them pretty well) and track listing section, while I work on the lead and critical reception section! aNode (discuss) 05:01, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

@ANode: I've created a useable little template/start over in my sandbox. You can move it to a draft space, or work on it in my sandbox, whatever. What's next to improve the WiP is pretty much just gathering as many cool and good references as possible, getting the actual album length, etc. Micro (Talk) 06:26, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
Brilliant! I'll move it over to draft space soon, will ping you there. aNode (discuss) 06:29, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

Source review for Saving Light FAC

Hi -- I don't know if you've been following the conversations at WT:FAC, but one of the suggestions made there is to separate source reviews from FAC. I've proposed here a workshop to try the idea out, and I'd like to get one or two FAC nominations on popular culture topics in the workshop. Would you be willing to put "Saving Light" in? It would lead to a source review, of (I expect) FAC quality, which I hope would be beneficial to the article; and it would help us see if the separation of source reviews could work for FAC.

I don't think I can fairly ask you this favour without offering to revisit my oppose at the FAC, so I'll promise to do that, regardless of whether you agree. I'd prefer to wait till a source review's been done, though, in case that causes changes to the prose. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 17:55, 31 August 2018 (UTC)

@Mike Christie: I'm not 100% sure about what you mean by "source review", but from what I can understand, it's about reviewing the references/sources in an article to see if it's FA worthy? If so, Saving Light should be all good for a "source review", the references there are all good, reliable and usable for a FAC and the formatting for the references (source date, author, all that jazz) should all be good. If not, then please clarify so i can understand, "source" is used for so many things and has a lot of meanings on Wikipedia. Micro (Talk) 01:59, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
For the workshop, the review would be based on (1c) and (2c) of the featured article criteria: it is a thorough and representative survey of the relevant literature; claims are verifiable against high-quality reliable sources and are supported by inline citations where appropriate, and where required by criterion 1c, consistently formatted inline citations using either footnotes (<ref>Smith 2007, p. 1.</ref>) or Harvard referencing (Smith 2007, p. 1)—see citing sources for suggestions on formatting references. Citation templates are not required.
The most likely issue for a pop culture article such as "Saving Light" is that some of the sources may be questioned as not being sufficiently high quality. That's one reason why I'd like a pop culture article in the workshop, to see if it's a useful process for a non-academic topic. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 10:25, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
@Mike Christie: Yea, ok got it. I can see the issue you are attempting to resolve with the source review, most of Saving Light and most articles that I have created (such as Nova and Certain Kind of Magic) are most definitely notable enough to have an article about their respective subjects, but some editors get concerned about the legitimacy, notability and reliability with some, or even most sources/references used in the article, so you'd have to prove that every reference is good enough to be used, such as how I had to prove the reliability of the sources used in Saving Light for it to become a good article. You can use Saving Light as one of the FAC in the 'workshop', it should provide a good example. Micro (Talk) 11:29, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll put the page together later today, and will let you know when it's ready to look at. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 11:33, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Virtual Riot Chemistry EP Remixes Cover.jpeg

Thank you for uploading File:Virtual Riot Chemistry EP Remixes Cover.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
