Sandbox will be declined if submitted

[edit]

Kieffer's work being discussed in various publications adds naught to criteria for notability. What is essential are three or more published works about Kieffer, where he is discussed/described at some length. See List of University of Minnesota people for examples of articles about notable faculty. David notMD (talk) 03:34, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Catch 22. The people listed are on Wikipedia. Think first, then spout. Mathman8574 (talk) 11:09, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What I meant was the people are on that list because articles exist about them (a criteria for being mentioned as notable in lists). My point was the articles about the individual faculty members are examples of content for the article you are intent of creating. David notMD (talk) 13:18, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. There might be a misunderstanding. We are putting information in the sandbox to use in an article to be created offline. The sandbox stuff is NOT the article to be submitted. Mathman8574 (talk) 21:28, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Who is "we"? User accounts are strictly single person use. Theroadislong (talk) 21:36, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to the account policy Theroadislong is referencing, please be aware that Wikipedia user pages are not meant to be a webhost for content unrelated to Wikipedia’s goals (See WP:UPNOT). If you’re creating a draft article just for external publication with no intent to submit it as an article, you should not use Wikipedia. POLITANVM talk 22:57, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is going to be a Wikipedia submission. A lot of word police around here. Mathman8574 (talk) 23:15, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Mathman8574. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page User:Mathman8574/sandbox, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 14:45, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 19:48, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --Mathman8574 (talk) 19:46, 12 April 2022 (UTC) It is in line with existing pages giving biographies of scientists, which were used as a guide.[reply]
