Concern about "Reported to WMF"

I have no intentions, just a troubled soul (I believe this is of enough concern).--78.156.109.166 (talk) 20:51, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

What do you mean? I closed it as the general consensus is to suppress stuff like that when the WMF is aware, and as they had been emailed, I felt no need to let any drama continue. --Mdann52talk to me! 21:07, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
The "reported to wmf" is in RDMATH/Talk but also in ANI. No intentions about suicide, I am just a cursed angel. Please don't take offense. I mean more than this, but that's all for now.User:Mdann52--78.156.109.166 (talk) 15:41, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
At the end of the day, some people may have overreacted over this. I, however, just hid a stale discussion. I hope you can understand why we do what we do in situations such as this, but as I am unaware of the full background of the situation, I feel I can not comment any further on it. --Mdann52talk to me! 15:46, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Closing "Some accused Bitcoin of being a species of a Ponzi scheme"

date: 11:39, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

I read: "Closing as premature. Not discussed on talk page first." - I see the discussion on the talk page. How can I make sure the subject will look as "discussed"? Ladislav Mecir (talk) 18:29, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

By discussing it on the talk page. The concern noted at DRN wasn't addressed in any form on the article's talk page, so DRN is a premature route to take at this point. - Aoidh (talk) 23:10, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

AFC drive awards.

Greetings, Mdann52. I just wanted to inquire if, when the awards for the AFC backlog drive participants are handed out, I may be given awards for both the October and December-January drives, seeing as in each drive I reviewed 15+ AFCs, but I did not receive an award for October. That is, of course, unless there is something wrong with my reviews? Okay folks, say it with me: 1 for the money, 2 for the - the - okay, just let me read the script again first... (talk) 19:24, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

@Wilhelmina Will: it is AFCBuddy that has the problem, not you. It didn't update your score on the drives page, so I didn't see you had 15 reviews. I will mail you a brownie as soon as I have access to a proper computer. --Mdann52talk to me! 21:54, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello Mdann52:

WikiProject AFC is holding a month long Backlog Elimination Drive!
The goal of this drive is to eliminate the backlog of unreviewed articles. The drive is running from March 1, 2014 to March 31, 2014.

Awards will be given out for all reviewers participating in the drive in the form of barnstars at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 1200 articles, so start reviewing articles! Visit the drive's page and help out!

A new version of our AfC helper script has been released! It includes many bug fixes, new improvements and features, code enhancements, and more. If you want to see a full list of changes, visit the changelog. Please report bugs and feature requests there, too! Thanks.

Re: You reversal of my edit on "Sent By Ravens"

I'm unsure of why this occured. Maybe it was just a bot, I don't know. I was simply trying to give a backstory to the band name, and that was flagged down with a vandalism warning. Can you give me a reason? @Mdann52:

Do you have a source for the change? --Mdann52talk to me! 16:49, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
It depends on what you consider a source. The Bible verse itself could be a source, as could this http://www.crossrhythms.co.uk/articles/music/Sent_By_Ravens_The_posthardcore_band_guarding_the_words_they_speak/48061/p1/, or this interview with the band: http://www.chron.com/life/houston-belief/article/Music-Sent-by-Ravens-to-do-God-s-work-1711386.php. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nspqr2915 (talkcontribs) 16:55, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Stephen Colbert webpage

User:Mdann52

The information concerning Stephen Colbert's father as Dean of the Washington University Medical School is mistaken. James W. Colbert was Dean of Saint Louis University Medical School from 1953-1961. See AAUP Bulletin 42.1 (Spring, 1956), p. 108, n.1: www.jstor.org/stable/40222005

Thanks,

I believe my revert was to the Dean of the school currently, not historically. Of course, this was a while back, so I am not 100% sure. --Mdann52talk to me! 08:32, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Peter Salerno Re-Submission

Hello Mdann52, thank you for your patience with me as a "newbie" Wikipedia author. I have done my best to eliminate "PR language" and subjectively worded text from the Peter Salerno article as requested. I hope I have done a satisfactory job - if not, please feel free to offer further critique and I will be sure to amend the piece as needed. I'm a first-time Wikipedia submitter, and I thank you again for your patience and tolerance of my mistakes.Pinksquirrelcreative (talk) 20:28, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

@Pinksquirrelcreative: WP:AFCHD may be a better venue for this request - I have stepped back from AFC for a bit, for various reasons. --Mdann52talk to me! 08:37, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Dec-Jan AFC backlog drive.

Greetings, Mdann52! I'm inquiring about the awards for participation in the December 2013-January 2014 AFC backlog drive. When I reminded you about my participation in the October drive, you gave me my award for then, but I haven't received one for the latest drive yet. I remember you saying after one of the drives last year that you usually wait a while after the drives until something is cleared up, so is it time for distribution yet? If not, was there something wrong with my contributions? Thanks in advance! As you’ll see, I’ve added some shortening to my sig! (talk) 19:16, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

@Wilhelmina Will: Northamerica1000 did them this time - they should be able to let you know what happened. --Mdann52talk to me! 19:21, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! :) As you’ll see, I’ve added some shortening to my sig! (talk) 00:35, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

Talk:Alishan Bairamian

Hello,

I am the original author of a Talk that was initiated on entry Alishan Bairamian. I was unfortunately unaware of the talk and was unable to participate.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Alishan_Bairamian

Nevertheless, the conclusion drawn by you was that the consensus was to leave the entry the way it originally was. According to the comments, that wasn't the case.

Two people commented opposed keeping the maiden name of Sylvia in the entry and two people, one of whom was the person who started the Talk, supported it.

If I may, I would like to lodge my own opposition to it on the grounds that this is information that can be harmful, as User:NinjaRobotPirate stated, to the privacy of the currently living offspring of Sylvia because of the now public availability of her maiden name which is often used by offspring for security questions. I would like to again request that this be removed.

User:BDD also noted that it is not vital information and I'm not sure about the reason for Jackmcbarn's insistence that it be included, particularly given that I was the one who provided the original information and subsequently edited it after I realized it was a mistake.

Please reconsider the issue and advise me on how this issue may be remedied.

Thank you.

Ironladle (talk) 00:48, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

@Ironladle: I did not do a direct count, instead considering all the comments on their own merits. The conclusion I reached, on this occasion, was that it would do no harm to retain the material. --Mdann52talk to me! 08:33, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

User:Mdann52 Not sure why my explanation is continuously ignored. This is a privacy issue for the person in question's offspring. 1) I put the information in there. 2) I realized it was a mistake because it was a security issue. 3) Plus, the information is not integral to the article. 4) I removed the information.

Why is it so important to those commenting to keep this piece of information in there? I think I have been reasonable in explaining why this information should be removed. Ironladle (talk) 23:20, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

@Ironladle: Consensus is what Wikipedia runs on. Feel free to ask at WP:AN if you think this was inappropriate. --Mdann52talk to me! 11:11, 10 March 2014 (UTC)

Untitled section

I don't know why the Lawrin Armstrong page is under discussion again. I wrote such a page several years ago, but it was deleted after some discussion and I accepted that. Now there are two notices, apparently from you, about its re-deletion on my talk page. Do you have any idea who re-created it? All I can say is: wasn't me, and the noitices struck me as strange. --Christofurio (talk) 03:27, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

@Christofurio: The deletion log seems strange - it was deleted, then restored by an admin without explanation. I suspect this was nothing to do with you, so feel free to disregard the messages. --Mdann52talk to me! 08:21, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
