S. K. Dunstall page
Hi Meatsgains, thanks for your comment on my newly created page for S. K. Dunstall. I've added a couple of references to the page now, but they're both from the authors' own website. Is this enough to remove the tag from the page?. Thanks. Raj (talk) 19:27, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- I've removed the tag but replaced it with one requesting additional sources. The ones you provided are self-published - the page needs independent third party sources to establish notability and verify the content. Meatsgains(talk) 19:29, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks again. I've found another reference for the name and have replaced the one from the official site. Raj (talk) 19:36, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- The reference you provided is a blog, which isn't a reliable source. Meatsgains(talk) 19:39, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- I've now added a link to the author's publisher (Penguin Random House) Raj (talk) 19:45, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- I suggest you read through WP:RS to see what qualifies as a reliable source. If you're having trouble finding them, the subject may not be notable. Meatsgains(talk) 21:10, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

lumberob speedy delete
He's already linked to on other wikipedia pages (where I found that there is no content), is currently performing, and is featured in some of the more interesting music and theater pieces in the 1990's and 2000's in NYC, and Austin TX. I appreciate you trying to keep people from stuffing wikipedia with BS content, but all I was trying to do was add some meat to the page link that was already there. No real personal agenda, other than a big hole in wikipedia, and I happen to like the guy. Why don't you follow the refs or lat other people decide for themselves? [1] [2]
- The subject isn't notable and lacks significant coverage in reliable sources. The Austin Chronicle source you provided is only local coverage and Discogs is just a list of their songs. I suggest you read through WP:NMUSIC to see what qualifies as meeting general notability requirements. Meatsgains(talk) 01:29, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

- @Videohead: I didn't delete the page. I welcome you to continue editing and creating pages but what we don't need is more editors like yourself creating pages for non-notable musicians. Again, four tildes, not two to sign your posts... Meatsgains(talk) 01:38, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
BracketMaster NVDLA Deletion
NVDLA is a new DNN accelerator by NVIDIA. This is a direct effort to compete with Tensor processing unit by Google. Many companies like Microsoft and Apple are currently releasing the own DNN accelerators. I'm surprised that Wikipedia has very little information on the current state of DNN, and since I frequently work with DNNs as a student researcher, I decided that I could help contribute. NVDLA should probably have its own page because it is a mature technology entirely of its own which is rapidly gaining attention. If it should not have its own page, then I would argue that Tensor processing unit shouldn't either. Buck Swamp speedy deletion
What is the qualifications for encyclopedic content? This article discusses a local community in a county, like hundreds of other articles on wikipedia. I am actively working on this article, but I have referenced independent, reputable websites for the information, and the information is correct. Please explain your reasoning for the speedy deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tman4unc (talk • contribs) 00:45, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- The reason I initially tagged the page for speedy deletion is because it was completely blank. I didn't realize you had intentionally blanked the page to create a new one under a new page name. Meatsgains(talk) 00:49, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Ravshan Irmatov: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 02:41, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

LinkedIn as Source for employment
Hi, noticed a revert on Bill Quirk's bio page due to sourcing from LinkedIn -- was under the impression that due to meeting all 5 of the criteria on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability#Self-published_and_questionable_sources_as_sources_on_themselves , it was ok as a source. If not, would a listing on an accreditation organization's website be an acceptable source? i.e. https://www.ibpsa.us/directory
Thanks for your time! --Braille teeth (talk) 01:21, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
- The issue isn't necessarily Linkedin as a source but the fact that Quirk's son working for PG&E isn't notable. Meatsgains(talk) 01:23, 13 July 2018 (UTC)\
- But in regards to using Linkedin as a reference, the webpage contains user submitted content so it could be anyone. Meatsgains(talk) 01:26, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
It... seems pretty notable to me, given the context! But understand people of good faith may differ on that. I'll wait till it's cited in a news article. (Out of curiosity, would it be more notable in the family section? Also, regarding the alternate source I provided, is that more acceptable as it's curated by a professional association?) Thanks again, have a great evening.--Braille teeth (talk) 01:49, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
- I would be surprised if that would be published in a news article but yes, if you are able to provide a directory confirming that would work. Thanks, you too! Meatsgains(talk) 01:52, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
ECE and Primary Ed in the USA
I have been a teacher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) for 50 years, including as an ECE college professor for over two decades, and I'm tired of my students getting the wrong info about ECE from Wikipedia. (A lot of us won't let them cite you, since they are required to refer to scholarly sources that are college level, but we know that many read your articles anyways).
For decades, ECE in this country has included birth through 8 year olds, which is the age that kids enter 3rd grade. The document that I referred to from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is THE major specialized professional association (SPA) for ECE teachers in this country, indeed identified ECE as covering birth through 3rd grade --which is considered to be the last year of Primary Education, though it can vary by state. The Wikipedia article previously provided no citations for the claim that Primary Ed only includes 1st and 2nd grades. Please cite the source, because actually, Kindergarten is considered by many in this country to be part of Primary Ed, too, with Preschool being Pre-primary, and most K-3 teachers consider themselves to be Early Childhood Educators. See: "K-3 Teachers Are Early Childhood Educators" https://www.naeyc.org/sites/default/files/wysiwyg/user-74/2018_k-3_study_press_release.pdf — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cosmictinker (talk • contribs) 02:40, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
Ishmael Sadiq Montague (ISM) page marked for deletion
Hi Meatsgains, I've noticed that you marked my page for deletion. Why is that? I've provided links and additional references to state where I sourced my information from. ISM is a credible producer who is signed to the major music publishing company, APG. How can we resolve this issue? I've worked hard on the page and would be saddened to see it deleted from the encyclopedia. Once again, ISM is a music producer who has produced for some of the most credible artists in the music industry including Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Jason Derulo, etc.

Hi there - Thanks for translating Wayne's page into English. I corrected some grammar that didn't translate properly into English and added a link to the CD that he wrote, produced, and arranged that was released after his death in 2007. Could you please leave the link to his album on SoundCloud on both the Italian and English Wiki pages? I noticed it was deleted from the Italian page and not included on the English Wiki page. The link goes back to his wife's SoundCloud account and she would like people to be able to listen to the tracks on there. Glad you guys enjoy Wayne's stuff. Thank you for creating these pages!--NYC Fordo
- @NYC Fordo: Soundcloud cannot be used as a reliable source to establish notability. Also, I'm assuming good faith but you would also happen to be CoolJazz5 operating a second account would you? Hello Meatsgains, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
- June backlog drive
Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.
- New technology, new rules
- New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
- Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
- Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
- Editathons
- Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
- The Signpost
- The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

Lucerne Capital Management AUM update
Hi Meatsgians,
We have tried to update the AUM on the Lucerne Capital Management page as the one you are showing is old. We have been in touch with Aidan Fell and sent him our corporate factsheet that includes our current AUM. However, he told us to get in touch with you to figure out what you want to see before we can edit this. Please let us know what your require so we can update the AUM. Nyams2018 (talk) 17:02, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
@Nyams2018: Couple of things:
- Who are you referring to when you say 'we'?
- Have you contributed to Wikipedia using alternative accounts?
- All of the attempts to update LCM's AUM were unsourced. You, or anyone else, will need to provide a reliable source in order to update/change.
- Who is Aidan Fell??
- You are saying 'our', so I can assume you are an employee of Lucerne Capital Management? If so, please read through WP:COI.
I'll be more than happy to update the company's assets under management if you can provide an independent reliable source supporting the updated amount. Meatsgains(talk) 01:20, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
Hi Meatgains,
Yes I am working for Lucerne. Can you give an example of what would you consider an independent reliable source in our case? Would our corporate factsheet or website not be enough, because other hedge funds such as AQR, Blackrock and Winton Group use that as source. Aidan Fell is another wikipedia volunteer we have been in touch with in June. Another person was working on it then, so the edit indeed from a different account. Nyams2018 (talk) 13:19, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
- Rather than provide an example, I suggest you read through WP:RS, which will provide more than enough information on what constitutes a reliable source. In this case concerning Lucerne's AUM, you will want an independent reliable source, not something self-publsihed. A factsheet would certainly be helpful but a news article confirming these figures would be preferred. Meatsgains(talk) 01:14, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

Good afternoon. I overhauled the Seward & Kissel page; however, my revisions have been undone. Much of the information on the current page is dated (rankings from 2013), incomplete (the firm's history), a bit random (the notable partners) or inaccurate (John Tavss is no longer the managing partner and Ivy Wafford Duke is no longer with the firm). I'd like to have the page updated to reflect the changes that I input. To the extent you have comments or other sections that you feel need to be included, happy to consider. NPR Newsletter No.13 18 September 2018
Hello Meatsgains, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
The New Page Feed currently has 2700 unreviewed articles, up from just 500 at the start of July. For a while we were falling behind by an average of about 40 articles per day, but we have stabilised more recently. Please review some articles from the back of the queue if you can (Sort by: 'Oldest' at Special:NewPagesFeed), as we are very close to having articles older than one month.
- Project news
- The New Page Feed now has a new "Articles for Creation" option which will show drafts instead of articles in the feed, this shouldn't impact NPP activities and is part of the WMF's AfC Improvement Project.
- As part of this project, the feed will have some larger updates to functionality next month. Specifically, ORES predictions will be built in, which will automatically flag articles for potential issues such as vandalism or spam. Copyright violation detection will also be added to the new page feed. See the projects's talk page for more info.
- There are a number of coordination tasks for New Page Patrol that could use some help from experienced reviewers. See Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Coordination#Coordinator tasks for more info to see if you can help out.
- Other
- A new summary page of reliable sources has been created; Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources/Perennial sources, which summarizes existing RfCs or RSN discussions about regularly used sources.
- Moving to Draft and Page Mover
- Some unsuitable new articles can be best reviewed by moving them to the draft space, but reviewers need to do this carefully and sparingly. It is most useful for topics that look like they might have promise, but where the article as written would be unlikely to survive AfD. If the article can be easily fixed, or if the only issue is a lack of sourcing that is easily accessible, tagging or adding sources yourself is preferable. If sources do not appear to be available and the topic does not appear to be notable, tagging for deletion is preferable (PROD/AfD/CSD as appropriate). See additional guidance at WP:DRAFTIFY.
- If the user moves the draft back to mainspace, or recreates it in mainspace, please do not re-draftify the article (although swapping it to maintain the page history may be advisable in the case of copy-paste moves). AfC is optional except for editors with a clear conflict of interest.
- Articles that have been created in contravention of our paid-editing-requirements or written from a blatant NPOV perspective, or by authors with a clear COI might also be draftified at discretion.
- The best tool for draftification is User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js(info). Kindly adapt the text in the dialogue-pop-up as necessary (the default can also be changed like this). Note that if you do not have the Page Mover userright, the redirect from main will be automatically tagged as CSD R2, but in some cases it might be better to make this a redirect to a different page instead.
- The Page Mover userright can be useful for New Page Reviewers; occasionally page swapping is needed during NPR activities, and it helps avoid excessive R2 nominations which must be processed by admins. Note that the Page Mover userright has higher requirements than the NPR userright, and is generally given to users active at Requested Moves. Only reviewers who are very experienced and are also very active reviewers are likely to be granted it solely for NPP activities.

- Looks like the page name has been changed however, the subject still does not meet general notability requirements. Meatsgains(talk) 16:49, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi Meatgains, thank you for your feedback. I've added more to Draft:Adam_Barber. If you have a moment, please check it.

- I will take a look but the fact remains - he lacks significant coverage in reliable sources thus isn't quite notable. Meatsgains(talk) 00:53, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
Tanya Ekanayaka page
Hi Meatsgains, thanks for your contribution to the page Tanya Ekanayaka. We are puzzled as to why the information about the individual's academic credentials sourced with links from the attendant university have been deleted. Similarly, the individual has released complete albums and had works in album collections which were also listed each with sourced references directly linking the individual to the particular albums/CDs. These too have been deleted from the 'Discograpy' section. Can you advice on why and how to include this information as it is pertinent and factual. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by NSNMN (talk • contribs) 18:00, 26 September 2018 (UTC) Hello again - we have added the information about the individual's solo albums in the discography section with individual references for each - this is different from recorded works. We have also added information about the person's academic credentials with references. A university will not catalog and keep a doctoral thesis in its archives until the doctorate has been awarded to the candidate. Thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NSNMN (talk • contribs) 18:18, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
Many thanks, Meatsgains. Just removed the top pink and yellow templates above the page referring to adverts as the page is now neutral. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NSNMN (talk • contribs) 18:34, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- Please do not remove the tags from the page. The page as it currently reads is far from being neutral. You have already been reported to WP:3RR see here. Meatsgains(talk) 18:38, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi Meatgains - another user (BoogieWithStu) has removed your recent revision (861337628) and as such deleted the information about the 'albums and collections' in the discography section and information about the individual's academic credentials, all of which were referenced. We cannot understand this. Please check. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:D610:AA00:E9B2:5873:3FF9:2999 (talk) 21:08, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
Anthroponymy pages
Hi. Regarding Ratzenhofer, do note that per MOS:DABNAME: Articles only listing persons with a certain given name or surname, known as anthroponymy articles, are not disambiguation pages ...
and this should be converted to an anthroponymy page (WP:APO/S) by reviewers. Bennv3771 (talk) 01:37, 28 September 2018 (UTC)
- Wait, all I did was remove the orphan tag from the page... Meatsgains(talk) 15:15, 28 September 2018 (UTC)
- I meant that you marked the article as reviewed but left it as a dab page. It’s already been converted to an anthroponymy page ... I just meant this comment as a heads up to convert such pages in the future when reviewing. Bennv3771 (talk) 03:00, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- Ah I see, will do! Thanks Meatsgains(talk) 03:14, 1 October 2018 (UTC)

Flagged SubwayCreatures as possibly not being notable
Hello, I was just wondering why you flagged SubwayCreatures as possibly not being notable? There are four external sources (which I thought was a good amount for that little article), one of which being CBS, a major news publication. I'm not challenging your decision, just trying to better understand it. Thanks, --LichWizard talk 11:38, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- The Instagram account/website did not appear to meet general notability requirements but I have since removed the tag given the page's reliable sources. Meatsgains(talk) 02:10, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks for your time. --LichWizard talk 12:15, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
Please comment on Ji Xingwen
Thanks for your input, I am slowly translating and editing the page - it is based on the same page from the Chinese language wiki. The intent is to have it fully sourced soon, and any help would be a boon. I simply didn't have time yet to port over everything, and I'm glad you mentioned those resources. Please feel free to stop by the page as it develops and grows. Much appreciated! — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Mattador (talk • contribs) 20:36, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
- The page was moved to draftspace. Please improve the page there before moving to the mainspace. Thanks! Meatsgains(talk) 01:13, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
Recent page move
Hi, about this recent page move, NCT (idol group), I'm not sure how or why this article got created, but it is idential to NCT (band), which was created two years ago. Probably don't need two identical articles, not sure how to handle, delete, merge, redirect? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide. Isaidnoway (talk) 01:26, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notification. I've tagged the page for speedy deletion since it duplicates an existing topic. Meatsgains(talk) 01:30, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
- Wow, talk about quick, thanks a lot. Looked like to me it was just a straight up copy and paste, so the user who created it had to know there was already an existing article. Anyway thanks. Isaidnoway (talk) 01:36, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm not sure what the purpose was for duplicating the page but it has since been deleted. Meatsgains(talk) 00:45, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Manfred Sexauer
Hello Meatsgains. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Manfred Sexauer, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: clearly notable when checking de-wiki and Musikladen would have been a viable redirect target even if not. Thank you. SoWhy 07:45, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
