Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Spin This, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Danny Wilde. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Sepultura into List of Sepultura members. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 13:56, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting articles

[edit]

Hey Mewhen123, saw that you've recently been splitting #Members sections of articles into new articles. I'm just going to comment on List of Steeleye Span members here, but it also applies to the one on Sepultura. I won't lie, I agree with splitting it off into its new article, but you need to have a look at Wikipedia:Splitting since you didn't give any notice that you were planning to do this, or discuss it with anyone at all.

Also, I think you should write up a short summary of the new article in the Members section, to at least give a brief overview of the past and current members, just the list of current members isn't enough for a fairly popular article.

Ways to improve List of Roger Waters band members

[edit]

Hello, Mewhen123,

Thank you for creating List of Roger Waters band members.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Thanks for creating the list on Roger Waters' band members. One thing: there is way too much text in here. A list should be just the list itself with a brief explanation at the top. The list itself looks very nice, by the way. So, definitely keep the heading a the top. But, remove the entire History section. However, before removing the History section make sure that all of this information (and references/citations) is in the main Roger Waters article. If it is not, then you could temporarily transport the body of History text into your sandbox, then carefully add the statements (and refs/citations) into the Roger Waters article.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Garagepunk66}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Garagepunk66 (talk) 00:13, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Garagepunk66:, I disagree with the thought that the history section needs to be removed. I based this page off articles like List of King Crimson members, or List of Squeeze band members and other pages in this style, all of which have history sections. I would agree that some irrelevant information that I have added could be omitted to decrease the section length but not that it should be removed altogether.
Thank you for being patient and for your work improving this amazing resource. Mewhen123 (talk) 08:45, 10 June 2023 (UTC).[reply]

Request?

[edit]

Hey. Good job on the Roger Waters band member page, it looks very well constructed and very well organized. I have a request to help with some stuff on this band member page. I did most of the page refresh. Like maybe crop the pics and maybe add a timeline lineup and maybe a good history with references. Anyways thanks and good job on the page bud! Hi,

I've just had to fix your edit to Jan Hammer, because the image you added took up several times the height of my display.

I'm assuming that wasn't intentional, so please remember to check the preview before saving your edits, so that you can catch such mistakes yourself before the edit goes live. You can see how in the message you were given just above in § July 2023.

Even in cases where you don't, please at least look at the page afterwards.

Bit of an escalation, don't you think. All I did was make the formatting consistent with every other band article I've edited.

Maybe add a note telling people not to do that, instead of leaving them a threatening message, which, if I'm not mistaken, is against wp:Assume good faith.

Also I believe that editing to serve only your point of view is mentioned in wp:Edit warring as well. Unless you are editing to a guideline that I have missed, if so I'd like to know which one.

If you thought that I'm the person who did a similar edit to mine before then you are mistaken. Check. Mewhen123 (talk) 20:38, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mewhen123, nice work on your new article. I would suggest adding it to appropriate Wikiprojects. It has been tagged as relying too heavily on primary sources, and this is a concern - additional WP:RS secondary sources would be better. Good job!

Edits on List of Smosh cast members

[edit]

Hi Mewhen123,

I have undone your edits on the page named. The information as stored on the page explicitly refers to the fact that Kimmy is not in the cast anymore, but is crew. As a result she is by definition a former member of the cast. If you can provide new information to show that she is once again a member of the cast then the changes can be re-inserted.

How to requesting deletion of your page creations

List of Nine Inch Nails band members:

[edit]

I didn't want to revert right away, but I don't think adding those 3 guys to the timeline is a good idea. None of 'em played a live show with the band (not as a guest) and we don't know the extent/timeline of their rehearsals and timespan in the band. Martin, Dave, and Keith are 3 additional members who are in the same boat and aren't in the timeline/lineup sections.

Personally I think the timeline is already cluttered as is. I'd like to par it down to the members' main roles in the future but that's a different issue altogether. Xanarki (talk) 16:24, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_the_Smashing_Pumpkins_band_members&diff=1222270482&oldid=1222061137 Per MOS:DTAB, you should use !scope="row" for table semantics. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:40, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not how it's done on other pages, the policy is too vague to apply here. Mewhen123 (talk) 23:43, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That’s how it’s supposed to be done on all pages and it is not vague. Please undo your edit: the MOS and accessibility are not optional. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 00:26, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please undo your edit. The MOS is clear about this. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 19:17, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So as my last time probing here, you're confirming that you know what the MOS says to do and that it is a guideline that you are refusing to abide by, correct? And your reasoning is that you think that this semantic definition that helps the blind is ugly? I just want to make sure I'm not misrepresenting you. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 10:22, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know what the mos says, I don't interpret it as fully applying here. Thinking about the situation now, I am happy to let it stay in this page, but I probably wouldn't have changed it if you had explained why you had added the policy to one of your edit summarise. Mewhen123 (talk) 10:30, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks kindly and thanks for your feedback: the better I can leave edit summaries for others, the easier it will make their lives, too. Be well. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 10:33, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
