Saving Light
[edit]... that the song "Saving Light" by Gareth Emery and Standerwick became the first trance song to enter the top of the Beatport charts in five years...?
- ALT1: ... that the song "Saving Light" by Gareth Emery and Standerwick was released as part of "Make Trance #1 Again", an initiative that encouraged fans to purchase the song on Beatport to support the anti-bullying charity Ditch the Label?
- ALT2: ... that the title of the song "Saving Light" by Gareth Emery and Standerwick refers to someone supporting a victim of bullying and abuse by being their "saving light"?

- Article was nominated on the day it was promoted to GA status. Earwigs gives a score of 62.1%, but this is because of a quotation that's adequately cited in the article. This is the nominator's first nomination so a QPQ is not required. The image in the article is allowed under fair use, and the article is stable. The proposed hook is approved (it's interesting, hooky, and properly cited), but I would also suggest to the nominator that they consider proposing other hooks that may appeal to those unfamiliar with trance music: one could be about that the proceeds of its digital sales would go to an anti-bullying charity, or that the song's title itself referrs to that anti-bullying campaign. - The hook was pulled from the main page shortly after going live per this discussion at WP:ERRORS. None of the hooks were considered hooky by the administrators. A new hook will have to be found. I am returning this to the noms page since it only spent 46 minutes on the main page. Yoninah (talk) 12:45, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: On the contrary, the discussion on WP:ERRORS actually suggested that ALT1 and ALT2 were very interesting; if anything, the issue was with the sourcing in the article. But considering trance music isn't exactly mainstream, I suppose we could give the benefit of the doubt when it comes to sources here. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:13, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
- From what I can see, ALT1 or ALT2 could be used for the DYK. The main issue with the ”first trance song in 5 years” thing was that the statement was in the lead of the article, though it didn't appear anywhere else, not even within the sources. This problem is not present in either of the ALTs because they both appear within the body of the article and are actually sourced. It is pretty much now a matter of what ALT should be used and if it could be improved upon. Micro (Talk) 23:45, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

- Let's not let this wait any longer: ALT1 (albeit a revised version that I'll add below) and ALT2 are approved as interesting to a broad audience, and being adequately cited in the article. Either can be promoted. Since ALT1 is over 200 characters long, it probably can be simplified into something like:
- ALT1a ... that the song "Saving Light" was released as part of "Make Trance #1 Again", an initiative that encouraged fans to purchase the song on Beatport to support an anti-bullying charity?
